Roel's blind sight is different. It works in a sphere because he is an ooze and therefore has no face or eyes to have line of sight with. It is sound based kind of like mass echolocation. :)

If Roel's perception is entirely hearing based... Ehos has to be virtually permanently silenced. Ehos literally can't make any sound.

When in humanoid form he has a face and eyes and can see. This doesn't change his blind sight though.
Out of curiosity is Karish still in the room when Mara arrives (presumably later after/during her currently-running conversation with Vare)? Or does this conversation take place outside of the lounge?

Hate to be nitpicky... but sound is vibrations... and the magic/tech around Ehos doesn't let him make any. That's one of the reasons it was so difficult for Aananda to keep him silenced, but still able to hear. In addition, his scarf was epic-level to allow for a silence effect but for him to still able to hear.
The silence effect extends to anything Ehos touches, because a plucked instrument or such can also cause the destructiveness of his voice.
I would say /at best/: Ehos registers as a 'blank spot' to Roel. Roel may be able to tell that /something/ is there, but not any details and such. That should be reasonable, ne?

I'm getting this mental image of his arms crossing at the wrists then doing the meshed fingers thing. I actually tried doing it - left wrist over right, it's not horribly uncomfortable (until you actually try to bend your hands backwards so their backs touch) and I imagine would feel very natural if my hands were on backwards.

no "the way sound is" is that the vibrations go through any substance, other than vacuum, though if the object is dense and the sound is quiet then it doesn't carry through meaningfully

Cause generally echolocation is quite high frequency. Higher frequency sounds do not pass well through things, whereas low frequency sounds do.

I don't know. Let's wait for ice. Echolocation is just a relatable way to describe it. Ice can tell you what actually happens when he gets here. I dont know as much of what I'm talking about as he will.

This makes invisibility and concealment (even magical darkness) irrelevant to the creature.
Concealment , even total concealment- like being behind something one cannot see through, but counts as no object for the purpose of attacks and does not give cover. Unless your clothing gives cover, i see through it.
