The chaos goes on around Tyrrin while she lectures the kitsune on the merits of sentient creatures: (Ironic, for people who have been here a while) "[...] and so you see Master Krisilanni, that evil is a choice. While people may be predisposed to be more aggressive, or have less restraint than others, evil is something that you do, not something you are." As if suddenly realizing how long her lectuer took, she looks around. The group had enlarged signifcantly since she had first offered the tour. Tyrrin grimaced briefly before speaking up again, the loud commanding tone returning. "Alright, since the Headmaster is going to be kept busy for a while yet, I'll give anyone who would like to join me a short tour of the school. Anyone who would like to come, please follow me." Turning on her heel, Tyrrin began a brisk pace, though still mindful of those who may have shorter legs. "Feel free to ask me any questions you might have."

The closest thing of interest was the entrance to the gardens, and so Tyrrin led the group there, stopping just inside. The gardens are lush and green, with innumerable exotic plants, with water features dotting the land here and there. "A quick warning about our gardens. Treat them with respect, and the plants will do the same for you. The groundskeeper isn't very forgiving either. Any questions?"

Balamor steps through the door and looks around, "I'm on the roof? Why in the Nine blazing Hells am I on the roof?" He turns to go back through the door, "Why does this always happen," he mutters to himself as he realizes its locked.

A lone teenaged elf boy is seated in the garden as Tyrrin gives her speech. His eyes are closed, and he is nestled among some long-stemmed flowers. He looks peaceful, his blond hair looks as though it hadn't seen a pair of scissors in a long time. A red scarf is wrapped around his face, despite the late summer heat.

A smile flashes across his face. "I am new but I am no student. I am Salis a scholarly monk of the order of Bletherad. Well I guess ex monk or the order is more appropriate. I will be your new magical theory teacher, and you are one of the dragons that I have heard rumor of. May I ask what kind of dragon you are?" The news he had been sitting with a dragon seemed to almost not phase him.

Vai almost seems to start when Salis mentions her his knowledge about her being a dragon, before relaxing a moment later. "Sorry, I keep forgetting that it's common knowledge now. Um, I'm not really a dragon. But my scales are blue when I transform. It's... a little complicated." Vai looks longingly back at her food, but doesn't abandon the conversation. "I think I might have that class Mr. Salis. My mother says I should learn more about the theory rather than just the practical applications, and I agree. What is the Order of Bletherad?"

The kitsune had just stared and not said a word as the elf prattled on, not really paying attention to her after she was trying to defend the undead, making him a little less tense due to his affliction, but still tense in the fact that she may be an enemy after all. Well, he did think that, until the elf said his name, having never stated it at all to her.

"Wait...how did you..." he started to ask before she just turned around and started to walk off. Just too curious and slightly annoyed, he followed her to the garden, and knew already to respect plants; it was obvious to him, and he thought it was obvious to others. Still, some of the plants were new to him, but when she asked if anyone had questions, he took his chance.

"Yeah; how the hell did you already know my name?" he asked, knowing that even though he should be famous, he wasn't, so no one around the school except maybe teachers should know about him. "And how did you know I was even reaching for a dagger back there? And was going to attack the undead?" Being a little miffed at her helped him think with a clear mind, instead of going into his "pretty girl" mode.

a multy hued floating rock comes into view roughly halfagain the size of a standard psi crystal, it relays this back to David and after him telling the rock to join them the rock floats to three feet away from the guide and says "that would be most helpful, I am Skeets, I am here as a proxy for David, who is.. Busy"

You introduced yourself. Just your first name though, which is why she didn't use your last name.

Tyrrin arched an eyebrow at the fox. "Elven eyes see much my friend. and when you grow up in a court full of intrigue, you don't take chances when someone draws a knife."

Tyrrin also gives the crystal a nod, to indicate she had heard it. He was a psion then. Like Mother.

Ok I see this game does move fast at times. Ok note to self skip face to face game...nah.. that game is getting to good (just finished region A of World's Largest Dungeon)

Lang grabs Chara's hand now hold on Lang spreads the folds of his robe once more and the air currents around him give him lift and off they go flying through the halls back to where Sun had taken his statue form.

at the moment Chara sees a statue of a baboon in a fighting stance with a staff.

Chara walked around the statue looking at it curiously.

"Is it hard carrying him around everywhere?" she asks, puzzled.

once at Sun, I hope that wasn't a teacher he whispers to Chara

"I don't know," Chara whispers back. "At least, that isn't one of the teachers I've met before...She's big."

Well, crap, now I look like an idiot. Sorry.

"Not like I was gonna use it for anything bad," the kitsune said under his breath, doing his best to make sure that the elf couldn't hear him. "Well, then, what are the most dangerous plants in here?" he then asked, just shrugging off the fact that he still felt that the elf had x-ray vision or something. Probably was looking at his rear under his two tails, as well.

"Well, that's understandable," Raelle started to say when she was interrupted by a group of girls descending on their table.

"Raelle!" Ginni squealed, hugging her friend whether Raelle was okay with it or not. "It's so good to see you! The summer was sooo boring at home....and who's your cute new friend," she added favoring Dave with a flirty smile.

