The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

So many martial artists showing up at Avalon now. I worry for poor little Fei now. (^.^)

It should be interesting to see the interaction of styles and outlooks, in any event.

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

I dont think Fei has anything to worry about. His abilities are more mind and spiritial while this guy is pretty much physical focused.

Argh! Me no like. Only because I have issues with youtube on my ipad. And for some reason I didn't realize before I clicked on the first one what it was. I'll have to check those out when I get home.

Aww, you can't see them?

Oh well, on to the subject of Dream cheating big time... I mean, uh, nice weather we're having, huh?

Cheating in more ways than just the one? Or are you fishing, trying to get other people to try and guess. :)

Thom: 1 Check — George: 1 Check — Vivian: 1 Check

Looks like a lot of patrons are cheating. Something's happening, methinks.

Yes to both. I will give hints if no one gets close.
*casts line out with juicy plot bait*

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

For the sake of this guys entrance are there any holes in the school wards. I would like to avoid making any and assume all baddies keep in touch. :)

Edit- Next thing you know a patron is going to pick up Kalesril saying he is a sub champion because theirs keep dying to fast. Madness is picking on me. >.<

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

My patrons not cheating I'm completely mortal…if slightly unstable…

Fear the Mouse wrote:

To be fair, my Patron isn't cheating on purpose yet. He just knows the rules and all their loopholes... which might be considered cheating by some.

Even if there were, Soli would have patched them all up. Unfortunately, there is precedent for feinds in disguise getting in under the "Family can see their Family" rule...

Well, everyone expects Knowledge to cheat. ;P

I'm not commenting on Dreams cheating. I had to redact it last time. :)

You know its hard to curse yourself. Its not so much for Kalersil to get in as for his reason to be there, the family thing would not work with him. Um are their any fiend summoners or diobolist in the school. I know the summoners club has been a little over reaching lately. Think they can call a nasty fiend/fiends?

Shadow Lodge

You had to redact that first way Dream is cheating, the second part you could email me about.

Kalesril, I'm willing to bet there is at least one idiot in Avalon that thinks he can bind a fiend. Considering there is a batch of disappearing chalk...

Huh, just had a thought that could put a screeching halt to a plan.

Does anyone else think that, if there isn't supposed to be an extraplanar travel in or out of Agartha, that summoning shouldn't work? That could mean that Agartha is a bunch of planes all on it's own, and that the gem dragons that created it were far more powerful than they've been given credit for.

Female Kobold

Yes, because this is an optimal time to retcon. :P

I think the original idea was that summoning just brought stuff from a different part of Agartha...and then we got lazy with it...actually your idea works. I mean, if you can create one demiplace there's no reason why you can't create other...in fact, it might be the back door as it were. There are ways into the attached demiplanes, but not out, except there may be an exit from one...only things have deteriorated and there are occasional cracks in the seals. If any of that made any sense.

Ok I can work with that.

I think of it as a filter more then a wall, summoning works and some types of magic but stright up intrusion gets blocked. Anyways it was already stated that time has been wearing away at it, unless I am mistaken. Should hire Solivala to renovate. :P

To put it another way, Agartha is like a bunch of ant farms in a much bigger ant farm(the Empire). Each of the Agarthian ant farms are different and connect to each other in some way. The glass of the Agarthian ant farms is starting to crack due to wear and tear, so ants can get in and out.

Yes, I think I get that. Makes sense. And creates some interesting ideas of just what kind of allies they had when they built these places. :)

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

Mind approving this before I post it or not so I can change it.

Iynora:

A lone student draws a series of complex runes and circles, using a small pile of chalk.

"This will show those snobs that kicked me out of the club. Can't wait to see the look on their faces when I bring in a pit fiend."

He flips thru the tome he had open. He sprinkles silver dust over the design. Inspecting every detail until he finds it to be flawless he begins the ritual. Soon a large devil with folded wings acting like a cloak looks upon the mortal before him clear contempt in his ember eyes.

"You dare to call me."

Its eyes carefully scan the binding design for a weakness. It finds none, but the design is strange it uses reinforcing circles and runes. It answered the question how he was called by such a weak summoner but as a result it was weaker then a normal circle. The mortal spoke.

"Your going to serve me for a week. If not I'll bind you into this."

He produced a silver longsword with holy runes inscribed along the blade. The pit fiend's eyes narrowed.

"That was your last mistake maggot."

A massive heat filled the room. The frantic student kept an eye on the design he had made, to his horror small flames were escaping at the angles. The pit fiend smiled bearing its rows of sharp fangs.

"There is a reason circle's are used over more powerful symbol's. Not that you'll live to learn that."

In moments the pit fiend was free and the foolish student dead. It could sense much life and power in this new place. Waving a clawed hand ash and fire swirl to form a humanoid shape. It had summoned a puragaus devil, more commonly known as a immolation devil.

"Call for some scouts."

The immolation devil obeys and a trio of bone devils appear.

"Find out as much as you can about this place without being seen. Don't do anything else understood."

The bone devils nod then disappear setting off to explore.

