Erik - you hit D3 only. Still having Photobucket grief. Looking at alternatives.

Erik - Couldn't put Kelgan where you wanted him as he'd have to slide through the worg. Placed him as best I could. ALL Please check the map and tell me if you are in the right places to the best of your knowledge.

Kelgan's blade slams into more wolves and is followed almost instantly by another successful stab at hapless D1 by Hobbes.

Erik's chest note reorganises the battlefield once more and the Worg snarls as the wolves move. Powerful muscles flex and the great beast leaps away from Brujo and over the wall, attacking Ceara from behind. Jagged teeth bite deep and she feels the stink of the worg's breath as a suppurating wound opens.

Brujo - make on OA on the Worg please.

1d20+12=23. Worg v Ceara (AC). Hits.
2d6+5=13
13 damage to Ceara and 5 ongoing. Save ends.

More of the pervading mist lifts, revealing a large beetle lurking in the trees and clearly one source of the goo making Ceara's life miserable.

Never mind your dot - what about my OA against the worg :)

Harrak's dagger 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26; Damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Brujo's hand seems to move of its own accord and the dagger drives deep into the worg as it leaps away.

A palpable hit.

Brujo

Spoiler:
From somewhere at the back of your mind, you hear a triumphant shout of joy. "I am no longer alone!"

You distinctly felt Harrak's strength blending with yours for a moment.

Upgrade the dagger to a +2 subtle weapon. You get an additional +2 to damage with it with attack with CA.

Ceara laughs amusedly as she's bitten. "Oh, so you want to dance up close, do you, little thing. It's my turn to bite." She fades into the shadows, and appears once more, near Kel.

Shadow walk to E9. Teleporting everywhere is cool.

As she appears once more a black dart streaks from her hand flying through the air at the worg.

Targeted for Death vs Will. I'm outside it's aura so no pentalty. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12. On hit: 3d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 6, 4) + 10 = 21 cold damage. On miss half damage, in either event, until the end of the encounuter, whenever I place a shard on the Worg, he gets two. Apply shards, brining him to 4. AP

Following the dart, the woman laughs. "Do you feel her little creature, wrapping you in her webs, dancing in your soul. Do you feel her children biting you, feeding on you very essence?"

Echoing Threat, also targets will, and I invoke the shrouds. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29. On a hit: 1d10 + 4d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + (6, 1, 2, 6) + 9 = 27 and I can teleport up to 3 squares as a minor action during my next turn as long as I end up closer to it. On a miss 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3) = 10 and no specials.

Saves: Immobilize: 1d20 ⇒ 6, damage: 1d20 ⇒ 5. If the damage is necrotic, it's an auto save, thanks to my armor.

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

Crit the second attack, now we need a DM call :) The wizard's boards are split with how shrouds work on a crit, if they are maxed or rolled. If they are maxed my attack does 2d8 + 40 ⇒ (3, 5) + 40 = 48. If they are rolled it would be the 2d8 roll from above plus 31, given the already rolled 4d6. Oh, and Echoing Threat makes worg take 10 psychic at the start of it's next turn if it's within 2 squares of any creature.

Photobucket is a pile of cack again. Looking for an alternative free picture hosting site that will let me edit. This is driving me mildly nuts. I'm so sorry, but I won't be able to update until late this evening UK time - I have a ton of rehearsals to attend.

I'm honestly not sure about the shrouds. My instinct is to treat them as magic weapon dice boni - i.e. roll them, so I'm going with that.

The worg reels back from Ceara's mental and physical assault, hideously wounded and roaring in abyssal.

Ceara, the ongoing is just normal damage.

looking at the map, how did all the monsters suddenly get near me? Last I checked, it was just D1 between me and Kel. Erik's forced slide was only on a hit, right? So only D3 should have been slided, um, slid, slidden, whatever. (and our allies, of course) The Worg and D5 and all those other guys should be back down in the H7-8 range on the other side of the gate. D3 couldn't be slid to H11, as I am at H11. Just trying to make sense of this chaos. :)

EDIT: Just read your previous note. Sorry. Stupid program won't cooperate. I withdraw my previous protest and will sit here calmly and nicely until it is my turn. :)

Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc

ALL:
Wow, I can't even hit their FORT defense on a roll of 10? Why is fort always the toughest non-AC defense to attack? I hope we find enough gold to upgrade my sword soon.

I was pretty sure Kelgan could move there if he went 2 west and one southwest. Guess I could have been mistaken? Guess we'll never know.

Rev:
Rev, I highly recommend using Windows Live Skydrive, which I've been using in Sellswords. It runs faster than photobucket because it doesn't get as much traffic and I've never had trouble saving images to it.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Well, welcome to the amazing world of soldiers. As for other hosting sites, would Flickr work?

Looking into it. Photobucket worked because I could just upload the blank map and add monsters and pcs as text object - important as I'm a technical klutz and haven't figured out layers.

Great apologies for the delays and mess up with this combat. I've got records of where everyone is supposed to be and worst case I'll draw it by hand and scan it in - long-winded, but reliable.

MAP

Try this folks. Tell me if it links properly for a start. Can't do the mist, so you'll just have to live with being able to see everything - which I'm sure you won't hate.

These are the positions as near as I can figure after the wolf rounds. They've moved, but not yet attacked. I'm pretty sure that it went wrong around the time of Erik's set of moves, so please check. Hobbes, the Worg jumped the wall and is in the correct place. I'm not 100% sure about the other wolves. Beetles are correct.

