The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

After several long moments, the bat swarm coalesces back into Serrin, and she looks around confused "What the heckie just happened?"

And for the record, she is just a 'normal', mutated firebird

"There's a seat for you in the skimmer...I think you'll be more comfortable at the school," he said dryly. He was well aware of how horrified this child's family probably was right now. Public displays of abnormalities were not well tolerated among these people, he knew all too well.

Cindra Svarog wrote:
Walking beside Solus, Cindra stifles another giggle when Serrin coalesces from the bats into her normal self. Leaning close so that only Solus is likely to hear her whisper, her amusement is evident in her voice, "I think Serrin just went batty."

Solus fake coughed to hide a chuckle. "I do believe you're right," he said, smiling. Cindra's good humor was definitely a good reason to go to this school. He didn't like seeing his sister sad all the time.

"I know...I think Ginni was there, but she looked too shocked to say anything."

"Oh, geez....he must have said something really bad if Ginni was shocked. I mean, it's not like she doesn't know that Ace is kinda a jerk sometimes...she does like the bad boy type. Well, thanks for letting me know. I think I should go see if I can help with the damage control."

Various of the firebird population at the refugee camp had come to see what the skimmer was about, and the mixture of glares or approvals at the sight of Sorchan and his announcement was met with mixed regards.

"...place of freaks..."
"How thoughtful, poor children without our Sun's schools..."
"...Del Sol showing his face, mocking us?"

It is with the polite, close to overt comments and social mannerisms that these things are shared, but, once Serrin bursts into 'bat swarm' and reverts, a ripple of panic and the like washes through the present population.

"Corruption!" is called out, and various others look at the 'pure blood' who cries out.

It's not riot making material, but, the recent reveals and history of the Firebirds, and their aversion to mutations is still foremost on the minds of those lacking awareness, or worse, out right fear of change.

Obviously none of the adults here, openly, would raise a hand against a child, or teen, but, it's clear that without good PR tactics such as what Sorchan employed with Serrin, ice cubes could be hurdled in short order.

Michael sleeps on, unaware the sun has risen. It wasn't important when compared to holding kitty as they slept.

Kitty had woken up several times in the night, starting to scream before Michael was able to reassure her. At the moment she slept fitfully, but at least she slept.

Sapphire, on the other hand, was tired of sleeping. He crept out of the room looking for something to eat/play with.

"I do appreciate being able to breathe, Phaedra." Lily reprimands her little sister sternly, her ribs glad that the lacing hadn't stayed as tight as Phaedra had made it at first. She did quite like the way this dress emphasized her bosom in a way which was classy rather than trampy. "I'm sure you'll get better at it with more practice though."

Lily spends another few moments with a pocket mirror, ensuring her hair was sitting just so, and that everything was proper and in place with her ensemble.

"Oh, I'm sure I will," Phaedra said sweetly, with that smile that meant she was planning trouble. In this case it was pretty obvious that she meant she was going to get better at lacing the dresses uncomfortably.

Considering without any bonuses I choose to give myself, I have a +20 to my initiative, I'm pretty sure I go first anyways. My point is, if you want a few rounds of buffing, I will gladly take them as well. Or, neither of us get to buff prior to the fight, and we roll off to see who goes first, and if you want some defenses, you gotta cast them with me coming at ya

Repp listens intently, nodding when appropriate and generally being a comforting and soothing presence. Quietly he replies, his voice rising only above the sound of the waves and the wind in the nearby trees. Despite the quiet voice, every word is heard clearly. "Ginni, this is the price we mortals must pay. I know that it feels like a curse right now, but it is a blessing as well. Knowing that things are temporary forces us to cherish each moment spent with those we care about. If anything Ginni, I hope this will encourage you to throw yourself more into your friends, instead of pulling away from them."

He gets a slightly whimsical look in his violently red eyes. "We can't take what little time we have in this life for granted, since as we've discovered, we can't know when it will come to an abrupt end."

Maya seemed to contain her excitement somewhat well, though a faint smile did slip out onto her lips and a twinkle in her eyes.

"There are always casting couches or hoops to leap through, aren't there? Let me see... I suppose, if I were to just whip something up..."

And For My First Act...:

She rises up, formal grace where it was not before. Her appearance subtly changing to fill out, as she grows taller, and fuller, becoming a six foot figure of divine appearance, the epitimy of the perfect human, female, figure. In the course of a few moments, she shifts into an Adonis, dressed Greek, with toga and laurels, glowing lightly in a halo of power and sunlight behind her.

Raising a hand as he does, the room itself blends, as shadows seems to wash over the walls and the like, replacing their contents with a completely different theme and style of interior. Where there was wood, a dull metal, where colors were warm, they are cool. The effect has all the qualitities familiar to anyone who's experienced the SIM room, and no indication of how, save the visual change-- a transformation, most likely, on the atomic level. Even the air has changed its smell, and cooled noticeably.

Bending forward to pick up a cat that was obscured by the desk's edge, he lifts the kitty up, a Blue Russian mix, pets it until it purrs, then whispers in its ear.

After the whisper the cat leaps up, into the air, turning into an Alien looking creature with wings, hissing and spewing violence, dripping acid and mucus, which melts through the new metal in spots, before imploding and peeling the entire room's tapestry of difference, including her own godly looks, into the pinpoint of black, before violently, audibly, vanishing.

She smiles, now back to her normal appearance, then frowns, walking over to the floor where a slight sizzle still occurs from the cat turned bat Alien creature's, spit.

"Terrible sorry. In certain in a few days this will stop." Giving it another glance, she smiles seeing the floor repairing. "Well, that certainly helps with the whole potential blowing up home base by accident."

No indication of magic, reality seemingly altered, unless other super senses were in effect.

One thing is for certain, however, she seemed to enjoy the use of her abilities. Her respiration is elevated and her eyes alight with pleasure, lips moistened, body alert.

She turns back to the Headmaster and smiles. "How was that?"

Right?

As she walked along, head held high, Lily hears from behind and right of her a voice speak up, "Eh-excuse me, Lady Svarog?" The voice of a timid and young male firebird.

If she opts to look over, a slightly timid firebird stands there, dressed in less than superb clothing, not making eye contact but tenderly holding onto an object in his hands, which glints in the sunlight of the open field.

If she does stop, he keeps his eyes upon the base of her dress, apparently lacking a spine to actually look up to meet her eyes. Only the barest of confidence emanates from this lad.

He has your average appearance in humanoid form, for a firebird, hair leaning more towards the darker burgundy of red, than the scarlet common among the race. His clothing is conservative, yet a hint more refined than a commoners.

He is unremarkable in any other way, appearing clean, nails trimmed, boots shined.
