This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

The young monk catches up his girlfriend in a big hug "Raelle, you really are a genius! Let's go!" With that, he grabs her hand, and they make their way to the hangar, and the mission control center.

They hurried to the hangar and Raelle was impatient with the security scan even though it was fairly quick, and then they were inside the ready room, a large room lined with lockers for all of the pilots to store their flight suits when not in use. Lockers were marked with their call names rather than their real names. Through that room was a hallway lined with training rooms, and at the end of that hallway was the entrance to the hangar proper, the mechs inside lined up in rows like toy robot soldiers....except their size made them seem like anything but toys. There is a stairway leading up to the catwalks where the command center was located. Raelle barely even glanced at the mechs as they passed them on their way up the stairs she was so focused on finding out if her sister was okay. The control center was located on a large platform looking over the hangar. It was lined with various machines and computers all focused right now on basic surveillance. There were only a couple of people here now, although there was clearly enough room for a much larger crew. Presumably they had more people here during active missions.

One of the on-duty crew looked up and saw them. He frowned, and his tail twitched. He appeared to be some sort of simian species. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.
Raelle stepped forward with a smile, her hand extended. "I'm Raelle del Sol," she said, noticing how his frown cleared up when he found out who she was. "Ardiente was just showing me around since I haven't been here before. James told me I would be spending some of my time working here in the control center going forward. I'd love it if you could show me how things work here. You know how important it is to get a head start with him," she said sympathetically.
The simian rolled his eyes. "He forgets the rest of us can't keep up with him," he agreed. "My name is Sighru. I'm just a junior tech here, so I don't know how much I can help you, but we can at least try and go over the basics."

Jiween smiled, clearly pleased with this response. "Do you see that big oak tree over there? The one with all the ribbons tied to the branches? We'll be there. I'll be waiting for you, so don't take too long. You wouldn't want to miss the dancing," she said, blowing him a kiss before heading back to her friends, giggling as she let them know her invitation had been accepted.

Meanwhile Lira looked like she wanted to physically peel Liren's two admirers off of him. They were being...embarassingly inappropriate for the situation. She glared at her brother, but didn't yet dare to actually say anything out loud in front of the 'guests'.

Fei looks to the festooned oak tree, and nods. "We shall do our best not to miss it," he replies with a smile. (^-^)

He then bows to Jiween as she returns to her companions. The young monk's visage grows thoughtful again once he is out of her sight, remembering Tyrrin's warning. He sends some of his nanites to scout out the area around the tree just in case.

Havel the Bishop wrote:

"I wasn't arguing that it was unnecessary. It's still a good idea. I just felt like you seemed... Concerned. Anyway..." Havel gets up on the chair with a decent bit of effort, and starts to unbuckle his leg platings. The armor is so skintight it looks as if he's taking off his flesh. Underneth the armor is pale, cloudy scales, looking borderline withered and aged. On the back of his leg is a huge black spot that can be seen through his rather translucent scales. the black spot is deep and vile, well into his mucles. The area glows with all sorts of wretched, toxic magic, and the area shows signs of necrosis. "we've tried all sorts of magic to fix it. Remove desease, poison, curse, each followed by healing spells. Nothing seems to do any good."
Ryleh frowned. "That is quite a bit worse than I expected. I can run the scan, but I'm not a physician, and I think we're going to need one to look at that. Especially given its resistance to being treated by magical means. Lean back against the chair," she said, pulling a long extendable arm away from the wall and positioning it over Havel's head. "This will be a full body scan. It won't hurt. The scanner just passes over your body and collects data as it goes." As she begins to run the scanner over him the screens switch from showing landscape pictures and instead display the data from the scan as it is being collected, although one would have to be trained to understand any of it. "This will be the baseline for your medical records," she said, putting the arm back into its resting position against the wall and hitting some buttons on the screen of one of the displays until a pleasant voice can be heard saying, 'Now paging attending physician, Dr. Zeppler to exam room five.' [I]Ryleh sighed. "Of course. Well. This should be interesting."

Havel settles in a bit. "what concerns me more then the wound itself is that the sword that did this is still out there somehwere."

The exam room door opens a few minutes later, and a halfling man in scrubs and a white coat strides in, fingers rapidly tapping on a datapad as it uploads the scan data for his review.

"Well, we do live in interesting times, my lady" Zeppler says with an easy smile and a twinkle in his eyes. "It's good to see you too, Ms Ryleh." ;)

"Now, what's the story with this young man here?," the good doctor asks her, steering their conversation to the unconventionally draconic humanoid in the chair.

"Dr. Zeppler," Ryleh says coolly, with a nod. "This is Havel. He was wounded in his leg some time ago with a weapon that was likely of Hunter origin. Designed to kill dragons in other words. The wound has festered in a most troubling way. Healing magics of all sorts, including neutralize poison, remove curse, and remove disease have failed to have any effect, and you can see for yourself that the flesh around the wound is beginning to rot. I ran a scan already, but as I am not a physician, I am not qualified to interpret the results in a case this complex. I am concerned that the toxic effects from this wound might spread into the rest of his body if left alone."

