Advance Happy Birthday Rev :-)

Human

Rad! Good to see you - and thank you very much :)

Dark Archive

Rev, if you ever run a Neverwinter 4e PBP, please keep me in mind, thanks :-)

The Exchange

M

Happy Pre-B-Day as well.

Been having a blast so far in these games, Rev. You pretty much were the one that got me into the system, since I've been reading your games for a while now, so it's all your fault when I start paying for new books!

The Exchange

M

Having some ...issues in regards to work at moment. Its taking much of my time and thought processes. I may be off line for a few days. Feel free to NPC Greeg as needed. I squeezed my post in to not slow things up. Hopefully I'll have things sorted by Sunday, Brisbane time. Cheers

Human

Sorry to hear that and I hope things sort themselves out for you. Greeg is in good hands. I hope.

Grand Lodge

Just letting you know that I'm keeping an eye on the discussion forum.

Human

@ LazarX - Oh, go on. Rustle yourself up a character. Combat is going to be (even more) cumbersome with nine, but I suspect the party may split at some point. Aubrey manages, and while I don't approach his god-like status, I'll do my best.

@ Rad - I'm at my game limit at the moment, but if anything ever ends, I may do a Neverwinter.

Awesome :-)

Male Dwarf Invoker/Divine Philosopher 14

I may be posting occasionally for a while. My father has had to go into hospital.

Sorry to hear. Best of luck to him and you.

Human

I'm very sorry to hear that. Take care of him and you and accept some more good wishes.

Male Dwarf Invoker/Divine Philosopher 14

My father is out, and his heart is back to it's normal rhythm. It turns out to have been a virus causing it, and antibiotics took care of that.

Glad to hear!

Human

Excellent news. You must be very relieved.

Male Dwarf Invoker/Divine Philosopher 14

Thanks for the good wishes. I am indeed relieved. He's still got other health problems, but he does seem to be feeling better than he has for a few days.

Human

Anyone seen or heard anything from Zero lately? He doesn't seem to have been on the boards at all for the last couple of weeks.

Nope sorry Rev, havn't heard from him.

And Guldarin, hoping things work out for your dad bud. Would've said so sooner but been very busy lately and haven't checked this particular thread til now.

Cheers

Human

I'll assume computer collapse for the time being. When his turn comes up, if someone could act on his behalf I'd be grateful.

Grand Lodge

Not sure if the character is made right but here he is...

Human

LazarX - I'll run him through CB if I get a chance today.

You're going to hate me, but I need all this stuff in your character profile with numbers so he can be run by someone else if he has to be.

I know just how much of a pain that is, but I need it all laid out like this:

Power type (At-Will, Enc, Daily)
Range (10, close burst, blast, melee etc)
What it's against (v AC, F, R, W)
Actual attack number (+x not Int)
Actual damage (1d8+x not 1 weapon plus Cha mod)
Effect if any on hit or regardless

I also need anything your magic items do listed. Speaking of which, do you have a neck slot item anywhere?

I'll slot you in as soon as you're happy you have everything set.

Grand Lodge

I'll do that tonight. No, I do not think I have a neck item.

Human

Make sure you pick one up. Without it your defences will be on the low side.

You get one each of a level 14, level 13 and level 12 item plus whatever figure I came up with for gold to spend on whatever else you want.

Just at first pass, he looks good, but I haven't checked the numbers yet. Can you let me know what your extra languages are (for Linguist)?

Grand Lodge

I made a PDF export and uploaded it to my google docs. it's set to be viewable by anyone with the link.

It should have the info you needed including implement bonuses.

Human

That's excellent - thank you so much :)

Once you're sorted with an avatar, you look good to go.

Draconic, Deep Speech, and Primordial.

You mean like this? :) I'm not entirely happy with it, but it'll do for now.

Human

Like that :) If you can link that pdf to the profile, life will be perfect.

I'll get you at the end of this round.

Rev Rosey wrote:

Done. isn't it grand when perfection is obtained so easily? And you didn't even have to sit under a peach tree for 49 days. There might be one minor tweak which I'll do when I get home. but he's 99.5 percent ready to go.

Human

Never could abide peaches ...

That's great. Thank you.

Just one thing, I've been looking hide and hair but can't really find what the campaign world background is, what's the setting and are you using FR or base dieties from the rulebook? If you have setting info please put in a link to it.

Human

It is a default Points of Light setting, with the base deities.

