never mind, I misread your post earlier. for the surprise round, I am dropping the thunder bomb on them. centered on B3.

Rev

Spoiler:
when you are ready, (thunder bomb on Z10,Z4,Z1,CC,Z5,Z2, Z11,Z6,and Z3. +10 vs Fort, 16,26,29,29,27,16,21,18, and 20, any who are hit take 2d8+9 thunder damage or 11+9= 20 thunder damage, are slowed til the end of my next turn except for Z5 who is immobilized til the end of my next turn)

never mind, Rev, I reread your post. you want our surprise actions now?

Cinematic is fine. It tends to be how I see things myself.

They seem like badly injured farmers to you (yes, creatures, not a zone). As they draw closer, Kelgan and Ceara can see clearly that if they're not dead, they ought to be. The smell is horrible and their wounds clearly deadly. Their blind eyes face directly to the front, ignoring everything.

Religion or Nature check for further identification of farmers,

Yes. Surprise round actions please. Also init from Hobbes, Kel and Perigia. Note that Perigia, Erik and Kel can't see any of them.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

my post with that and my surprise round action got eaten by the boards. init=13. on surprise round, thunder bomb centered on Z5, so that's Z10,Z4,Z1,CC,Z5,Z2,Z11,Z6, and Z3. +10 vs Fort, 27,22,13,27,26, 25,20,29, and 15. damage is 2d8+9 or 11+9= 20 thunder damage to all it hit and everyone hit is slowed until end of my next turn, except for Z5 who is immobilized until end of my next turn.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Kelgan walks out from the doorway and calmly walks into the middle of the hall. "At least one of you look like you can put up a decent fight."

Move to B9.

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

The shadowy Ceara slips deeper into the room, though not closer to the creatures.

Move to C17 for my suprise round action.

First arrow, attack vs AC, 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32, damage = 1d12 + 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + (6) + 7 = 19
second arrow, attack vs AC, 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19, damage = 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Edit: first arrow was a crit, crit dice 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9 total damage = 34hp.

Rev

Spoiler:

I may not be around to post my normal action. My med appointments start tomorrow. Would it be okay to post my actions early?

Kel, you can't see anything from your perch, but you can use the attack as rolled on the first thing you can see as a readied action. Hunter's Quarry is a minor, so you can't put it on anything until it's your turn.

Thunder detonates around the hall and as the noise dies away, you see that the ranks have been thinned considerably. Some of the dead farmers simply explode, but among the still shambling, you see a couple with a light of intelligence in their blind eyes.

One of them advances on Kelgan, the slack face twisting and shaping into a facsimile of the half-orcs features as it reaches towards him. Kelgan's strength stands him in good stead however, and the creature can't overcome him so easily.

Steal Skin (Fort). On hit Foulspawn skintaker assumes the form of the target to the end of the encounter. Whenever the target uses a healing surge, the skintaker regains half the hp and the target regains the other half.

Rev** spoiler omitted **

Go ahead. You're up anyway, we cross posted. Just updating map now for you. Such great news about the medical stuff.

"Guess I better work on thinning out the rest of'em" Brujo's form flashes and reappears at the head of the things.

Fey Step to C6

Twirling Harrakk's dagger in his hand he grins at the approaching enemies, "Nothing personal just want to finish this quick"

"I defy all laws and transcend reason. I call on the power of destruction... " The dagger flies at the horde and erupts into a jet of blue-green flames.

Incendiary Sword (orgin square B3) on CC, Z1, Z10 and Z3 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 vs. Will; Damage 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13 fire damage, and the targets takes 7 fire damage if they make attacks that don't include brujo on their turn; Effect: Your weapon reforms in your hand.

Brujo steps back from the flames as the dagger reforms in his hand

White Lotus Evasion to B7

More rational than he's been for many weeks, Brujo leaps into the hallway and flings his dagger. As it leaves his hand, it erupts, burning Z1 to ash instantly and melting into the armoured figure at the centre of the oncoming group. Slicing past the other targets without harming them, the blade re-forms in his hand.

"Kel, if you want to wait there, I can bring some targets to you." Hobbes says with a smile.

If you want to ready your attack until you can see one, Kel, I will move closer on my turn and unleash another area attack. One of the enemy should then move up and try to attack me, whereby you can attack from your perch. Otherwise, you will have to come down and find a new shooting angle. Just stating the obvious. :)

Kel?

