Uldar manages to make his way past the spider webs and into room 232. Meanwhile, Trane chases after the bugbear who ran down the south hallway. Uldar pierces the bugbear critically, killing it instantly as it appears in room 232 through the western door.
The bugbear who shot the magic arrows is nowhere to be seen...

The Master Map is updated.

Uldar Aren |

"The bugbear archer must have run away from the south-western door or the one to the south!" exclaims the halfling "Fast Thrane! Take the southwestern door I will take the southern one!"
And so Uldar moves to the door to the south and opens it readying to finish chasing the bugbear archer. If no one is on that place, the halfling moves to the southwestern door with Thrane.
Perceptin: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

![]() |

Uldar investigates the southern doorway, but it exits into a hallway that end abruptly at a stone wall. The bugbear is nowhere to be seen...
Investigating the rooms:
Room 231: The walls of this small room are covered with scenes showing all four principles of Elemental Evil in their most horrible and disgusting forms. Some battered and torn furnishings also indicate that this place was probably once a sitting room or lounge for some high Temple official. The wall sconces are of bronze, as is the wall basin set in a hemispherical alcove in the east wall. A small table, two chairs, a couch, and a broken cabinet are also in the room.
Room 232: This room was once quite splendid, if its wall hangings, carpet remnants, and battered furnishings are any gauge. Cressets and sconces of bronze line the walls. Four small tables, six chairs, two couches, and two sideboards are here, as well as several boxes and chests. A large iron pot hangs from a bronze chain in the middle of the room (suspended from the place some filagreed lamp once hung) over a charcoal fire in a bronze bowl, its original purpose unknown. The boxes and chests hold only old clothing, food, and junk. The iron pot contains a stew of questionable composition. The door to the south leads into a smaller room which is filled with various poor but edible foodstuffs, some meats and cheeses, and barrels of grain, flour, biscuits, beer, vinegar, wine, and salt.
Room 233. This room shows signs of having been the sleeping chamber of some personage of importance. The walls are plastered and bear murals, albeit the plaster is now broken and stained and most of the painting is ruined. Rugs are still on the floor, and a huge bed stands in the southwest corner. Another heap of bedding and pillows occupies the northwest corner. A cabinet stands beside the bed, along with a small table, a large wardrobe, and a brazier. Two lamps hang from ceiling chains, and four sconces adorn the walls. The wardrobe is stuffed with old clothing, some tapestries (one of which is worth 350 gp), a sack of food, 5 bottles of wine, and miscellaneous junk.
In searching the bugbear bodies, you find that the largest male wears a gold chain from which depends a golden skull emblem (jewelry value 175 gp), and carries a pouch containing 23 gp, 15 pp, and 6 bits of turquoise (each worth 10 gp). Another bugbear carries 3 pp, 14 gp, 5 ep, and 19 sp, and also wears a silver earring with a mounted jasper gem (worth 100 gp).

Uldar Aren |

"Give me one sip of that wine Roran" the halfling approaches and have a drink still sweating from the combat "I fear the day they come for us in revenge"
He helps to pack everything of value, specially if the bugbears have any masterwork or magical item, then opens the food chests and starts eating and offering the others to eat "Nothing as filling the stomach after a good bleeding"
As he eats he comments on his ideas to execute next "What do you think about going back that long corridor and exploring any exit to the southern area of this complex level?"

Velcore Valiantheart |

Velcore makes his way to each member of the group checking for wounds that need to be tended to and will do what he can to heal them before the next wave of attackers come.
@ Story Master - I can not tell you is damaged or not since everyone does not have a stat line next to their picture can you let me know how needs to be healed. Thanks

Uldar Aren |

"Take this Kalizama" Uldar offers the wizard the scroll they found in the Otyguth chest.
"Perhaps you can add some of those spells to your book" the halfling smiles the woman "Did that arrow hurt you? It seemed quite deadly going against you"

![]() |

@ Story Master - I can not tell you is damaged or not since everyone does not have a stat line next to their picture can you let me know how needs to be healed. Thanks
As far as I can tell, Kalizama is the only one not fully healed by your channeling, still down 5 HP.

Velcore Valiantheart |

Thanks
Velcore stops at Kalizama. "May I tend to your wounds?"

Kalizama |

I say,"Thank you, Uldar, taking the scroll from his hand. "That arrow did hurt me a bit, but I am almost back to full strength.
To Roran I say,"I'll have a swig of that wine. It will help ease this pain in my chest." I take the bottle from him and gulp down a couple of long draughts of the wine. "Thank you so much, Roran."
"Yes, Velcore! That would be wonderful! I would really appreciate that."
After that I join Roran in eating my fill out of the food chest.
Then I sit quietly propped against a wall and take the magic arrow that I had earlier pulled out of my chest out of my backpack to examine it carefully. I cast Detect Magic and Spellcraft on it.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Velcore begins a chant and lays his hand on Kalizama's wound.

He gives her a nod then turns on his heel, drawing his sword again as he walks into the other room.

Uldar Aren |

After Velcore has treated the wounds Uldar nods and smiles amazed of the man's powers "That stills amaze me"
"Ok, as no one said nothing about it, I think we can proceed back the corridor and look for an exit to the southern area of the complex" and so Uldar moves back with the group searching for an exit to the south of this level.

I vote for 226

Velcore Valiantheart |

I don't see 226 on the map but lead the way wherever you want to go.

Uldar Aren |

You are right my guess is John means 228

Velcore Valiantheart |

Velcore follows close behind the mage ready to defend her if they are attacked.

![]() |

The group makes its way south down the eastern hallway, and pauses before the door into room 228. The hallway ends shortly after room 228 and opens into a massive hall.
This huge, echoing hall was evidently once the scene of great revels celebrating the triumphs of the Temple. The floor of the place is littered with skeletons, skulls, and bones of humans and various humanoids. Here and there are parts of broken chairs, stools, tables, benches, sideboards, buffets, cabinets, and cases.
Much of the wreckage has probably been carted off for firewood. Tapestries and trophies still remain on the walls in spots. The former show scenes of raiding, looting, pillate, and rapine; trophies include mummified heads, torn battle standards, hides and skins, battered shields, sundered armor, and a broken broadsword. Dozens of empty cressets and sconces line the walls. The broad steps in the middle of the north wall are of dull black stone, and the descending stair seems most depressing and horrible—though passable.
The master map has been updated.

Velcore Valiantheart |

Smells of hoard of skeletons to me. I am ready to burn some undead down

Uldar Aren |

Uldar nods in agreement to Velcore "That big hall is opening to plenty of directions. The exploration is becoming much broad and consuming that I expected"
The halfling moves to the door to 228 and checks it "Let's first see what is behind this door".
Perception (take 20; +2 vs traps): 20 + 9 = 29
If locked Disable device: 20 + 16 = 36
If there is no danger Uldar opens the door stealthily and faces the inside with his bow at hands.
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Uldar Aren |

Uldar whispers to the group "There is someone snoring inside, and I would say it is not a meek human snore. It is something loud and deep!" he looks with a merge of curiosity and respect in his eyes "Shall we go in?"
If one or two companions say to open, Uldar will definitely do so!