"Don't mind her, she's always like that," another of the three girls said dryly. "I believe the term is 'boy-crazy'," she added, laughing at Ginni's fake pout.

"And don't let Tamina fool you...she's just as bad as Ginni," Morrivan said laughing.

"All of them." A halfling woman answers, stepping out of a hedge. "New students here already, Ms. Denulia?"

Raelle shook her head and laughed.

"Guys, this is Dave. Dave, these are my friends, Ginni," she pointed to the flirty tiefling, "Tamina," she pointed to the only slightly more reserved half-elf, "and Morrivan," she pointed to the (presumably) human girl.

Chara walked around the statue looking at it curiously.

Krisilanni just looked over at where the hedge rustled, and almost snickered at the size of the creature that spoke to them, but he refrained, knowing it wouldn't be suiting to someone of his caliber.

"Adilsa, huh?" he asked, having never really heard of such a name before. "Well, if you don't mind me asking, are there any herbs or plants in here with properties that may increase bloodflow?"

"It helps that I teach Botany and tend the entire garden by myself."

Tyrrin turned to the halfling. "Yes, the Headmaster was a bit swamped. I'm giving them a tour of the school. Students, this is Adilsa, our groundskeeper. She'd be more qualified to answer your questions about the garden."

the rock humms in acnolagement and you hear in whatever language you prefer "thank you, miss" he then repeats the question to the groundskeeper"

"Several, if prepared right. Balkayear berries, furith root, and the leaves of a gunirt tree, just to name a few."

"I offer the class every semester, at different levels of difficulty. If you let the Headmaster know you're interested, he'll do his best to put you in my class."

:you can see a moderately large boat floating in the air, tethered to the roof,

at the place it is tethered there is a sign labeled "property of David De' Foul, as a note to the staff, the boat will be moved at earliest opportunity"

Hearing the voice of Tyrrin and Adilsa, Ehos snaps out of his trance, and proceeds to get up and wave to his sister. He ambles over to the group, completely silently, bowing to Adilsa and the garden before settling in near the back of the group.

The family resemblence between Tyrrin and Ehos is clear as he joins the group. Tyrrin acknowledges him only with a quick "Good afternoon brother." before leading the group on, thanking Adilsa for her time.

Next stop was the beginner labs and workshops. Tyrrin goes through the various explainations: all the labs, forges, workshops, etc. in this wing are available to students at all times. The advanced labs require either special permission, or classwork, as they tend to be a little more dangerous.

Was gonna post more, but I gotta go back to work now. Feel free to ask questions/whatever while I'm off.

"Your not really a dragon, but you can transform in to one? Sometime you'll have to explain it, Once your comfortable telling me at least." When he started the conversation it was only for small talk, but his attention was grab by her saying she's not a dragon but has blue scales. Salis knew of many ways of becoming a dragon temporarily but none of them were complicated to tell about.

"I think I might have that class Mr. Salis. My mother says I should learn more about the theory rather than just the practical applications, and I agree.

"That's a good way to think. With a good basis in theory a decent caster can learn to harness the arcane energies with less of ones own strength. I'm sure you or you have seen other become fatigued from there casting. Theory also is the most direct way of understanding what is needed for a spell to be created. Oh and just call me Salis."

What is the Order of Bletherad?"

"The Order of Bletherad the simplest way to explain it would be. That it is an order of scholastic monks who put knowledge as one of the most important things a being can have. They are also extreme pacifists. It is also the place way raised." A slight smile reviles that it was a good childhood. "Well the order is but a moot point any way no one can get to them from here and I can not return to the order. If you wish go ahead a eat I understand the need. I myself should eat as well I have been putting it off for too long."

Well you see I am a guradian spirit assingned to keep my charge here true to his vows. I cannot directly stop him but I do at times act as his concious. being a statue is my way of going back to my spiritual self to...the monkey fumbles for the right words.

Marra's eyes light up as Mr.Sunh transforms into a miniature earth elemental and she looks as if she is barely restraining herself from hugging the shrunken mr.Sinh as well her voice slips into a strange language as she speaks.

Vakkler turns back to watch Sinh's transformation. "Of course," he mutters, "either they're mages, or they're dead."

The small elemental turns his sparkly eyes on Vakkler, "Oh, no, Master Vakkler. I'm a dabbler at most. I rely on my mop more than anything else." He clasps the mop's handle as if to prove the point.

Sinh's grey granite face turns to something closer to rosy quartz... possibly a blush? He responds shyly in the same gravelly language.

Since folks are sharing some of their build ideas, figured I'd toss this up...

Mr. Sinh is based off the question "What skills, powers, and spells would make for the badassest janitor in the universe?"

My answer is a Monk/Sorcerer (Elemental Earth bloodline) of pretty decent levels. He isn't optimized by any stretch of the imagination. I purposefully picked his spell list biased towards spells that had fun 'custodial' uses... either in terms of 'cleanup' or in preventing him from being killed by the various toxic substances and nasty creatures a janitor at an occult school is likely to encounter. With all the races and magic present, you can imagine that cleaning up a flooded bathroom is likely to be a CR15 encounter. :) Mr. Sinh is designed to handle it. He also has a WICKED 'Profession: Janitor' roll.

