Fei, of the Sun Soul
While Fei does his practices Vai is pensive, absently stroking the mithral dragonling who has taken up residence in her lap. So lost in her thoughts, she doesn't even notice when the sun peaks the horizon and Fei finishes his routine. She starts a bit as Fei moves up to her after he has finished, causing Nimceleb to take to the air with an annoyed noise. She looks up at him with a bit of an embarrassed smile. "Sorry, my mind was wandering. Breakfast?" that last word sounds very hopeful, and Fei remembers that her dragon form consumes many more calories than just being a half-elf, and she spent a considerable amount of time yesterday as a dragon.
At breakfast, Vai devours several plates quickly. Occasionally she gets withering glances from other girls who envy Vai's ability to eat so much while remaining skinny, but those glances fall unnoticed by Vai. Fei notes that despite her ravenous appetite, Vai is once again thoughtful at breakfast, much quieter than usual.
The combined events of the last 24 hours would be a lot for any person to deal with. Fei respects Vai's need for introspection through the morning katas. He does grow concerned, however, when she continues said introspection through breakfast...
"I hope nothing went wrong during your talk with Taron...?" Fei finally asks Vai at the table, during one of her pauses between platters. :)
Ghalen Kiln
Tyrrin knows that feeling. The drive to be successful, to be the best you can be. She nods, in acceptance of everything Ghalen had said.
"That's better." Tyrrin retorts to Ghalen's last quip. "Meet me in the observatory at lunch. I trust you can find your way?"
He blinks
"We have an observatory? I have been in the library too long.I'm sure the arrows can guide me, though."
He bows.
"I would say 'it's a date' but I don't want to press my luck." he says with a parting smile.

Vai shakes her head, causing her blonde hair to shimmer slightly in the light. "No. He was..." Vai searches for the right word... "contrite." It seems that Fei's vocabulary is rubbing off somewhat on the girl. ^.^ "He apologized - almost desperately - to me for last night. I... He was a good deal more open. I wasn't really prepared for that, I was expecting more anger. It's... difficult to seperate the events of last night from this morning. Almost like two different people."
Lang Fei
Ignace puts away the white fabric and pulls out a tape measure."We're sort of split by age. There aren't as many of us older students so they keep us all in one class, but there are also some younger students in our class. Including Chara. Mostly the younger ones who are in need of extra assistance for some reason or other. I think the idea is us older kids can help them so it doesn't all fall on the teacher."
"Stand up please. I need to get your measurements." In response to the inevitable look of confusion, "I'm making you a coat."
A bit aprehensive at first, Lang stands as Ignace directs.
Lang seems seems mixed, both excited and worried at the same time. wondering what Ignace has in store for him. is this the same girl that was afraid of my touch last night? Well no matter, She is definately warming up to me
Lang rolls his eyes at his own pun hardly realizing he never actually said anything to her.
So... about later today, think you and Chara can make it?
Lang glances out the door as other kids head to class.
shouldn't we get going? I don't want to be late on my first day
Aanandareavekki
Aananda couldn't believe what she was seeing. Didn't believe it. She started the scan again from the beginning. And got the same results.
"Ardiente, I need to run a few more tests. Would you mind very much giving me a small blood sample to work with? I don't usually resort to such intrusive tests, but these results are...unsettling."
Ardiente, of the Fuerte
The panic instantly welled back into being, and Ardiente's heartrate began to skyrocket. Hearing the increased beeping on the machine didn't help either.
Deep. Breaths. Remember your training.
After a good half minute used to calm down, Ardiente nods. "Yes, that's fine. Please. Anything I can do to help. What's unsettling about them?"

"We have ten whole minutes. Plenty of time," she says as she jots down the measurements into a notebook.
"Okay, that about does it. I'll just put these things back in my cupboard and drop off my breakfast tray. You can go ahead without me if you're worried about being late," she said, cheerfully.
"I'm sure Chara would be happy to play later on. I usually keep to the less populated areas of the gardens when I go outside. Often I just work through lunch time. I like that better."

"They're supposed to be impossible. I want to double check with a different machine. Here, hold your hand over this slide. I only need a drop," she said, taking a small needle and pricking Ardiente's finger catching the blood on the slide.
She placed the slide inside a tank and hit some more buttons as she began the analysis again. "I want to make sure that what I'm seeing isn't some sort of mechanical glitch before I say anything. I'm developing a theory and I'd prefer to be wrong."
GM Fireclaw
There's no mechanical glitch... unless it's with both machines. Aananda gets the same results.
Aanandareavekki
She sighed. "No. There's no need to worry. I know exactly what is causing your unique abilities. And I think I have an idea about why...and I think you're really, really not going to like it. It's not the sort of thing a firebird would take well generally speaking, although you were willing to acknowledge Fieri's existence so that's a good sign. Hang onto that progressive thinking. You're gonna need it."
"Oh, and sit down. No, don't bother with a chair. The floor is better. Less chance of falling."