Male Elf Ranger

Holding turn until after hobbs.

"Bring em in hobbs."

Male Human Sorcerer 9

He means readying his attack until he can see an enemy. at least that is what I suggested, since he has that cool perch and all. If I was mistaken, Kel, let me know. But I am going to majorly piss these guys off on my turn and they should turn and come towards me, especially since I am only in leather armor wielding a dagger.

Apologies for the delay. I had classes all day and then live gamers in this evening. Moved Kel in the init order.

The armoured figure stows its battleaxe, draws its longbow, and fires an arrow at Brujo. There is a sickening thud as the arrow strikes home.

"Fresh meat," it husks as it takes in the sight of the oncoming companions.

The undead farmers surrounding him turn sightlessly and howl eagerly.

Hobbes moves up next to Perigia and says to the creature, "Come on, then, I don't have all frickin' day here. Show me what you've got, farmer man." He says with a smirk as he holds his dagger out at him.

Hobbes impatiently sends a blast of cold so ferocious that it obliterates another of the walking dead. The commander stays upright, but the brutality of the attacks is clearly telling.

point of clarifaction, Rev? shouldn't Z10 be no longer slowed and located at D4 on the map? the slow effect ended right after my turn and Erik slid him to D4. We want him to charge Perigia and me, preferrably me, so Kel can shoot him. He is more likely to do that when he is closer to us than to Kelgan or Brujo. :)

Erik didn't hit Z10. 16 misses his Will and Cutting Words only works on a hit.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

crap! Sorry, Kel, I may have been mistaken. We have been so effective, there might not be an enemy left to come after us.

"Hey, you! You lousy walking skin-bag! Come here! I got something for you, miserable scumhook!" Hobbes yells at the zombie-like creature in front of him.

Kel - post when you can. I've delayed you as I don't really know what your plans are at this point. You can still use your earlier roll.

The former farmer reaches greedily for Brujo, raking hideously stained fingernails across his abdomen and proves unable to bypass the swordmage's armour.

Viscera Grab (AC). On hit, target is grabbed (escape ends). Zombie can maintain grab as long as it is within 2 squares of the target.

There is a yawn from the shadows and then Ceara is no longer a shadow, and seems to be having some fun, though, perhaps only she will find it fun. The woman appears human now, but her skin is extra pallid, her eyes an almost dead looking shade of gray. Yes, she's looking like a zombie, except not dead!

Moaning "Brains, Brains..." as her hand comes forward, darts fly from it at one of the real zombies.

Move to B11. Shroud 1 on CC. Attacking Z9 with Shadow Darts, 3 attacks vs reflex. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26. Cold Damage on 1 hit 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9, on 2 hits 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16, on 3 hits 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 8, 3) + 6 = 18

Ceara's sudden appearance and attack are too much for Z9 who collapses back into merciful (and hopefully) permanent death.

One of the remaining farmers moves greedily to Brujo, suddenly seeming more of a threat as its limbs gain the hue of life. The moonelf finds himself staring at an exact copy of himself.

He looks over at Perigia at asks, "So who did you study magic with? How old were you went you started?" Hobbes smiles at her confusion. "I figure, since the monsters are not interested in "playing" with us, we should use this extra time to get to know one another better."

43hp

"Cute trick, but I've seen better." The air around Brujo begins to disrupt. What looks to be sharp spikes form around him.

"Tell me how you like this"

Kelgan ignores his doppelganger as he runs past it to attack the armored man.

Charging to B5, attacking CC and marking him: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 331d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

If you are found with the "gift", they take you from your home and teach you at the Palace. Excuse me a second." Hobbes looks back at the battlefield and selects a target. "Kelgan, I am going to blast your dancing partner! Watch yourself." He quickly chants in Draconic and unleashes a green glowing orb from his hand.

Acid Orb on ST1 +10 vs Ref, 20! Critical hit. damage is 1d10+11 acid or 21 acid damage +2d6 critical damage for total of 21+11= 32 acid damage and the target loses any resistances it has.

Hobbes looks a little surprised by the effectiveness of his own spell and turns back to Perigia.

"Wow, that was pretty good. (If I do say so myself) So my childhood was an interesting one. Living at the palace, learning about my powers, and also learning history, math, logic, and manners. Yes, I had an actual class in manners. Was your aunt gensai as well and if so, did she also manifest fire?"