Once you've confirmed, I'll update properly. So sorry this has turned into such a mess. On the plus side, Flickr is better for my purposes as it keeps the text objects as objects and I can just pick them up and move them. I'm transferring all my maps across now.

Standing by to inflict wolfy horror on Kel, Hobbes and Brujo mostly.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

so they moved there? Ok, I don't like it, but it looks right to me. If my sorcerer dies here, I am coming back as a melee based character. With lots of heavy armor.

The wolves converge and attack, closing in on Kel. Maddened by pain and barely standing, D1 misses completely. D2 pushes the elf off his feet and D5 moves in for the kill, biting deeply into the vulnerable figure on the ground. D3 fails to get a bite in on the elusive sorcerer.

At the other gate, Brujo confronts D4 on his own, holding the creature off with ease.

Brujo smirks and bolts at the beast, rejuvinated from his friends strength

Pressing Strike, shift to P10, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31; Damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 CRIT!!! Damage 9+1d6 ⇒ 4+1d6 ⇒ 2=15; Rampage on d4 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15; Damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8, and you push D4 to N12.

If that's enough to down D4 move to Q9 use Aegis of Shielding on B1. If not move to O11 and close the gap on D4.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

Kel, I realize you are prone and hurting, but if there is anyway you can get out of that square on your turn, I would appreciate it. I am going to unleash some magic and I don't want to hit you with it. (either close blast 3 or area burst 1 on D2)

I'm planing on scampering away eventhough the wolves will get an OA.

Kel, if you want to delay until I've gone, I should be able to convince them not to attack you. Of course, to do that I'd have to be in Hobbes' attack, but he has express permission to attack me as long as it does more damage to the wolves.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

you know I can't promise you that, Kelgan. I'm a SORCERER. Once it leaves my hand, I don't know what it is going to do. My advice? Get out out of the squares surrounding the wolf D2 unless you can breathe acid. :) 2d8+9 acid is NOT something you want to triffle with.

"Kel, get up and move! I'm going to blast these wolves back to the Abyss!" Hobbes notifies his companions.

Male Elf Ranger

I might not last until my next turn and if I do the dogs OA's or Hobbs' spell would finish me, either way I'm screwed.

What DC acrobatics check do I need to get over the wall?

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

That's why I said to delay until I went. I'll use Inspiring Word on you and dissuade most of the wolves from making an OA, then once Hobbes goes Erik can heal my horrible acid burns, and everyone ends up relatively fine.

Athsirion {Kel} Keledilinthir wrote:

10 foot rough wall - DC15. You'd grant CA while climbing. It would take a full move action to climb up.

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

I really think the 4 temp hp should be Kel's not mine. I'm not in danger, he is.

Female Genasi Firesoul Wizard 7

Perigia casts Scorching Burst in J10. Attack rolls: D5 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9, D2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27, D3 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 all vs. Ref. Damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 fire damage.

Male Elf Ranger

Kel will wait until the end Kelgans turn.

Ceara - I'm perfectly fine with you passing the 4 temp hp to Kel as long as Erik is OK with that.

Flame engulfs the wolves as Perigia goes into action. D5 dodges easily, but D2 and D3 are less lucky and howl as their fur smoulders.

Brujo ducks past D4, slicing deeply into it as he passes. Enraged though he is, his second attack does nothing and his foe remains defiantly upright, snarling at the moonelf.

Recharge for Entangling Spittle:
B1 - no.
B2 - yes.

Revealed by the vanishing mist, the beetles scuttle towards the companions, mandibles clicking. B1 find Brujo too tempting a target and unleashes a surprisingly hard bite from around the trees.

1d20+12=24 - B1 v Brujo. Misses.

B2 contents itself with trying to glue Erik to the ground. Stickly goo hits an inoffensive bush instead and the bard is spared.

Kelgan almost absently deals another crippling blow to a passing wolf.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

"Kelgan, what are you doing?" Hobbes asks as he moves away from the wolves. Then he summons a cloud of acid that burns the wolves (and Kelgan). As the cloud fades, the leftovers gather around Hobbes and blurs his form.

shift to G11, Tempest Breath on D1,D5,D2,D3, and KS (+10 vs Ref, 21, 30 (crit), 27, 28, and 24 respectfully, damage=2d6+9 acid or 16 acid damage except for D5 who takes 12+9+2d6=12+9+10= 31 acid damage and if D5 has any resistences, they are down (save ends)) And Hobbes has concealment til EOMNT

Hobbes gets 4 temp hp for hitting D3.
Kelgan - take 16 damage.

Even as the magical mist disappears, Hobbes breathes out, temporarily engulfing a small area with a miniature storm. As the stormclouds pass, Hobbes sees to his satisfaction that D3 and D5 are bloodied and D1 is now nothing more than a pile of acid-streaked fur. Barely enough remains of the beast to make a pair of mittens.

Unfortunately, Kelgan cannot dodge in time, despite Hobbes's warning shout.

Erik mutters some arcane words and releases some eldritch energy in the direction of B2, trying to befuddle its mind.

In the last aspect of Echoing Threat, I teleport as a free action to E12.

Then shadows rip from the trees, trying to wrap around the worg's neck.

Apply 2 shrouds, then Executioner's Blade. Targets Fort. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22. On hit: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10, and I pull it one square north and slow it until the end of it's next turn. Saves: Immobalize: 1d20 ⇒ 19. Damage: 1d20 ⇒ 10