If I remember right her mom is Chara's mom...Duh...and Chara's mom is a teacher, Oh great what will she think. Ok Lang, best behavior don't want to upset the parents
Anahita bint Tariq
History of Agartha, the basics of the world.
Anahita fidgeted in the class, sitting there with various young children, perhaps some even younger than herself. Never mind the fact that each one had the potential to be illusion covered, or some sort of shape shifter.
The mere thought of that fact, was annoying to her, but she said little of it. Thankfully, David had finally listened to reason to the wisdom she'd shared a day back. She wasn't quite sure why that was so important, and while listening to the teacher go on and on about the early days of the world, Anahita's attention strayed to other things as well.
Life outside the window held so much more interest, not sitting idle memorizing historical facts. It certainly was interesting, that the world was crafted and inside out, the sheer magics involved..
..and then it hit her. She was listening to the creation tale of a planet, and yet, it sounded as if these dragons were deities, by definition. So, if they were not, then, logically applying that same thought, which she found easily to do, the deities of Golarion and their 'creation' stories, were akin to this.
It was an affirmation of what she knew and felt, her practices and reverence for the Old Ways consistently trumped any of these so called deities, or their abilities to create things as a world. Perhaps even, preceded the-
"Miss! You, day dreaming, I've asked you a question twice now, are you ignoring me, or asleep?" The teacher asked Anahita, standing at the front.
Anahita blinked a few times and realized she'd fallen into a trance of sorts, delving into the thinking on these 'facts' that were triggered by a simple history class. She'd never been that deep of a thinking, and yet, this was shockingly new and stimulating.
"My apologies, Teacher. I was .. following a thought, that led me into a deep .." She thought of how to phrase it, "intense pursuit of a thought, working out a fundamental possibility. It had overwhelming-"
The Teacher snapped and interrupted, "I don't care. You are not taking this class seriously. If you keep this up, you will be sent to detention. This is your first warning, young lady. I do not abide day dreamers in my class. Pay attention."
Suddenly a thought popped into Anahita's mind, not due to any impatience but due to the practical application of existing tools, "Teacher, if it would help, my eagerness to learn this material if .. great, and I can easily memorize huge quantities of information, fast. Perhaps I could go to the library and read a book on this, versus annoying you while sitting here?"
A short few moments later, Anahita was knocking on the door to the Headmasters' with a note from the History teacher.
This student is not in the class to learn, please speak with her and arrange for proper schooling on how to learn without being disruptive.
She knocked and lamented her outburst, but surely that was better than spending hours over the course of being here, just to sit and listen to someone drone on when it could be learned independently much faster.
Perhaps the Headmaster would understand. Perhaps this was fate. She wasn't sure anymore really why she had been sent here. Regardless, she pushed back her doubts and focused.
Knocking on the Headmaster's door, and using his door announcement keypad, she waited to meet the one in charge.

EDIT:he takes the spoon
"... it's a illusion. a spoon made to look and feel like a coin. heh." 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 will to disbelieve.
"dang it! i can't see though!" he gets really pissed, and the spoon's illusion flickers. "uh..." he drops the spoon, and it returns to being a coin.
GM Fireclaw
Alright, is anyone else creeped out that Anahita channeled Professor Relkav perfectly, despite having never met him in-game?
Aanandareavekki
Yes, Taron, you're very perceptive.
"Well, to begin with your DNA is not a hundred percent firebird."
"I thought it was impossible because the wishcraft causes our kind to breed true regardless of the race of our mate, but it's possible that it would not work that way if the person that the dragon was breeding with was not their bonded mate...."
"So I should probably re-introduce myself. Hi, I'm your Aunt Aananda. Your grandfather was my insane and more than kinda evil brother Chan'trikalliax...which means your grandmother was probably not a willing participant in that...It was probably some sort of crazy experiment...or not. It's hard to imagine what motivated Chan. There was something broken inside his mind. So anyways, that's why you can do earthbending....ummm....are you okay?"

"Yes, of course, it is fine, Lang," she said primly.
She grabbed her tray and headed out into the hallway with Lang. She flinched every time another child ran past, sticking close to the wall to avoid bumping into anyone. He got the impression that school was a very stressful thing for her.

1) I have not read the entire backlogs, preferring to learn about the setting through play, much more enjoyable in my own opinion.
2) I did mention detention.
3) It's not hard to make a cranky 'teacher', having experienced numerous of them in life.. and outside of life. I just didn't want to go over board, since at any time I'm certain a GM might come along and retcon my efforts to make an NPC / scene since I'm just a player. :)
Call it creativity. That's what I am playing on this for.
Additionally, sorry to add to the spam of OOC chatter on the Gameplay, but when in Rome. ;)
Cheers.
Ardiente, of the Fuerte
Ardiente was glowing just a little from the fire inside him, wanting to break free. He wanted to do something. Yell at Aananda, scream at the world. Fly back to the sun and challenge his parents. A myriad of emotions played across his face. Anger, fear, despair. It wasn't true. He was a Firebird. His bloodline was pure! If it was true... what did he have left to be proud of?!
"You're WRONG!" He shouted, standing up, suddenly angry. Just like a flash of fire, the anger was gone, and Ardiente fell to his knees. "You're wrong..." he sobbed, curling up, refusing to face the facts.
Aanandareavekki
"I'm sorry. I know this is hard for you. It's never easy finding out that everything you thought you knew was wrong," she said sympathetically.
Aanandareavekki
Also... wouldn't that be Great Aunt? Feel old yet? More soon, people are starting to arrive for my RL session tonight.
I simplified. Also, technically, by draconic terms, I'm still a teenager...and yet I have a great-nephew and will have 11 grandchildren in a few months....no, this is more like the dragon version of 16 and pregnant. ;P

