Well, my reasoning is if Mythic(new stuff) is being held at bay, then the ACG(also new stuff) should be too. At least until Lyn has had some time to relax and look it over.

Well, Mythic doesn't mesh with Epic very well in general and I think that contributed greatly to it, but this boom won't be out for quite a while, probably June. I don't think it needs to be a concern quite yet. I'm interested to see what the Shaman will be like. I love support characters.

I want to see what the warpriest and bloodrager will look like

Honestly I thought Paizo was done making classes and would stick with archetypes, especially since half these classes start with "it's a mix of x and y classes". Save that design for prestige classes (like the Battle Herald).

But Paizo doesn't want Prestige Class bloat, remember? It's all archetype bloat now.

Well, the playtest is coming out today, so there's going to be people wanting to use it/rebuild/etc. I'd just like it if Lyn had time to look it over on her own without being flooded with questions about using the new playtest material.

Prestige Classes serve a specific design purpose though, and since they've improves the late-game for a lot of classes, taking Prestige Classes is actually a real choice now (compared to 3.5 when there wasn't really a point to taking more than 1 Wizard level + prereqs for whatever prestige you wanted).

I'd prefer more archetypes/prestige classes to more base classes, because adding Base classes just makes power creep all that much worse.

The reason they did this was to continue the trend Magus started. Its also to help multiclass concepts without the need to actually take two separate classes.

I admit, I was rather surprised when I found out about this book, and was extremely hesitant, since I too feel like it might be overkill. However, it is Paizo, and I will absolutely reserve true judgment till after the book comes out.

Because the ACG is apparently that wanted, everybody trying to download it at once caused the site to crash.

On the subject of the ACG...

I think these can definitely be ok to use, but two of them should probably not be gestalted together, nor with any of the classes they are restricted from multi-classing with.
That should keep the crazy down.

I won't use them till their final form(HA!), but Hunter/Shaman could be useful for Silinrul.

I also get the feeling that the restriction will be removed. Magus doesn't have it, neither should these.

Regarding the ACG, DB3 has it right. I won't get a chance to really check these out until Christmas break most likely. Thanksgiving break is already spoken for. So please let's wait on them until then. Besides, that gives some time for the playtest to get going. We can get a chance to let others give us feedback if anything needs changes. At that point I'll gladly let folks retrain if they really want to.

Ugh. Tired and sore. But house is clean. And I'm pissed at my group members for speech class. Not only are they making me have to go in to class tomorrow when I would have had the day off because as usual they can't get their s!*# together, but once again they will not communicuate with me at all. This presentation is going to be a train wreck. :/
