Vai is hesitant at first but eventually holds onto Ephebe's hand tightly, running as fast as she can.
"Yeah," she said, clinging closely to Michael. "I'm so sorry. I just froze up. That's just unexcusable for a ninja," she said, blinking back tears."Maybe you should just be Kitty then." He replies as he leads her out of the basement. "Then you wouldn't have to worry about what is excusable or not."

"Kitty, you survived a demonic invasion. You didn't go crazy when people couldn't remember you, and you came here all on your own to find a way to turn off the forgetfulness. If they can't be proud of you if you decide not to be a ninja, then that is their problem and they will have an infestation of Saffires to deal with."

She sniffled. "Well, your idea for an exotic pet and familiars store does sound like a lot more fun than spying on people and sneaking in places. I've worked hard at it for as long as I can remember because all of my family are ninja and ...I am the way I am, I mean, a tiefling and all, because one of my ancestors er....got it on with a demon just to give our family better stealth powers and boy, oh boy, did it ever work...but it was never something I chose. I mean, I never got to choose anything...I don't even know what I want...."

When they finally arrive the trouble seems to be over and there is nothing to deal with but minor injuries. Ephebe pulls out her Caster and fires off a few healing rounds to deal with the minor injuries.
"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" she asked a little exasperated at the general hysteria.

"That made me hungry." He heads to the lunch line...
"Well, you want people to stop forgetting you, that's a start. Maybe working towards that will help you figure out what else you want too." Michael gives Kitty a quick hug and Saffire meeps encouragingly at her. "Hey, if it's still on, do you want to go to the concert tomorrow? We can dress Saffire like a rock star, maybe stick a little spiky wig on him."

She was happy again. Good, he didn't like it when she cried.

"And I'd love to go to the concert. I guess that would be our second official date," she said, smiling shyly. Her smile seemed a little strained still, but overall she was starting to bounce back from the shock of the zombie attack.
"Heh, hope it goes better than when I took you to the tower in town. There won't be any mermaids trying to flirt with me at the concert." Michael explains with a wink.

She giggled. "That's a good thing. I'm not sure if I could restrain my jealousy if you turned out to have girlfriends everywhere we went," she teased.
"Oh, that's just great!" Michael says dramatically while rolling his eyes. "Now I can't take you to anywhere!"

"Probably not." Alton says as he drops down from above. "No altar for the remains, no summoning circles, no incense or creepy guys in robes chanting nonsensical words over and over... So, yeah, probably has nothing to do with the demon attack."

Ephebe looked at the newcomer warily. He knew about Krays? Well, he didn't seem to be an immediate threat...maybe he was alright....

Enre follows everyone else as they leave the basement his helm turning back to his mask and cloak as they move. He listens to everyone as they speak wondering a few things himself before saying "Hello" To the people he had spoken to before.

Nasima finds herself in a hallway not too far from the pools, where she was helping students escape the now-melting and sludgy zombie things. Loping lightly down a hall, she jumps effortlessly over a large puddle of ex-zombie goop.
"Gross."
The ground starts vibrating around her and there is the sound of massive footsteps.
"Ah g-geez, n-not againnnn!" Peering around a corner, she spies a giant metal man thundering down the hall with that utterly unmistakable new-student look. "*whew* Thought it-t was m-more of 'em!" His footsteps shake the ground hard enough they cause the whip-thin and petite sylph to stutter a bit. She steps around the corner and waves .
"Hi there! You another new kid? I'm Nasima. Nice to meetcha."
Aananda sighed as she started to sort through the destruction.
"If anyone sees Fei, tell him to start doing jumping jacks or something, anything, to charge up those cuffs. We don't have enough residual power stored to make it for the length of time it's going to take to fix the systems."

And if you happen to have any extra time, I could use a hand repairing the power generators. I'm thinking of taking the boilers offline altogether and putting in power cells similar to what is used on startships. I could use your feedback on the practicality of that plan though.::
Solivala takes a moment. Then tosses his clockwork gate before him, it opens and what looks like a great pack of metallic wolves the size of horses come pouring out. He motions toward whats left of the zombies.
"Destroy any of those you encounter then take up guard positions. I will update you as needed."
One of the wolves goes over to seeming sniff the stuff then lets out a howl. The wolves take off. One of his orbs shoots off to Jim reporting that he is to follow it back to Aananda.

"And this is Vai. It's her first day. I guess she arrived post fiend attack which is good for her it sounds like. Ummm...she's still feeling a bit shy. Avalon is a bit much to take in all at once. Vai, this is Krays. He may look a little scary to you, but I promise, he's a good guy, and my closest friend here. I'm sure he'll be happy to help you too as you're adjusting, okay? And this is Alton, who I know about as much about as you do since I've only just met him too."

As Nasima pops her head around the corner, Jim skids to a stop, bringing up a mass of sparks behind him. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Nasima. I'm Jim. Jim Rivets. I'm not quite a new student yet. I was supposed to wait for the headmaster to see me, but then these things came up, and I decided to help with cleaning them up."
As the orb reaches Jim, he says "Uh-huh. Well, it was nice meeting you Nasima, and I'm sure we'll see more of each other sooner later. I've gotta go see Aananda for something though."
The Panel on his back opens again, his thrusters ignite, and he's off, following the orb at breakneck speed.

Fei is jogging through the halls when he hears (and feels) a loud rumbling from somewhere nearby. He pulls up fast at an T-intersection as a pack of metallic dire wolves thunder by him at speed.
The monk waits a moment, looks both ways down the hallway to make sure it is clear, then turns and heads in the direction they came from. (^-^)

Vai tilts her head forward as Vai is introducing her, and sinks into a curtsy. This has the added effect of her hair falling in front of one side of her face, so only one eye is visible, and she doesn't make eye contact with any of the new faces. She still has her manners though: "Hello, my name is Vai Emkar. Please to meet you." After introducing herself, Vai is quiet throughout most of the conversation, though Krays may notice that she is regarding him with interest, though is attempting to hide it.

She frowned a little. He was looking worried again. Definitely time for a distraction.
"Would you like me to kiss it better?" she asked with an impish grin.
Standing, hands on hips in the doorway, Nasima takes in her room. "Nifty!" Well, but then I was only gone, like, a couple months or whatever, not forever.
She strides across the room, careful not to disturb any of Ephebe's stuff, and changes out of her frankly quite nasty workout duds. After a quick shower she returns, gets into some clean yoga pants and a tank, and sits on her tatami mat. It was long past time to practice, and there was a reckoning with Khoda she was going to have to face at some point in the next couple days, to be certain. For now, though, she would just Center herself.
She sits in lotus position and closes her eyes. Her markings slow to a crawl and her hair settles into a giant cumulus poof on her head, looking for all the world like a great big platinum afro.
Eventually, she begins to float.
"Hello, Vai. Nice to meet you." He smiles, which is hard for a kobold...but no less genuine. "What an odd time to be transferred here. I promise, it's not usually this...dangerous, or exciting."
"Oh, and Ephebe, Nasima's back, if you didn't know."
Walks up and claps his hand on Enre's back/
"Hey big guy, you did great down there." He indicates Ephebe and Krays "I dunno if you've met them yet, but the little guy there is Krays, and that with him is Ephebe. Those were the two Fei mentioned as good people. I trust Fei's opinion, so..."
Turns to Ephebe and Krays and bows formally.
"Nice to meet you guys, finally. I am Ryuzo Kato, of the Mole clan, and the strong silent guy here is Enre, if you haven't met."
