A smooth wall of dark gray metal bisects the cavern here, its expanse pitted and scorched but quite solid looking. A strange, circular opening pierces the wall five feet off the ground, allowing access to some sort of hallway on the other side.
The opening is missing it's door, but perhaps it's one of those doors that slide into the wall?
I'll have the map up shortly. Also, you are all about to enter the something, something

Agni continues to follow the scout, making sure to keep her light pointed down to avoid back lighting it.
'I hope it has time to scream before we get eaten...' she considers, with an amused smile.

GM Skyreaver |

The map is, for the most part, cleared. There is one area to the north that you haven't explored, but I am getting the sense that you are all entering the metal door in the metal wall.
Now we've entered the ship, proper, I have some information that I will post into the game info tab, which basically concerns the environmental stuff, as well as a new map. For now, we begin with:
The walls, floor and ceiling of this slightly curved hallway are made of smooth dark gray metal. Panels of lighter material run along the ceiling eight feet above. To the north and south the tunnel is blocked by walls of metal junk and rubble, while open doorways yawn to the east and west.
The doorway to the west is the one you just entered through. There is no lighting in the immediate area, other than what your group brings.

![]() |

"What a strange cavern this is!" exclaims Dru as she creeps through the dark.
I have a torch if need be.

GM Skyreaver |

Looking through the doorway, You see one of those curious metal beings that you saw in Val's house back in town. It is currently bumping into the wall repeatedly, then recoiling from hitting the wall, then moving forward into the wall again. It's likely that it's been here for a while. It has not currently reacted to your presence.
beyond the creature, there are a pair of double doors that are only slightly open. There is a tiny crack of light that is spilling in onto the floor from where the door has been raised a foot or so. There is no flicker to the light the way that you see with torches. This like is more like what you would see on a bright day.
Map updated.

![]() |

One of those metal guys is thunking against the wall like it doesn't know what else to do. Otherwise it is dark in there and a door that is open a bit. You guys should get your weapons out and then I'll open the door.

Dru makes sure her armor is strapped on properly, readies her rapier, and nods at Vixen.

![]() |

With a slight nod, she points her bullseye lantern towards the darkness.
With a smile, she adds "I don't like using weapons, when it's not necessary."

![]() |

Vixen mimes counting to ten and then tries to open the door; her hand harmlessly passing through. She turns to look at Sable and a painfully long silence occurs before Vixen raises her hands palms up to her shoulders. Earth to Sable, come in...
Oh! Sorry! I forget. Sorry!
Vixen becomes tangible over the course of a few seconds and any sense motive would tell you she is rolling her eyes behind her mask.
OK, OK. Let's do this. She opens the door wide and as the layern light illuminates the room she raises her palm out with her fingers extended, smallest and ring tightly together as well as first and middle forming a "V" shape in between. Hi, Marvin! We come in peace, take us to your leader. Uhm... live long and ... hrmm... oh right, live long and prosper!

Yes, we would like your leave to pass she says wary that the malfunctionining creature may well attack.

GM Skyreaver |

Sorry, meant to get this posted yesterday. Got working on some stuff and lost track of time:
As Vixen calls out to it, the robot turns it's head in his direction...and makes a sound that is something between a bat screech and the sound of electrical discharge.
It rotates it's body quicker than it should be able to, and triggers your "it's go time!" instincts.
Emma: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Vixen: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Druscillia: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Agni: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
ME!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
So we will not be using a combat map, but you can see the floorplan map to get an idea of what is where. Feel free to post your actions and I will do the best to adjust them as the situation develops. If there is no way for you to complete your action (i.e. all of the spaces around a creature are taken), I'll ask you to select something else. I will post a description of what happened at the end of the round (should combat still be going) and let you know to act again. If I need saves, I'll mention them when it gets to my turn.
Initiative Order is:
Druscillia
Agni
Emma
Vixen
Me
The creature is currently 15' away from the group (and given the initiative, will likely not get any closer of it's own accord). It is on the left-hand side of the hallway.

![]() |

Dru approaches the creature cautiously, careful not to leave an opening when she stabs at it.
rapier, fight defensively: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 4 = 11
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
With her Cautious Fighter feat, Dru gets +4 to AC when fighting defensively. So she's at 24 now, 25 if it's medium sized. Also if it's medium sized and misses her with a melee attack she will spend a panache to move into its square.

![]() |

Vixen watches the fighters rush past and thinks she will walk over to block the far door trying to avoid getting hit by stepping into and out of a wall if needed. She wants a nice clean fight with no new combatants.
Sable will flurry with her bow.
bow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
bow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Moving towards the creature, Agni gives a solid punch with her free hand to get its attention. "Now you should quit this nonsense. "

Attacking for Emma:

Damage Roll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Both Agni and Druscillia move up to engage robot, and while both attacks resound off if it's hide, neither attack seems to do actual damage.
Emma uses her mind magic to fling a nearby pebble at the robot, but in an attempt to not hit her melee combatants, she pulls the shot wide.
Vixen moves through the wall and to the oppose side of the robot and begins focusing on any additional creatures that might join the fray.
Vixen fires twice, and each arrow is close but pathfinders in the way prevent a clean shot from lining up and the arrows go skitting into the darkness.
the creature continues to scream it's electronic scream and swings it's fist at Even Agni, odd Druscillia: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Agni, attempting to connect with one of it's odd mechanical pseudopods.

