Hmm tricky, most of the time you're facing a being somewhere between the two of them (consisting mostly of jean most of the time)
Phoenix became something like a super powered Id for her
It influences her
She is imprinted on it
She draws on it's power

Right
Prior to that point I believe she was a beta level mutant (with alpha being people of magneto level and omega being classes as any with effectively limitless power and a form of immortality)
All fire abilities come from her connection to the pheonix force
Even sealed by professor xavior it still bumps her up to an alpha level mutant
Of course I might be mixing up the various comic/cartoon/Video game/movie universes
Don't quote me on any of this

There was a time when she was Phoenix, but not using the Force. I do not recall if she had any fire powers at that point, but I believe they were cosmic flame, something very different from normal fire.
While I know there are Patrons represent Life, Creation and Death, is there anything, Patron or other wise, that would be all three + Rebirth? Perhaps a deity, cosmic force, etc? That's what the Phoenix is, more or less.
Also, just curious, Deception=Secrets, or could that be separate?

Thanks, Dami. That matches my understanding of Jean as well, but good to know that the comics bear that out. :)
As for the Phoenix Force, it overlaps with the Patron stuff, not to mention the weird but not good crossover possibilities in a world with firebirds, and this is why no Phoenix force in game. Just doesn't fit this setting.

Her now being a Cryptic and seeing patterns was why I felt that way, which is obvious in the pic.
Yeah, I was agreeing with you. It's a good pic. The girl in the pic even looks right, minus the tattoos, but she also looks older than fifteen. I think it shows more what she will look like as opposed to how she looks right now.

Sadie Jhiwoon wrote:"So, one of the main goals in a sword fight is to not get hit by the other guy. But no matter how good you are at dodging, sometimes you just can't. That is where the parry comes in. Remember that this isn't heavy blades. You're not trying to block the blow, you're trying to redirect it away from you. And by doing so you create a space for a counterattack known as a riposte. Those of you who have no idea what's going on, try to arrive at class on time from now on. Just observe for now. As I said previously, we'll keep it pretty basic this time."
"En garde," she said, waiting for Adon to be ready before directing an attack towards him.
adon's manic smile shows through again, shifting Into a stance to block any assault Sadie would press on him. His dark aura around his arms is faintly visible.
"Don't hold back. Hit me if you can- better they see real tequiques then staged ones."
Adon... you almost are acting like Renkai did when he fought Sadie...
Went back and re-read that fight... its very good... Linky Linky

Hmmmm...
I have so many ideas for characters that I want to introduce come something I have planned for Halloween...
Take your pick! (I might make them all a time anyways, though.)
- A good-aligned jiangshou Hungry Ghost Monk/Time Thief who uses a unique blend of time-fueled ki powers to accelerate his combat abilities and hunt the paranormal beasts that prey on the common folk.
- A scientific metal-bender spine dragon who metal-bends by using 251% of his mind (thus generating a psychic field around him that he can use to use up to 2nd level Telepathic powers at will in) and overcharging his innate bio-electricity to form an ionic link with base metals that he can use to magnetize atoms internally and externally of the metal, allowing him to bend it and hurl it at people.
- A ranger who bonded with an advanced psionic arctic dweomercat, Zardrandel, and the ranger has learned how to form bows and other ranged weapons out of psionic energy under the guidance of his tutor
- A human who, through a video game that was a secret paranormal training program, has opened up his mind so that he can fight psionically and physically, and is able to use an Empowered Schism at will. (i.e., three-way split.)
Please tell me if any of the characters on this list seems too far-fetched and/or overpowered, and I will discard it.

The Schism power gives Psionic characters another standard action by 'splitting' their mind up. Link
Dragons are complicated in this setting.
I second the problems with Time Thieves.
Agartha itself doesn't really have the tech for video games, so he'd be another offworlder to be brought in, which needs it's own special background.
I can't really say much on the dweomercat except it's not possible for one to be an animal companion, and Psionic varieties should just have Power Resistance instead of Spell Resistance, and no other changes. Also, the advanced template is a bit much for what's essentially going to be like a player character anyway.

