Without Lynora, this game would have shattered into many pieces many times. I do not mean to minimize the effort and contribution of DB3, Dalesman, and others who have stepped up to the referee plate. The fact remains, though, that Lynora is the lynchpin.
Thank you for your investment in us both in time and energy.
Thank you. This post means a lot to me. I honestly was debating giving up and hanging up the GM hat for good not that long ago. It just seemed like no one was having any fun any more, me included. Instead I decided to restructure things and hope that the problems could be fixed. Give it one last shot. And I don't think I could have done that without the help and support from Dalesman and DB3. Anyways, after all of that, it really is good to know that the effort and time is appreciated. Kinda makes it worth all the trouble. :)

I seem to recall a sort of split with Conjuration classes. Was there not one that dealt more or less solely with planar travel and creatures?
If so, does that one ever involve planar field trips? Serrin would love to "go home"
It's more that one class deals with Conjuration and another class deals with Planar Studies. Neither has been prone to field trips.
Then again we may have a new Conjuration teacher soon. Depending. Partially on your definition of soon. I'm not writing any characters out permanently until at least the beginning of October, and then only if there has still been no communication from the missing player in question. Until then I'm running that NPC, and it is quite reasonable to assume that Vare would not be approved to take students on a field trip...he can barely manage himself, let alone students...

We went to the rennaissance festival yesterday. I bought yet another outfit. I just can't seem to resist. And now I have different costumes for all the different temperatures that happen over the course of a renn season. :)
Tartanic was awesome as usual, and so was Manolete. But we missed Zoltan. We'll have to make sure to catch that show next time we go.

I'm sorry things almost got to that point.
Just remember that no matter how things look like they're going, we're all here to have fun and really appreciate that you help us do that. I know that I haven't stopped enjoying this since I got here.
I really love all of y'all, especially our DM's. I've probably said this before, but I don't have a lot of friends in real life, and I'm glad that you're all here and that we can share stuff and help each other out.
And it looks like I was wrong in my earlier post. From now on when need to make sure Lyn knows how much we love her and this game. :)
We might get grumpy and on each other's nerves some times, but this game is really something special and any problems wehave are nothing compared to the good parts of it.
DM of the coins |
You are tied for my favorite DM I have ever had
gee thanks Foul glad to know I'm in the same league as Lyn...
anyway I too am glad you are here. most of the characters I enjoy are in this game...
Monkeygod |
Yup, Lyn is awesomesauce. Its funny, I've been reading Shelyn's entry in Inner Sea Gods, who Lyn has chosen as her Avatar, and I see a lot of similarities. Not just with the goddess herself, but also her clergy and their views and such.
I'll elaborate later, but for now I'm off to go play a few casual games of Magic.
Rakki Okane |
Hey everybody.
This is my newest character.
He's a sort of test drive of the Tanuki race, but I still really love his character already, so he's not just that. He's part Marid, as a kind of memorial thing for Robin Williams that ended up making his character design /so/ much better.
His basic concept/class is going to require some audience participation. ;)
His thing is that almost a year ago, he was a big A-list music celebrity. Pop star is the closest word I have. But, he got too out there for general audiences. He tried experimental music that just didn't work out. He started losing his following. In an effort to bring people back, he went into even more obscure genres, from folk to polka to metal, but this only made it worse. He never settled on one genre or instrument and became really good at it. So, now he's here to try and improve his talents and get back onto the billboards. Or techno screeny things or magic-o-vision, whatever we have.
Here's where you come in!
It's up to you whether your character(s) know of him or are fans still. If they're into music, they've likely heard of him. Others may not know at first, but after a few bars of his biggest hits, give an "oh, you're /that/ guy." It would be cool to have at least one crazy super fan, whether an NPC or PC.
He should be super fun, and hopefully get some good laughs out of people. I'll be bringing him in tomorrow, or tonight if I can't sleep.
TL:DR
He used to be famous. You decide if your characters have heard of him or not.