I am around and I would like some help with what to give Enre when he is unsealed. I have an idea but well trying to make it work in game seems to be proving slightly tough.

Well, let's see the idea and then we can help you with the mechanics. If you want it to be more of a surprise you can email me, or just put it up here if you don't mind folks knowing.

I do not care if the others find out plus the more ideas the better. As for the idea he is suppose to like an Apex predator if it around he can find it and hurt it. When unsealed his physical stats go right up along with his senses. He also gets the uses of his racial traits when unsealed. As for the explanation for what I have, Fast Healing is because of all the loving DNA in him makes him heal quickly. Ferocity is because he is tough to kill and will keep coming. Frightful Presence I did because when he is unsealed things can tell he is dangerous like primal fear. The immunities are because his body is hard to effect. Natural Armor was because his muscles and skin get tougher. Scent is one I did not know about. I wanted some way for him to know things are around and blindsense/blindsight seemed a bit much.

Spoiler:

Str: 40
Dex: 20
Con: 34
Int: 20
Wis: 12
Cha: 8
Fast Healing (Ex) 10
Ferocity (Ex)
Frightful Presence (Ex)
Immunity (Ex) Blind, Paralyze, Poison,Stun,Daze.
Natural Armor: 10
Scent (Ex)

Now if you think anything is to much or to little feel free to comment on it.I am fine with mean comments or if you really think something is dumb just means I got to work harder. Also if you need me to explain something better just ask.

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

Dude your like Kalesril's little mortal brother. XD

I would say your kinda going for a titan feel with some predator aspects. I would add darkvision, some kind of DR, and max out the perception skill to name a few things.

I have perception maxed out. I was thinking about giving him DR and dark vision. The problem with the DR was I had no idea how to give it to him and have it make sense.

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

Also throw in rock throwing and trample as special attacks but tweaked so its not dependent on your size. Enlarged Attacks would fit him too, treats natural attacks and weapons as if he was two sizes larger. I think that would make it clear he is a hulk. ;)

Make it DR/magic, unless you have some reason. He has no spellcasting right?

What if we went off of the Invulnerable Rager archtype, and go with DR/- equal to half his Hit Dice? Perhaps make it even stronger than when he is sealed too.

He is a armored hulk/hexcrafter character. He can cast spells but he does best with spells that debuff. The larger size thing sounds cool along with rock throwing. I was thinking Invulnerable Rager but idea for character fit better with the Armored Hulk archetype.

The kobold hurries back to his room. What does he know? Did he see Yervicc? What was that brat doing in Kuros?
Expulsion, yes, that's it. That's the way to go. I just need to find a charge--

He stops. Then he continues, walking quicker.
The slurks. I can claim he put the musk on them. He's an alchemist, it'll sound plenty plausible. Yes, I'll stick him with that charge and have him expelled. Only way. Little brat...

Wonderfully done, KC! You have found a way to to place blame on the actually culprit without knowing he actually did it! :)

Now make the charge stick.

The charge itself shouldn't be too hard. There seems to be an awful lot of evidence supporting this case.

...
...hmm...
Oh well. I have a brat to frame!

EDIT: What I love most about this is that if it works, Michael has to leave the school just as it was becoming enjoyable. Making Vakkler that much more of a jerk.
If anybody who never reads Vakkler's dialogue wasn't already certain, this is why Vakkler is Lawful Neutral and not Lawful Good.

Lynora I sent an email awhile ago but site was down.

Female Kobold

Isn't it a bit funny how, in order to use one communication, we're forced to use another?
I know, it's so folk notice the emails quicker. Still... XD

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin makes a decent defense if Michael needs it. But really murder is a bit strong, great bodily harm would be closer to the truth.

I saw other people doing it so I figured that was the standard. Also I suggest getting netflixs I am watching movies I have not seen since I was a kid so great the memories.

Replied to the email. And yes, it is kinda hilarious. I'd probably have notice it earlier since my ipad chimes when I get email, but I didn't have it out since I'm working on math, the one subject I don't use it for taking notes for. :)

Although I have no idea how I'm going to get all of this done by tomorrow. So. Much. Homework. :(

They call it college algebra, but really it's just precalculus part one. Right now I'm struggling my way through synthetic division which was nice and simple until they started using it to do wacky things with functions. And then it's fun with complex numbers. Imaginary numbers give me a headache...the real ones were bad enough. :P

Oh, and Enre, I replied to your email.

Male Fiend (Unknown) Fighter/Monk 16

Just to be clear and give a quick break down. There is a room with a pit fiend and immolation devil. Three bone devils running around spying on the place while invisibile. A astradeamon hunting down the bone devils by flying close to the roof with a stealth mod of +23. With lastly what looks like a tiefling monk running around toward earlier stated room with a base speed of 140 ft. for some reason I am reminded of the road runner.

Anyways I think thats covers things so far. Please leave the pit fiend to my guy, everything else is fair game. ;)

Female Kobold

Think I found the theme song for Vakkler. His more sympathetic side, anyways.

Someone yell devil I want to hit things. I replied back Lynora.

Oh but Asch has never killed a pit fiend yet :(