Liren flushed with angry embarrassment at these comments from those he considers beneath him, and he opens his mouth to say something when he is interrupted by Lira.

"Truly, brother," she said through clenched teeth, accompanied by an icy glare, "you must recall our duties as hosts."
Liren turned nearly purple with rage at this and the girls who had been flirting with him both gave Lira evil glares. "My apologies, ladies," Liren said smoothly in spite of his temper, "but my sister is correct. I am neglecting our honored guests. I hope that I will see you later. I look forward to dancing with you both." The girls both kissed him quickly before running off to rejoin their group.
"We should continue. You wouldn't want to miss out on any of the ceremony. It's quite special," Lira said, her tones honeyed sweet once more.

"Ah. Those Hunters. So we're dealing with the kind of gear that kills neither quickly nor mercifully. And this is why you don't let zealots make weapons," he finally answers with a sigh as he returns to the scans - specifically the wounded leg.

"I need to know what kind of necrosis we're dealing with before we go any further. Let's see here....."

Liren doesn't hide his annoyance well at this, but looking around there doesn't seem to be anyone else approaching. This plan to let them cause trouble seems to be failing due to the group being on such good behavior. Liren sulkily leads the way to the viewing box, trading occasional glares with his sister.

The box contains a set of raised wooden bleachers so that the group can have a clear view of the stage in spite of being quite far back from it. While seats are provided for them, the elves gathered here are mostly standing, though a few have brought their own chairs or picnic blankets for the occasion.

Jaiye climbed the stairs to the bleachers first, ignoring the irritation of their guides as she took the seat on the far end of the first bench, leaving plenty of room for the others to sit. She wasn't happy that the box was so far back. This wasn't what they had discussed. It might cause problems. There were definitely too many people who could cause her problems between here and the stage. If she made a dash for it in her hyena form though, she could probably make it. The extra second it would take to determine that she wasn't a pet could be just the thing. Once again she considered clueing in her companions about their plans, but she couldn't risk the demon getting word of it and slipping away again, so she just sat there pretending to be calm.

Lyn, we agreed forever ago that Ace's Detect Thoughts would be more reflexive, allowing him to occasionally pick up stray thoughts.

If for some reason that doesn't work in this situation, or you want to change your mind on that, Ace will still sit next to to Jai, just because he wants to look out for his friend, and we can ignore the rest. Well, except the Aptitude Focus part, he'll do that regardless, since he is sorta expecting trouble.

Lang was having a great time playing the game with his new friends. Even more, he hopes that he can get Phaedra to trust non-firebirds.

I'll be right back. he says to the others as he flies down to see Ori.

landing in front of her he bows, Sifu Reading, Is there something you need?

Ace 'overhears' a few snippets from Jai's mind Detect Thoughts and sits next to her. He takes out his datapad and writes up a quick message which he shows to his lycan friend. It reads I know enough, I'll help as best I can.

Ace will then spend the next ten minutes focusing his mind and abilities to best suit any potential trouble. Switching Aptitude Focus to Arcane and Divine, and adding +6 to my Wis(34 total).

Ace:
That works out perfectly this time actually. So it's all good.

Jaiye nods quickly, moving to hide the message from the others before anyone else became suspicious. She was very much on edge, which was only to be expected while sitting in the middle of a large crowd of her ancestral enemies.

She smiled. "Yes. A bit of your time. If you'll recall, we have an appointment today for you and Gareth to try and decipher his book," she reminded him gently, nodding towards Gareth who was just behind her, the large book clutched to his chest.

Regular folks are usually only interested in oozes when they want them exterminated from their cellars."
He glances up into a tree as it rustles around, seeing a couple squirrels chasing each other as they stock up for fall and then winter.
"Though, with the whole 'suddenly a big squishy dragon' deal, and getting used to new abilities, that's kinda taken a back seat at the moment.

"Yeah, I can see where that would be quite a bit of a learning curve there. Umm....before when you made yourself look human...was that how you looked before the transformation? Sorry if that's an insensitive question. I was just curious. Just tell me if I'm accidentally being a jerk," he said with an apologetic shrug.

He smiled softly at the offer and gives her a soft squeeze to his side.

::Ah, it's ancient history by now. Besides, if I don't know what actually happened, I can imagine it however I want. But that aside, are you sure you wanna spend so much time alone?::

Between Fei's friendliness, and Ghalen's glowers, they were successfully able to prevent trouble approaching from outside the boxes.

Inside the box, Liren was pointing out different points of interest on the grounds while Lira was handing out programs made from actual autumn leaves. She dropped an entire basket worth of leaves on top of Jaiye 'accidentally' as she was leaning over to hand her a program.
