Well I'm here all day, but Tybalt and Dave are at 4:30 am and Sara is like seven so she fell asleep at a reasonable hour for her. So . . . . .
Just waiting for tomorrow.

Ah. Me too. ^_^
I would hate having to post from a computer. :/
Two weeks will be by faster than you think. :)

Yeah, but I now have no texting, no fun games online, no youtube and NO PAIZO!!!! :'( My life is ruined...
-also In 3 weeks I go to college....
so 2 of my 3 weeks of vacation I'm 4ever alone...

Ikea trip accomplished. Half the stuff already assembled and put away. The rest has to wait until tomorrow because my assembly area is halfway full of stuff that needs to be taken to the salvation army. Looks like I will have to take it over there in the morning before I can assemble the rest. And more old furniture from college is replaced with newer less hideous furniture. :)
So are we almost to the point of having the current scenes wrapped up?

I sincerly doubt Ardiente is going to sleep tonight.
I wonder... since he's immune to being fatigued/exhausted, if he would even /need/ rest.
Thoughts? I mean, he probably /enjoys/ sleeping... and might have a biological need to, but his training has been pretty harsh.
Either way, he'll be in Ryleh's lair, and working.

Mechanically? No he doesn't need to
For the purpose of flavor/ this game/reality? The human body can, if trained to do so, can go without sleep or rest indefinatly, this is your immune to fatiuge however the mind is different, if you go eight days without sleep or sleep like rest you will go crazy and then die.
icehawk333 |
Not really. There is no set limit to how long you can go without sleep. 8 days is a good estimate for insanity, but death doesn't really happen simply because of lack of sleep. On the other hand, it may cause death due to response time, lack of memory restoration, and in general making you a threat to yourself.
Lord Foul II |
There were studies done, about two years ago I think, it's because what your brain does while sleeping is go through your memories and rate how important they are, based in part on how often you thought of the event furring the day, and decides what to through out, and links together what it decides to keep
Tybalt Baneko |
Bottom line is that one day isn't gonna affect him and the point is now moo.
I don't think that there's going to be a point where he stops sleeping. If there is then we can hold this debate.
Yay useless debate ending!
:P

I think it's more likely that his training would have taught him to survive on infrequent catnaps rather than zero sleep at all. As long as he gets some sleep then he avoids the whole insanity/death problem. I would guess that a full night of sleep would be like a luxury to him.

I'm just bored, and I find psychology and the brain facinating,
I'm not really trying to argue just pass the time and share what I know :)
Though if you don't sleep more than 20 min tonight, I'd say that Ardinate's thought processes will be somewhat sluggish, even if he is physically fine.

Thanks. I feel so much better knowing that. I've only been awake three years...

I can put you in a comatose state for a handful of hours.... if that would help?

Random nerdrage-
Spells that should be removed from existance-
Shivering touch. A 3rd level touch spell that only having the cold subtype makes you immune to, and deals 3d6 dex damage.
OP as heck, especially if you can maximize it, (say, meta magic rod...) resulting in 18 dex damage with no save on a touch, making anything with 18 or less dex helpless with one spell.
Even without maximization, a slightly above average roll = helpless dragon.

EWWWW! freaking holy crap

Addendum: it's characterized by a complete inability to fall asleep. Even things like sleeping pills and tranqs don't work, unless you go super high dosage, which makes the patient go Into a deep.unrestful coma.
I think it takes those who have it like a year or so to die once it presents.
icehawk333 |
Oh, and the spell lasts for 1/round a level.
Note that this means that you can use it once a round- it states that on the touch, they take dex damage, not a penalty-
Thus- it can be used multiple times.
And secondly- yeah, 3rd level spell. Frost burn is the book of complied overpowered ****.

I like the things in 3.5. If you argue down some stuff it is pretty even. :)