You are in the desert, so it bears some similarity to Dark Sun in terms of the harshness of the climate and the world, but this is not post apocalyptic at all.

I'll post up more in a bit.

I have to admit not having heard of that setting.

"Points of Light" just means the setting assumed in the core books -- towns and cities are points of light in the vast dark (wildlands). So PHB deities are the safe bets.

Human

For your purposes, treat it as a standard 4e Points of Light setting with added environmental issues. There aren't any special rules about this, except what common sense would suggest - i.e. water matters a lot and is hard to come by. Poisoned water is almost the worst thing that can happen out here.

The group have been doing a good job trying to get Hallampour's well cleaned up. That's goodwill on their part, but it also means that they're likely to have a village to come back to if you ever need a base camp.

The deities are all the standard ones, although there may be a couple none of you recognise. You are all a long way from anywhere you know well.

I would suggest that with Andaros's background, he has heard rumours of artifacts out in the desert and knows that Hallampour is the nearest stopping point. He might well have been here a day or so, trying to pick up clues and will be aware of the arrival of a lot of strangers. He won't really have had time to make himself known to them as the giants attacked, but having helped out on the northern perimeter, he's been attracted by the noise to the south.

Human

Bloggy update on your exploits here.

At the end of the first combat, I always offer everyone the opportunity to take another look at their characters and make changes. That holds.

Andaros can hold off until he's been in combat longer than 5 minutes, of course.

The point of this is to make sure you're all happy with what you're playing. I will make sure you level fairly fast in pbp terms, but if you've already spotted a power that isn't working, now is the chance to get rid of it without re-training.

I noticed that on the character descriptions, you listed the Paragon Paths for most of the characters.

In case his actions haven't made it obvious. Andaros has taken the path of the Wizard of the Spiral Tower.

One of the rituals I picked up was Linked Portal. Usually when you master that ritual, you get a couple of rune combinations for known permanent teleport circles. Any idea of which city destinations I might have handy?

Human

I'd suggest Ekabba (as remote city state with a good library) as one of them. There will be a teleportation circle there.

Where does Andaros normally live? If it's in the Feywild, there are a couple of places he could use as another rune combination. Otherwise, Fallcrest is a decently sized town and a natural starting point for many adventurers.

Andaros lived in the Feywild for most of his life, but a good deal of his adventuring career has been in the prime, As I recall, the ritual can not cross planes. (there's another more advanced one for that, I think) So Ekabba and Fallcrest sound like good choices. Although if this group has a permanent home, I might look into setting one up there.

No more it can.

The group doesn't have a permanant base yet as few of you know each other well. If you all hang around together long enough to get to Epic, then you might well want one. Play your cards right on this adventure and it can probably be arranged.

Going with Fallcrest and Ekabba makes sense.

The Exchange

M

I'm fairly happy with Greeg. Don't think he needs too much tinkering at this stage. He missed with 3 of his attacks, so hard to tell if they're effective or not.

I liked the fight btw Rev. Thanks.

The Exchange

M

Rev, I dunno if I got a chance to tell you, but I've been hospitalized for the last few weeks, just got out the other day, still recovering, that's why I've been inactive, I do intend to play still, but right now it is quite taxing, I'll happily return when I can

Human

Zero! So pleased to see you again. Didn't know about the hospitalisation, but I really hope all is well with you. Don can play catch up whenever you want, he's just chasing the local skirts at the moment. Raya is doing her darndest not to die horriby at the hands of a gargoyle in a room with strange gravity.

Let me know when you want to jump back in and I'll sort it out.

Profile now links to an updated document which references current prepared spells and a very slight tweak in rituals.

Human

Speaking of rituals, this may be of interest to the ritualists among you.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

Glad you're recovering, Zero!

Still looking at any tinkering I want to do -- busy weekend. Will check the link; thanks, Rev.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

Happy with my general build, but I'll switch Polearm Gamble to Exploration Mastery from the Dragon article. Definitely make things cheaper!

Might be a day or two before it's on the profile, though -- traveling tomorrow.

Male Half-elf Assassin 14 / Obsidian Stalker

I like that Nayce dishes out more hurt now. :)

The Exchange

M

busy marking and report writing over the next week. That tends to slow my creative juices somewhat. I'm still here and reading along, but may only drop in some character stuff occasionally until my work is done. Sorry Rev, I know its hard to keep the pace when folk stay quiet. I'll put more into Greeg when time becomes more available to me.

Cheers