I've been lucky that all but 2-3 of my DMs have been good ones
You are tied for the 4-5 slots, still an awesome DM (top 5)icehawk333 |
Lyn. You do great here, your work and patience is amazing.
You've kept a place running through crap that would have caused me to give up the first time it happened, let alone multiple times.
This is the only group I've been in that hasn't fallen apart once I got attached to it.
I hope I'm not too much of a leech, or the problem, but my history with groups indicates otherwise. I'm trying to come up with some NPC's and plots to work with, and maybe contribute more.

@rakki: Lucas has heard of you, doesn't care for you one way or another, as a whole but has a few pieces of yours that he enjoys
Arthur and grim have never heard of you

@Lyn: Love and support, hearts coming out of my eyes, puking rainbows, yada yada yada ;P All in good fun. But seriously, in the brief time I've been here, you have been utterly fantastic*! So, yeah, hope I get to know you and ecerybody else more here since I'm kinda in the same boat as Magic.
Now... Allons-y*!

So my tablet is dying. :(
I've had troubles with this thing for a long time now. There's not enough memory and I'm deleting apps every week trying to keep it running. Windows OS eats memory quickly. :/
It has to rebuild the C drive weekly. And my display drivers keep crashing. I've re-downloaded them more times than I can count. It pretty much happens daily. And the hard restarts aren't exactly doing it any favors either.
Word to the wise: the HP Envy X2 is a great computer...for a couple of months. And then it's a great paperweight. :(
Anyways, with the display crashes getting longer and more frequent, it looks like I'm gonna need to buy a replacement. After, of course, we already committed a bunch of money to our upcoming vacation. Timing is everything. :/
So I'm trying to use the time my computer is working to figure out what to replace it with. I'm trying to decide whether to get a 128 GB ipad air or an 11 inch Macbook air. Because I am so done with Windows. So done. Well, that and my need for long battery life pretty much means buying something from Apple. I am not a sit at a desk kinda girl, so stuff that has to be plugged in every three hours is a no-go.
So I apologize for not being as prompt with the posting. I'm doing my best. The machine is not cooperating.

I've heard there are some neat solar charger cases for tablets. :)
Doesn't help if you're using it for a whole day. :P
That and after getting royally screwed by a memory gobbling OS I'm not too keen on going out and buying a Surface, which has the battery life of a laptop so what's the point? Tried out some Android tablets...there aren't words for how much I hate the Android OS. I couldn't deal with it on a phone, there's no way I can deal with it on a tablet. At least with Microsoft I know how to find crap...look for it in the least logical, most backwards place for it to be and there it is. With Android there doesn't appear to be any system at all for where things get hidden. My husband thinks I'm crazy. He loves Android and can easily find all the things...at which point I have to point out how many times I've had to show him how to navigate Windows 8 and how to do stuff on an iphone.:P

Do all the various classes have specific times they are offered, or can we assume that we can get whichever schedule in whatever order we choose?
Advanced PE is only offered during first or fourth period.
And there is no Evocation or Necromancy during first period.Advanced Illusion only happens first period.
Pretty sure those are the only classes that have been pinned down to a particular schedule.
Edit: and Transmutation is not available third period as mentioned above.
Zix |
Since these are being fleshed out
Intro to abjuration is offered in all blocks before lunch
Defensive Battle Magiks (advancers abjuration) is offered in all blocks after lunch.
Settro |
any advanced transmuatiation classes would be nearly nonexistent, because, as anyone in the class will find out, Settro expects those in the class to learn a lot.
He's a hard class already, in other words, on top of barley having any prep time for one class, let alone two different ones.

Might have to get a new computer myself sometime soon. My wife thought it would be a good idea to open up the comp and dust inside and ever since then I have been getting the blue screen of death on a regular basis. O.O
Hopefully I can fix it but if I vanish for abit at some point don't retire me, my computer prolly died and I'll be back as soon as I get a new comp=)