Vixen closes the door and prepares to enter into combat.
Sable will try again with the bow. She's confident that she can shoot into combat with her precise shot, but sadly has no way of ignoring soft cover from her allies. She will try, perhaps in vain, to find a clear shot without her allies in the way.
bow attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Thinking back on her youth, the fight rages on around her.
'What was it Sensei used to say?....OH don't get hit!'
With a smile, she looks around realizing the Thing is about to attack again. Quickly, she ducks to the side and tries sweeping it's leg(s). "You ranged folks, wait till it stands back up" she cries to her companions.
Improved Trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
I'm guessing that's not enough?

Reposting Initiative Order:
Druscillia
Agni
Emma
Vixen
Me
Vixen is unable to get the door closed, but neither does she attract any immmediate attention for her attempts. Seeing that it is futile, she moves to the opposite side to attempt to help Druscillia.
For her part, Druscillia attempts to take advantage of the creature's divided attention to stab it somewhere vulnarable, but it twists it's body at the last moment to avoid a telling blow.
Both Sable and Emma launch projectiles at the creature, but between the narrow tunnel and their focused attempts not to hit their companions, they have to aim wide.
While the creature is whirling about, attempting to select a target, Agni attempts to knock it down, making it easier for the group to destroy it. She miscalculates the correct point at which to sweep it's legs, however, and it remains standing.
The robot turns it's attentions to Agni and attempts to break her with it's multitool limb.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Bow 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Bow 2 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Dru keeps pounding on the machine with her flail, trying to get its attention. "Hey brainless! Betcha can't hit me!"

Updated Initiative Order:
Druscillia
Emma
Vixen
Agni
Me
Druscillia swings at the robot, but her focus on protecting herself makes here hesitate when the moment is presented.
Emma and Sable again fire, but again have trouble striking a target through the whirling limbs and weapons ahead of them.
Vixen manages a pair of solid blows, thanks to it's divided attention.
Agni, on the other hand, misses with the trip, but it's avoidance sets it up for a near perfect follow-up attack, which she eagerly takes advantage of. That being said, Agni's attack seems to have a much greater effect than even she believes it should.
Staggered from the blows landing, it continues to focus it's assault on Agni. As it moves, you all notice it's wounds closing very slowly, as something inside it is making repairs.

Stumbling back from the blow, the woman lets out a soft groan. "Ooof! that's gonna leave a mark! Just go down already!"
Desperately trying to knock the beast over, she tries stomping on the mechanisms knee joint, before hopping away. Producing a wand from her pocket, she glances around to her companions. "Uh...If this becomes necessary, the activation is 'Yous the pretty one!'"

Oblivious, Vixen continues her comic assault. ZAP! BANG!
ZAP: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Damage Roll: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Initiative Order:
Druscillia
Emma
Vixen
Agni
Me
Druscillia swings and fails to connect, staying alive continuing to be her top priority.
Agni manages to finally sweep the leg of the robot, causing it to trip. Even before it falls, Emma's spell slams into it's body, bringing it that much closer to cascade failure.
While Sable spends her actions healing Agni, Vixen finishes the fight, Dropping the robot from her first attack. It lets out one low, mournful electronic cry, shudders profusely, and then lays still.
That's the combat! What now?

![]() |

"Whew. That was my kind of diplomacy!" Vixen goes to check out the door.
"It is dangerous here, Vixen. Let me provide some magical assistance."
Sable casts mage armor on the phantom.
"Agni, I don't think I said the words quite right. That is an... embarrassing activation. Would you like more healing? I could try your wand again."

Blushing at Sable's admittance, she grins shyly. "If you don't mind, i would appreciate it. As for the activation...I bought that wand because of the phrase...it's nice to hear sometimes. You know?"
Sheepishly, she steps closer to the caster and waits for the activation words to flow.
Glancing around the room, she asks, "I don't suppose that machine has anything useful on it?"

Hearing her name Vixen turns. "Sheesh! Have your girl time later little kit, there's heroic things to do. Does that thing have money or gems? I need a huge diamond. It was a diamond right, Sable?"
"Yes, a very big one, and enough money to buy a small abby."
"Well, money and that weird guy's friend are through the door yet. Help me Sable Renard, you're my only hope." Vixen pauses briefly waiting for a laugh at her "joke" then shrugs. "I should go ghosty again."
Vixen goes incorporeal again for further scouting.

Outside of combat, I'm fine with taking average for curative items, so each charge of a wand of cure light will heal 5. It just makes things go faster.
While the Mechanical creature itself had no weapons, armor, or items of magic, it does have a cannister that seems attached to the shoulder, but can swivel to allow one end to open and presumably fire some sort of ranged weapon.
Saving some time
It takes your group a little while but you manage to open the cannister and see that there are some nets inside, folded in an odd sort of way and made of what is decidedly not rope, but instead appears to be thin strips of incredibly resilient cloth.
I'm going to give you the description of the room, since you ghosted inside:
The northern wall of this otherwise empty metal room is a tangle of what look to have once been strange cages of some sort. Tangled amid the metal ribs of these cages are ribs of a more organic nature—the ancient bones of some sort of alien creature. Smaller mounds of rubble lie against the opposite wall.

"Creepy space alien zoo. I'm sure nothing bad will happen. NOT!" Vixen says tauntingly to the pile of bones.
"I guess we should follow. What is our marching order?"

"Neat rope." states Agni as she looks it over. "Any of you skilled in using them? As for the marching order, I'm ok with that."
Stepping forward, she falls into line next to Vixen.
