Hello, and welcome to being the second pick! Or maybe you're the third or fourth. Regardless, most people don't have much respect for you.
Who are you?
You are:
Beastmaster Ranger (PHB)
Way of the Four Elements Monk (PHB)
Wild Mage Sorcerer (PHB)
Battlerager Barbarian (Sword Coast)
Purple Dragon Knight Fighter (Sword Coast)
Undying Warlock (Sword Coast)
You may only be one of these six classes. I'll only accept one of each class. Starting Level is 8.
You may be any race from any book (standard humans get one free proficiency).
No multiclassing. No Feats. No Variant Human.
UA races accepted upon approval.
27 point buy.
All PCs start the game with one free feat from the following list:
Actor
Dungeon Delver
Healer
Inspiring Leader
Keen Mind
Linguist
Observant
Skulker
Starting Equipment: You start with all starting equipment as determined by your class, plus 500 GP.
Also, roll 4d10 for a special bonus.
I'll be running 2-3 modules, each module lasting 3-10 weeks. Modules TBD. I'm hoping to run a module at Level 8, 12, and 20.
I'll accept six players.
Can you prove all them naysayers wrong? Can you show that you're just as good - no, better - than those stuck up battlemasters and diviners and totem barbs and Hexblades and more? You're not the worst, and you'll show them wrong!

It'll be forgotten realms. I'll be running AL modules, I just haven't picked them out yet.
This idea came from a thread on another forum asking what the worst subclasses were. I believe that the "worst" really isn't all that much lower than the "best" in 5e. So I decided to put it to the test. If a group can make it through a few adventures at a couple of sample levels, then I'll be right*.
*This is in no sense of the word "scientific."

Dreaming Warforged |

I'm interested. I wish to know more about 5e. I play in one game, but this is only limited experience. I'm also very happy with your approach to sub classes. However, perhaps the limitations are more keenly felt when they are in a party of "better" ones?
As for the setting, I'd also like to know. It helps a lot when creating the rest of the rest ;)
I'll get back to you with a concept. Choosing a class might take me forever!
Edit: I'm drawn towards the warlock. We'll see if I can think of a neat idea for it.

bookrat |

I'll reappropriate an alt to make a Dwarf Battlerager barbarian.
For our setting based info, should we be thinking Golarion, Forgotten Realms, Grayhawk, or something else?
1d10; 1d10; 1d10; 1d10
I am going to take the Healer feat.
Your special items are: Weapon +1, Dust of Sneezing and Choking

Allie Hoop |

Here's caster's submission! A bumbling merchant's daughter who throws random magic at whatever problems her low int score gets her into.
All: Feel free to play a race without darkvision as I'll trade you my goggles of night for something. Or just loan them to you. They don't help me.
Question: Should I just roll a d20 for the chance of a wild magic surge every time I cast a spell of 1st level or higher? RAW, I would only do so when called to do so by the GM but the odds of a wild magic surge are low enough I want to make sure some of them happen. :) Also, can I make any assumptions about how often you'll call for a surge based on my 1st level feature?
"Any time before you regain the use of this feature, the DM can have you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. You then regain the use of this feature."

Wow! I got a lot more interest in this game than I thought I would.
Ok, let's see here. Who do we have?
Complete:
Caster - Wild Mage, Allie (items received)
Jubal - Monk, Edlethon (items needed)
Vrog - Barb, Kag (items received)
Dreaming - Warlock, Corso (items needed)
Daniel - Ranger, Farran (items needed)
Still building:
Grumbaki - PDK
DM - Unstated
Answers:
• I'm ok with the centaur.
• Setting only matters if you care about it. You don't have to be from the sword coast.
• Wild Magic on PBP is something I need to think about.

Sir Ardan |

Grumbaki here!
Gold: 5d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 2, 2) = 16 160+500+10= 670 gold
Basic strategy will be to charge with a lance (2d12+5 damage) and then use two weapon fighting style to switch to Longsword, Shield and Hooves. So, rather than doing Hit and Run tactics, this Knight will be about charging into combat and stomping his way to victory.
——-
Basic Background: Sir Aldan left his forest home when he came across a Knight in distress. Intrigued with tales of the world beyond his woodland home, Aldan joined the Knight on his adventures. This continued for (approximately 8 levels), until Aldan became Sir Aldan in his own right.
He now rides...well...trots...his way down the sword coast. Eager to earn glory for his order, and to see all of the sights and wonders that the world has to offer.

Ok, I've looked through everyone's characters and things seem ok for the most part.
The major issue I'm having is that I've grown accustomed to a certain style of character sheets and it's difficult to read all the varied styles used here. Information can be challenging to find.
Because of that, I'll ask everyone to reformat your character sheet to match this: Character Sheet
The sheet summarizes key aspects of the character, like general stats, proficiencies, and spells, and then uses spoilers to go in deeper into class/race abilities (where each feature was gained and when), equipment, background, and then a few other tags for extras.
You can remove the logsheet tag, we won't need that here.
A template of the sheet can be found here.
Once we get into game, I'll have you update your tagline as well. If you want a jump start on it, you can use the same format found in the linked character profile above.
Preliminary changes needed for a few specific people:
Also, you get your starting equipment + 500 GP. You don't roll for starting gold.
There may be more; it'll be easier for me to figure out once everyone has a uniform character sheet.

Allie Hoop |

Yeah it's tough for her. Would you allow criminal? She's only ever accidentally committed crimes but it looked pretty bad to the authorities when a strange young girl cast a spell to make it harder for bullies to hit the poor beggar girl in the town square and everything around her got engulfed in flames. Thankfully, they didn't really get a chance to ID her...
Will format shortly.
This is gonna be fun...

Assuming Grey is coming in with a trickery Cleric, I'm going to open up the game.
