"If you could point me to a violin I'd give it a shot, but I don't know any songs that go with drums."

"I know," she said in a small voice. "But it feels like eating and otherwise going on with my life makes it all more real somehow. Like part of me is still hoping I'll wake up and this will have all been a bad dream."

She sighed. "Yep, I was right. It does sound as stupid to say out loud as I thought it would."

She shook her head. "I never dreamed anything this bad. I was supposed to care for them, to protect them. I couldn't even protect myself. That's what hurts the most. Knowing that I didn't even fight. That I just stood there and let it happen. They deserved better." Tears welled up and started rolling down her cheeks as she spoke. "I think I could bear it if I had at least tried to save them."

"It definitely doesn't look bad." He says to himself, testing it out with a few chords. "Doesn't sound bad either. Do you have a specific song in mind?"

"How's that work?"

She comes back out here, and you go in there to wait until you're actually ready for your third regeneration. I have a plan. It's risky, but I think if we don't do anything that you're in big trouble anyways."

Her expression softened. "And yes, I would. Stay with you. If it were time for you to regenerate and be you instead of her. You're my friend and I won't desert you, no matter what you look like."

the new Mel reaches up and places her hand on Ginni's cheek. "Thank you, I Won't be the same Mel, but hopefully I will still someone you can like, and are willing to travel on adventures. Be sure to Tell Mel, 2nd regeneration, all about me."

"what must I do?"

Mel (3) seems saddened that she must go, but being trapped between regeneration is no way to exist.

She nodded. "I can work with that."

She took up the beat, a little awkward with it for the first measure. It wasn't a style of music she was all that familiar with, but she was a quick study.

I'm going to stand in the doorway and sort of act as a buffer. Things seem solid in here, but technically you're both mental energy, so you're going to both travel through me so you won't technically ever be in the same room at the same time. Hew cries out in pain before shoving his sword deep in to the stomach of the sorcerer. The smell of melting flesh become rank in the air and the acids burns away at the sorcerer flesh.

Not expecting Hew to take such a hit. lang jumps to his feet with a renewed vigor. with a sudden fury balls of water are pulled from the puddles and harden into solid ice You hurt my friend , You should know better than to piss me off! Its as if a never ending barrage of ice shards fly at the sorcerer eventually impaling him to the ground.

Lang seem to be fighting with unrestrained anger at the injuries inflicted upon his friend. it probably matches what happened on the other world defending Ignace based on how lang described it to her before.

"I can only speculate, as you are not 100 percent human. but the most obvious effect would be the fact that you would house a small amount of Artron energy within you. this will cause you to register as an active time traveler by those that sense such things. the second effect I believe is a possibility, you would experience either visions of my past or premonitions of my future. these experiences may seem real to you as though they were your own. the next to last possibility, it would unlock some mental ability within you, and the last...I cannot say"

He isn't quite yelling and isn't quite thrashing. Kind of gentler versions of both of those.

Mel (3) stays calm but she seems to not want to upset Ginni "the last effect is bad, It may dissuade you from trying."

after a moment "My plan is for me to merge with you. then allow me to leave the room freely then i would un-merge in the room and you can go."

He kicks his large, leathery wings and he takes of following Grim.
His wings produce a lot of air displacement and make a lot of wind. A stray paper is blown a long way down the hall in his takeoff.

Grim is twice as fast as Lewis and far more coordinated on his more lithe and slender wings, where Lewis' wings are large and clumsy.(literally)
"........ what's a brother......?"

Male Human-Reaper/obitu Death Mage 11/oracle 1/grim reaper 10

grim's is poor if I remember right, grim keeps pace with the tiny dragon though from the way he flys it is obvious that he could go faster if he wanted to "uh you know two people with the same parents,"
I am highly amused by how unhelpful grim is being

male Jabberwocky Like this but chibi and not scary mount

Lewis takes a deep breath in and out again before taking half a moment to say, ".....what's a parent.......?"
Lewis is feeling exceptionally dumb at this point....
Most people have the basic psychological system that they believe that failure in their part can only be due to outside factors that cause them to fail, whereas other people fail because of their incompetence. This is know as a Self-Serving Bias. Lewis has the opposite of this, where he assumes that anything that happens is his fault...

sorry for the big story movement I hope it isn't to much railroading.

"Very well then. let me know when you are ready."

Once Ginni tells her she is set Mel (3) places her hands on Ginni's temples and closes her eyes concentrating.

---- for those in the hospital room ---
Mel's body starts to glow with the blue Artron energy. it flares up then suddenly fades. It then flares up around Ginni.

all of Mel's vital signs go flatline.