every flinch Ignace makes Lang can almost feel it. Finaaly He sees enough after a couple of boys get close as if on purpose.
LAng steps up beside Ignace and forms a mild wind barrier around them not strong enough to harm people but enough to warrent attention of anyone trying to get close.
He looks to Ignace I'm sorry but I hate seeing you like that
Lang keeps it up till they get to class.
Ignace del Sol
Ignace looked surprised as she realized she didn't have to worry about walking down the hall.
"Thank you," she said, with what might have been the faintest wisp of a smile.
When they get to class Ignace chooses a desk in the back corner of the classroom a little bit away from the others.
Lang Fei
Lang takes an open seat in the class It may not be next to Ignace as there are probably limited seats.
before he sits down he bows to the teacher I am sorry about the wind I hope it didn't disturb you
He then takes his seat glancing about the room realizing he probably just embarassed himself with the apology
a sudden cough from the back breaks the awkward silence
did that cough sound like "Teacher's pet"?

"I try not to do unnecessary damage here let me heal that shoulder cut there" his hands catch flame and touch his shoulder healing heat it doesn't heal much just 5hp per power point, ill spend three but that should be enough to heal the nick on his shoulder the fire flows into his shoulder and knits it back up unless something bad happens

"Look I don't really care how it should be done, I'm kind of a pragmatist that way, I think rules are pointless if they get in the way. We tried the supposed way and no luck. But I picked up you shut the magic thing off any how, How I have no idea, buy you did it man and for a moment I could see the spoon. So why not just try that, how about holding it with your eyes closed. Then think 'There is no coin magic' you know its magic so despite all visual, physical, or mental evidence to the contrary, the thing in question will cease to exist as magic you know, letting you see have only the spoon in your hand. EDIT and edited again
Seeing what Adon just did Johnny has an idea
"Magic, a kid seeing a coin vanish in dadys hand thinks its magic, If I went to any 5 or down Civ, me and storm zipping along in Hpyerspace we would be seen as magic, you know, ZPE and Anti-mater devices, hell I have 6 micrograms of AM in my head. Ye all that would been seen as magic, until you know how its done. This coin come spoon, its call magic because HOW of it is not known, you just get some rubbish about inherent magic fields but whats behind them. I I think every thing you know is wrong, mum and dad filled you head with mombojumbo"
Johnny takes the coin and flips it
"All Civ's go thought a stage they know what things do but not how they work really, they can replication things by using processes but how on a fundamental level it works not a clue. Like saying fire Demons live in Gunpowder, you do a complex set of ritual wile making of the stuff to make them happy, then one day you for get the rituals and the stuff still go's bang. At that moment you have to change your way off thinking, free it up man, start to think out side what you have been told. I just get the feeling that kind of thinking is holding you back. Ya said you mum and dad did magic right, well I bet they told you all about the rules and rituals and nothing about HOW it really worked. What I am saying is you need to unlearn all that stuff and start from what you know, Like an experimenter realizing making the fire Demons happy in the gunpowder dos nothing really. I sour the spoon OK, thing about just that, forget every thing about magic you know and just be free of it, be free to be the action that made that spoon come into view. No thinking just doing, it how I fly man, I know all the logic and rules of flying I but I make myself forget it all, and just be the movement, that turn man. Freedom from you past, from the things you think you should do, the hours of rules and controls other place on us. braking free of all that is what matter, when you do that you can do anything, be any thing, like becomes moments and actions."
At this point johnny has his eyes closes and shes just in that thought.
Its what Johnny is, at her very core, you can feel it, its pour out of him, simple and beautiful freedom.
Johnny opens his eyes
"Just stop thinking, just be the action take that pain and range and let it out man, I can see it I can feel it, come on let it out, set it free, lose control for once in your life "
Johnny holds Adon hands
Ok johnny will help you here, hes going to set you free how is up to you and you get just 8 seconds but you can do a lot in 8 seconds NO SELF CONTROL hehe. By using Liberation Domain and counter power, what ever is blocking you emotions man, I have a feeling its emotion that drives you anit-magic so why not freak out you call man. Trust me you will not freak out Johnny PS it has to be big for Johnny backstory thanks, we are about to get in a lot of trouble.