Thanks for the feedback!
*Takes up papers and goes behind dark, ominous door.*
*Soon, screams overtake the room as his character's names and very ESSENCES are changed and warped into something completely unfamiliar.*
*Comes out of room.*
Well, they should recover from the shock in about... sixteen hours.

And, out of curiosity, what were the problems with Time Thieves?
...Other than Ephebe would be getting a massive migraine whenever one approaches her as he boss urges her to get rid of the damn thing which snarls up the timelines by stealing moments and using unsanctioned time travel?

I hates time travel. I hates it so much >.<

Because of 'reasons', and more importantly for detail's sake -- playing someone who can alter 'time' is a pain in the butt, given the interaction with other players and the like.
Plus, list one movie or story you've ever read where Time Travel was actually fun and engaging, versus some deus ex machine excuse to either completely abort effort to reset things in a 'ho ho ho! look how crafty I am as a writer!' bit.
I can think of perhaps .. three? which IMHO, were 'good' and solid. The rest were clutchy at best.
Mind you, minor hops (i.e. not affecting actions already done, bonuses given, +initiative, etc.) with time probably aren't an issue, it's when you actually affect other players, that's the annoying part (and administrative nightmare).
:)
Anyway... reasons. Heh.
tl;dr-- Time Travel is annoying. Avoid. Reasons.

Is that really Time Travel, or just visiting a different location without really touching on Time Travel and the inherent paradoxes which make Time Travel touchy and a thing, or kind of like Sliders did, or various other 'alternate reality' shows have done?
I'll admit, Dr. Who predates Sliders and all that-- but, even the older shows didn't really do Time Travel (and it's issues) that frequently, more just an occasional dip into the past, as a means to set the episode.
Again, I'm not a HUGE fanboi of Dr. Who, so I don't fully appreciate the lore/history. It is a well respected show, however, I'll admit that.

Hey Dami, are you like around and active or just randomly lurking?
I'm always around and active-- my attention is dependent on what's going on, and thus, my posting reflects that.
None of my PCs at this time are actively interacting with anyone either, so ... less for me to do at the moment.

Trust a whovian. New series- lots of time travel.
It's not the matter of trusting you two's word or not-- it's the 'type' of Time Travel story that matters to me.
One type is the casual, 'let's visit 14th Century France, Paris.' No repercussions, it's more to just set the scene and story background. Got it. Campy and done, a lot. No issues with that-- just not engaging beyond the setting and costumes and scenery.
One type is the 12 Monkeys level of Time Travel, or mental hurdle or figuring out 'what ifs' of ...uh, what's that one movie called, independent thing, with the two guys in their storage rental shed... "Primer" is the name. Not shabby, and well done.
Anyway-- if it doesn't really make your brain crawl at the permutations and 'what ifs' due to Time Travel's potential hardships, depending on the definition of time by the authors-- not that thrilling or engaging. It's like accepting Sci-Fi without knowing the why. Dull.
That's the point I was trying to make earlier-- the why Time Travel is 'annoying', when it's serious, gritty and thought engaging. Casually plunging back or forward in time without any ramifications of your actions, due to Butterfly Effect, or other Chaos Theory stuff, is 'meh' on my scale of interesting. Just a gimmick to get someone 'around', aka Sliders and what not.
Blarg.

no they deal with paradoxes and other time travel things several times
For exampleWhen river wrote a book and it was found before the events happened, the events came true inescapably (at least the ones that were read about)
Related to that event the weaping angels (a race that eat energy directly,) they kill by touchinnyou then sending you back in time to such a point that you die at the moment it touched you,
There was the episode with rose's father and the paradoxes that caused
There was the master's paradox machine
There was the time river changed a fixed point and time pretty much broke as a result
Heck everything to do with river involves this
There are loads of others but these were just off the top of my head