I will be posting his full character sheet if any cares to view it, when I'm happy with the format.

A young man sits at a table with the parts of two guns spread out before him. His short black hair spiky. His supple fingers cleaning and reassembling both guns leaving two beautifully crafted weapons. The guns themselves look like oversized desert eagles made of adamantine with mithrial accents along their sides.

He stands up and slides both guns in their holsters with a flourish revealing 4 spare clips set along each leg for quick reloading hidden inside his red trench coat. His clothing beneath it is a black sleeveless outfit with red stitching. Just before he slips on custom made sunglasses his strangely colored crimson eyes seem to glow.

"Alright who blew up the gym this time?" He snaps as he stalks towards Mr. Sinh. "I certainly hope it wasn't anyone who would be missed." He says with a wicked grin revealing his pointed canines.

Don't use it myself, but it doesn't bother me. I just don't use it cause it make me feel like I'm shouting all the time. Sure, I may imagine that your character has a bit of a hearing problem so talks loudly all the time, but that's just a personal thing. ^.^

Well, for now I think that DB3 and I are taking turns 'driving the boat'. Others may get a chance to run encounters as things go on, but it's better to get used to the format first. (The first rule is, if you're running the encounter find some way to take your character out of the action.) And I'm really glad you're enjoying it. :)

(The first rule is, if you're running the encounter find some way to take your character out of the action.) And I'm really glad you're enjoying it. :)

This game is basically continually open, so if you have a character concept you're just dying to try out please consider yourself invited. :)

Would the format be spelled out in this thread? Or was there a Gamer Connection Thread I should be looking for to get how you guy are running this?

No immediate ideas have come to mind, but if any do, I'll be sure to drop them in here to see if you guys like'em.

Well, for now I think that DB3 and I are taking turns 'driving the boat'. Others may get a chance to run encounters as things go on, but it's better to get used to the format first. (The first rule is, if you're running the encounter find some way to take your character out of the action.) And I'm really glad you're enjoying it. :)

This game is basically continually open, so if you have a character concept you're just dying to try out please consider yourself invited. :)

Would the format be spelled out in this thread? Or was there a Gamer Connection Thread I should be looking for to get how you guy are running this?

I'm heading out from school now, and off to pick up kidlet at his school. I don't know if I'll have internet at home since a lightning strike knocked out the cable at my apartment complex last night and I don't know if they've fixed it yet. But I'll be on again in the morning if I have to drive in to school on my day off. A short 16 year old looking kid steps into the Headmaster's office, his short, wiry frame carried by quick, springy steps. His bright orange short-sleeved shirt is untucked from his loose dark blue-gray pants, from which peek the toes of his brightly-colored shoes, and two drumsticks are not quite hidden in his back pockets. He hands a folded and sealed paper to the headmaster, the word Despin'lashahzman'Slisterbahn crawling across the front in a flowy script.

He cocks his head to the side as if he heard something - though you haven't made a sound - and looks over at you, meeting your eyes. A quick winning smile flashes towards you just before his face becomes a smaller but perfect mirror of your own with its tongue sticking out. After a second, his face flashes back to his own, and the grin returns as his he turns back to the reading Headmaster, fingers drumming on the front of the massive desk, head nodding to his own rhythm.

So Despin'lashahzman'Slisterbahn is ready to roll, if you still want him. Oh, but you can call him Spin for short. :)

He's all doppleganger, but a kid.. .maybe 15 or 16. I'm still fleshing out his background, but I now have a solid personality and set of mechanics. He's a rogue, but mostly for the skill selection and athletic bent of the class, I dont' know how much i'll be pushing for sneak attacks. And he's not a trapfinder at all, so i'll be switching out those mechanics with some kind of APG alternate class feature. Maybe acrobat or something. Basically, he's a sarcastic, fun-lovin' kid who loves physical activity and hates anything that could really be called "work". Loves people. Loves fun.

Oh, forgot to mention. I actually see this guy as being kind of a doppleganger savante. The doppleganger entry (at the end) says there are variants out there that can actually shapechange using Polymorph spell instead of simply ALter Self. I kidn of see this kid that way. He can change quickly into practically anything living between the size Tiny to Large. Thoughts?

Ok after reading the original thread I totally want a short range teleporter. Think deadpool's from marvel. It would go about 50ft at most or something of that nature.

Will his teleports be accompanied by a 'BAMF!' bubble? :)

The short version is that he's actually a half-blood doppleganger, having human blood from his mother. She raised him regardless of his freak-ness, only realizing she was not capable of continuing to nurture and teach him as he needed as he got into his mid teens. The long version will be up some time today.

Lynora, DB3, what do you think? Should I jump in? Is he gonna fit? Do you want to do the intro for the guy when the story makes sense?

Okay, well, it's up to you. It would be unusual for a guy and girl to room together, but exceptions can be made.

Exceptions as in most were scared of Asch needing a bite to drink :)
