Sheeesh!
Party time, wooo!
So do I, playing out my scenes. :)
Notice how it's one and the same thing?
Consideration isn't that hard, right?
I do believe there is room for people to keep RPing without shutting down other people's fun.

Get up, stroll around ICly-- meet the new PCs?
Lots of options. Come join us in town. :)
Attack Dave and Tybalt's room with water balloons!
Go hit on the Divine Caster, now that you realize she's more than just a nameless and faceless NPC over all these months/years.
Options, baby! Don't be so stiff. :) Besides, Lynora's out until tomorrow and our weekends are typically always slow.
Work it.

Tybs and Dave are at 4:30 am.
Dami you are pretty much the only one that wants to stay here. We're all ready for tomorrow to happen. We've been keeping people long enough in my opinion. :)

I guess my point was-- we had this entire RL day to post, while Lynora was away, so I'm not /quite/ sure why you're all pressing upon me to 'hurry up'?
Fireclaw's still posting.
Other people were posting.
So your statement of being the 'only one' isn't quite valid, good sir.
And, what's the rush? Lots of free time to spend-- that's what this hobby is about, killing time. :) Do it creatively, without attacking folks, or pressuring them, imho.
Aren't the two new people still doing a few things yet?
Why the impatience when the official person to cast the actual 'vote' earlier wrote she'll be out tonight?

"Ace" |

Depending, I might have something still left to do before we roll into the next day.
I'm figuring its about 10pm for Ace and Ginni, so there's quite a bit of the night left for me.
Sorry for those who seek to rush ahead, but as our lovely mummy pointed out above, its Friday, Lyn's out, and the game moves slowly over the weekend as is.

LOL fair enough

Dom Waverider |

I would have Dom up and doing stuff, but I don't know why he would leave his room with Tami there. Espeacially having professed his love to her.
They will be but awhile I'm sure, just won't be out and about.

I love Miyazaki but I really didn't find the comic all that great. :/
I feel like I should like it more than I do. :/
I've been thinking about why that comic was so powerful to me, and it was hard at first, but I think I've found it:
To me, there is no universal good. There's nothing about anything we do that is inherently good or evil. As humans, we ascribe those words to things, and they vary wildly from person to person and culture to culture.
There's some arguement that suffering, torture, etc, are "universally" evil, but that's just a human point of view.
The point is: if there's not objective good or evil, than anything we ascribe those words to is a matter of perception.
Princess Mononoke is pretty much my favourite movie of all time, and I don't think I really grasped the full weight of the themes that Miyazaki was trying to convey until I read that comic. The Forest Spirit and the Nightwalker - Life, Purity, Hope, Renewal on one side, and his other aspect is Death, Corruption, Despair, Destruction... but they are one and the same. In trying to kill one we kill the other. If we only see evil as something to be stamped out and destroyed, we miss what good can come from it.
Look at Ardiente, and what Ryleh said to him: "I'm glad some good came from Chan's evil."
That scene was powerful for me to read as well, because the nature of evil, of destruction, is that renewal is inevitable.
...
That or I'm rambling and insane. You decide!

Ya know, I've tried to pick a favorite here or there, but its next to impossible. Sure, there's some I like more than others, however none to me truly stand out above the rest.
Eddings did such an amazing job making you care about each of the characters, and giving them all moments to shine. I've told people one of the reasons I love read the books is because each time I re-read them, it's like going to visit family.

Feel free to toss Fei's hat in there if you want Dalesman. I doubt she'll stay overnight, but she's around for some time still.
At work Ace, response soonish.

Well, I'm back. Anniversary was....less than stellar. I was not quite over this stomach bug and he was just coming down with it.....yeah, not a lot of fun. Still not the worst anniversary we've ever had. Sad but true. :P
Ooh, Eddings. That's some fun reading. Had all the books. Gave them all to the kidlet though (cause he'll let me borrow them back if I want to read them again) and he's starting to work his way through Pawn of Prophecy.
Not sure what all the drama about change of day was about. I get wanting to be considerate and wrap scenes so we can move on, but I still have like three scenes to wrap that I'm in and you can't do change of day without me, so it seems like much ado about nothing.
Fireclaw, actually I get it. Princess Mononoke is the inspiration for Ori's character since Kryshyykilli'vkk is very much based on the Forest Spirit/Nightwalker. I love the themes being more complicated than just good vs bad.

The Dalesman |

May not be important - not sure if they would cross paths. My guess, though, is that Avalon's warehouse staff are working with her entourage to get all of the emergency aid supplies cataloged and stored. Which means that Fei is rather late for work... (=o_o=)
Guess I can run with that.

That's one of the reasons I like the Eddings series. In the Belgarid, you see things as very black and white. There's the "good" cultures and the "bad" cultures. Sure, there's a bit of grey here and there, but for the most part, the various peoples stick to the stereotypes.
However, in the Mallorean, those preconceptions are shattered. I won't go into much more detail, in case somebody reads this who hasn't read the series yet, but suffice to say, I really like the Mallorean a lot for how it totally changes not only the readers world view, but the characters' as well.

Another way perhaps to read this, speaking of themes: adapt to the situation, be a young sapling, not an ancient rigid oak in the storm. Life is more enjoyable (sometimes) off the only path you see before you.
Just don't stray from the path when some one wise warns you though!

Damiani |

Speaking of Eddings...when I first learned of Golarion, the PF campaign setting, I kept reading that as (Bel)garion in my head. Wonder if there was an influence there?
Whatever the inspiration, I must profess a large love for the creative effort with that setting.
Happy reading on the countries and cultures.

I wanted to post as my day has been rather positive..
Wife is home from the hospital
final diagniosis is Depression and others I don't want to broadcast.
she seems to have found the right combination of medications for the time being.
and for the first time (otside of a hospital of controled facility) she has stayed sober for 24 hours and has not taken any sleep aid pills (had an addiction to those as well)
its one day at a time. I'm glad I was there to see her through it. now the rest of the battle continues each day without a drink...
I have to say thanks to all you guys as these games has been the one thing that occupied my mind during the lows these past several months and has mangaged to keep me as sane as I can be.
shame Spugs isn't here, I owe his a big thanks for the PM's of encouragement.

I'm glad you're both doing better. ^_^
Keep going one day at a time and with a little bit of faith, things will work out for the best. :)

I take a day off because I was/am sick, (intestinal stuff, for some reason whenever i do get sick, which is rare, this is how i am sick) figure I'll be able to post tonight after I rest for a bit.. Nope whole lot of nothing,
I am probably just bored and cranky from my gut hurting enough to mostly confine me to bed but come on people.
In other news I'm happy for you Edward

lynora |

I may or may not be available to post at all tomorrow. Don't know yet. If I'm not running a fever and/or throwing up in the morning we're going to the lake for the day and since there's no cell signal there, I won't be able to post even from my phone. If I am still sick, I'll be staying home while the boys go to the lake and will be able to post. So if you don't hear anything from me, that's why. :)

lynora |

So the boys just left to go to the lake. I tried, I really did. But my fever was going up as I packed stuff and basically I got told I wasn't going. :(
So I'm on my own for the day. Guess it's time to do the laundry and finish cleaning the kidlet's room. Oh, yeah, and maybe some resting and stuff too....