--------

---- back in Mel's head ----

Mel(3) vanishes from sight as he psyche enters Ginni's.

for Ginni:

Everything that is mel is now inside your head. All of her craziness, all of her wacky ideas. its a wonder she could keep anything straight.

Her mind seems to be the embodiment of chaos.

As More of Mels is making itself known. images of Mel's past flood in. several images of Kai and the times he was kind and gentle. her Sim room date, even the song she wrote for him.

She sees the images she saw before with Mel and Dom as children. some scenes you have seen before.

then things go dark. pitch blackness everywhere. Then suddenly an explosion, then another, and another. People screaming. flashes of a war. standing in the middle of a city being besieged. bodies everywhere. soldiers fighting back but being slaughtered.

Ships in the skies, kind you have never seen. blast beams of energy into the city killing without remorse, without mercy. targeting everything alive.

It's as if Ginni is standing there right next to another girl slightly older. maybe 18 or 19. she is wounded, her clothing charred and torn. At her feet a dead couple their bodies burned.

Someone runs by and grabs the other girl's hand dragging her off "come on Melody, there only one left, its the only way out."

Ginni hears the sounds of the attackers one word echos in her mind "Exterminate!"

everything goes black.

Mel (2) sees the opportunity and manages to make the switch while Ginni is in her trance trying to control the visions.

Once inside the Zero room the merge is severed and the switch is complete.

Mel(2) grabs Ginni and pulls her out of the room and shuts the door.

------ back in the Hospital room ----

the Artron energy fades from Ginni

vital signs return to normal on both Ginni and Mel.

both still unconscious

-------------

Ginni is still in Mel's head but her mindscape is returning to what she remembers from their last joining.

Ginni blinks at Melody. "I think I know why you don't remember," she said somewhat cryptically before sitting down abruptly.

"At least I didn't die. But I think that I need to go back to my own head now...I'll do my best to explain the things that you forgot....maybe not all of them. But the ones you asked me to. But first, I think it's time for both of us to wake up now."

When the flash of blue light flares up around Ginni, Ace immediately turns his attention to his girlfriend. However, nothing bad appeared to happen to her.

Then, Mel's vitals flat-lined "Uh. That is very not good. We need to do something, fast" He went to lay hands on her, but the blue energy zapped and he wisely backed away.

"Damnit, I can't get near her!, What do we do?" Racking his brain trying to come up with a solution, Ace growls in frustration as nothing comes to mind.

Suddenly, Melody's vitals stabilize, and the strange aura is gone from around Ginni. She hadn't woken up yet, which was a bit worrysome. Ace leans over and kisses her on the lips, and whispers softly "Come on babe, wake up. I know your strong enough to come back from this. I love you so much and I don't want to loose you" A few tears falls from his eyes, landing on her face.

Female [Classified] Bard 16 / [classified] 16

for Ginni:

after returning to her own body, Ginni will have her power point pool increased by 5 (this is due to the lingering Artron energy she now possesses). Also Ginni gains +1 point Intelligence.

Also I guess Ephebe would know this, but Ginni now would detect as being a time traveler. This little event may have even garnered her attention for a bit

Mel gives Ginni another hug. "see you in the real world..." she says with a smile.

Most of them are folk shaped and stand upright like you do, but all of them have characteristics of their ancestor, like me there are the catfolk, there's also the bearfolk and the geckofolk and hyenafolk and so on and so forth. Most of the folk tribes live on their own area, but we aren't hostile. The folk travel freely, but tend to stick amongst themselves and the folk of their ancestor. The catfolk live on a big island near the middle of the planet called Nekobay and my family is traditionally the leaders of the island. We revere and respect the creature that we resemble called our Ancestor during a festival at every season."

He falls silent seemingly finished with his story.
"But now I feel bad talking all about me. Tell me about you. Well, what you remember anyways."
He smiles at Tryko'Sam encouragingly.
He's finished something and sets it to the side, now he starts with some blue denim.

Shrugging a bit at Tybalt's question, Tryko'Sam says, "I dunno what to share -- if I were a painter or something, I could make you some awesome stellar views. Who am I? Dunno, seems the lady does. Not sure what to tell you there, really. I'm better with questions-- at least, as best as can be. Uh... let's see. I like dark colors. I prefer vanilla, I think? I have a lot of uncertainties, but don't really worry. I hate a!$@+**s, again, I think. Especially arrogant ones." He grins.

"So what do people do for fun around here? Apparently drinking booze is restricted, something funky happens. Guessing that's not a huge topic here though, huh? I barely know this place. Who pays the bills, and how?"

Ginni's eyes fluttered open. "Why are you crying? I know it was a near thing, but I'm okay now," she said with a tired smile. Saving Mel had taken a lot more out of her than she had realized. "And Mel should be okay now too."
