Lyn, perhaps an encounter that isn't so easily to power through would be a good change of pace? We need a giant puzzle!
I don't know...if I can keep time to post, I'd love to actually have a reason for this whole 'courage' thing to manifest, and this might be a good fit. And I'm in the mood to rip something a new one (not that Fei would be, of course ^.^)
Still haven't settled on anything remotely appealing ability-wise, though.
Aside from the current fun, there's still another massive combat in the pipeline before any potential puzzles. In other words, you'll have opportunities. As far as abilities...yeah, I'm having a hard time coming up with suggestions that aren't a total rip-off of GL...once the idea got stuck it wouldn't go away.
And good luck dealing with all the work stuff.

I've made it to the Snipe Hunt now, and I'm noticing that both Krays and Solivala averted nasty fights by taking control of really dangerous creatures. The ghost and the adamant golem.
Yes, darn them. :)
You have no idea how much I was scrambling at those points...and cursing myself for not better remembering the abilities of the characters.| Kalesril |
Here is an update, as far as I know it.
Pit Fiend walking around school in human form. (undetectable expect by those with super fiend senses, Kalesril has them)
Immolation Devil guarding the rift. (I consider the other one destroyed)
5 Bone Devils (one exploring the others guarding, I consider the other two lost)
Astradeamon hunting the last stray bone devil.
Keketar wandering the school causing extensive chaos with its reshape reality.
I think thats all. :)
Vakkler Relkav
Vakkler and Michel both pause, hearing a crash.
"I'll deal with it..." Vakkler grumbles. The kobold steps around the debris and opens the door.
A bone devil stands there disemboweling a student. It turns, frowning at Vakkler. "What?"
"Keep it down. SOME of us care about our grades character development, you know." Vakkler slams the door.
The fiend shrugs and continues with its work--though perhaps a bit quieter.

I hope you remember that Kalesril has that ability to when it comes to fiends. So next time you have a baddie surrounded by demons dont be surprised when he turns them on their former master. XP

"Looks like someone opened a portal to hell and devils are overrunning the school again. Now, where were we?"
EDIT: And now we see one of Vakkler's very few advantages: Industry. Whether it be traps or magical crossbow bolts, industry is what keeps him alive.
Of course, an icy burst effect isn't going to save him this time. He's a tiny bit out of his league, methinks. :P

Snagged the playtest...
Don't worry about Ryuzo interfering with Vakkler and Decamara...it'll take as long to find them as necessary to settle your conflict...if he gets there before, at most he'll observe, unless he thinks Michael is going to die...
I'll leave it up to ya'll

Also "technically" Asch's shadow blades can only create light weapons. Though since this is rules light what's "technically" mean right?
Since when were Katana considered light weapons? And yes, your battle fury is going to be a great help. Well, that and the tactical and creative genies of Sadie and Aananda, respectively.

I give credit the boost from Madness.
The katana only worked cause at the time I had exotic weapon for shadow assassin allowing me to treat an exotic weapon as light for purposes of abilities.

Class abilities it was still a one handed weapon i could just use the shadow assassin abilities with it.
P.S. I'm on lunch for a bit so I'm at home.

Ouch. Best of luck.
Many thanks - I really hope my coworker can find something, and I hope I will not have to either....

My problem is that everything I've had a chance to look at just rolls back to Bard - though I should take a closer look at the Paladin...
Anywhoo, I guess I should try to get to work on some student involvement here while I have a chance. ^.^
If the keketar is not engaged with anyboy, I'll try to take a crack at that part, if nobody objects.

Also finished making tweaks to Ephebe. Thanks, Asch, for pointing out the time thief. I replaced her reverse time by 1 minute which was a nightmare to adjudicate with some less powerful but still cool abilities from there. Also discovered that there was a Time mystery for oracle and promptly made the appropriate adjustments. :)

So they put out a race making guide. I am going to go flesh out Enre's race with that if that is okay with everyone. I also suggest people make up races and we vote on them just to help the creative thinking going.
Sure, no problem. :)
Mrdarknlight
Here is Enre's race now called Djöfull which is Icelandic for devil. It is a 39 RP race. I had to change some of the abilities around to have them the way I wanted them but I kept the cost the same for most. Any suggestions or comments would be great.
Monstrous Humanoid (2 RP)
Monstrous humanoids are similar to humanoids, but with monstrous or animalistic features. They often have magical abilities as well. A monstrous humanoid race has the following features.
• Monstrous humanoid races have the darkvision 60 ft.
racial ability.
• Monstrous humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.
Medium (0 RP): Medium races have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. A Medium creature has a space of 5 feet by 5 feet and a reach of 5 feet.
Normal Speed (0 RP): The race has a base speed of 30 feet.
Advanced Modifiers (4 RP): Prerequisites: Advanced or Monstrous power level; Modifiers: Pick either mental or physical ability scores. Members of this race gain a +2 to all of those scores, +4 to one score of the other type, and –2 to one other ability score of the other type.
Standard Array (1 RP): Members of this race start with Common plus their racial language (if any). Furthermore, choose up to seven languages (except for Druidic or other secret languages). Members of this race with high Intelligence scores can choose any of those languages as their bonus languages.
Advanced Strength (4 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race receive a +2 racial bonus to Strength. This bonus can be taken multiple times. Its effects stack.
Ferocity (4 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: When a member of this race’s hit points fall below 0 but it is not yet dead, it can continue to fight. If it does, it is staggered, and loses 1 hit point each round. Members of this race still die when their hit points reach a negative amount equal to their Constitution score.
Scent (4 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race gain the scent ability.
Natural Armor (2 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race gain a +1 natural armor bonus.
Physical Immunities (4 RP): Prerequisites: Monstrous Humanoid; Benefit:
Members of this race are immune to paralysis, poison, disease, and stun.
Improved Natural Armor (12 RP): Prerequisites: Natural armor racial ability; Benefit:
Members of this race gain a +1 natural armor bonus.
Special: This racial ability can be taken multiple times. Its effects stack.
Lightbringer (2 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race are immune to light-based blindness and dazzle effects.

Pretty cool. It seems like it has just about everything that you aren't getting from your Barbarian levels.
So, anyone else really digging the contrast between the two seperate fights? In the halls we've got all action and little words, but below in the sewers we've got verbal fencing with some combat added in.
Vakkler moving the fight to the sewers really jumped up the cinematic feel for me too.

+1 on the cool factor of the Djofull.
And yeah, I'm definitely digging the cinematic feel of the battle in the sewers.
Also, Madness is a happy camper right now. The work he's been doing with the summoners has more than paid off, Michael is totally melting down and therefore contributing to Vakkler's meltdown, and the two people he most want dead are in an isolated location far away from any help who are too busy with their own problems right now anyways. :)
lynora
Hmmm…since Asch is the champion of darkness…can he sense Michael's use of it and discover he is being used by madness might be the only way he gets out of this in anyway ok.
Not sure. I mean, it would make sense if you were right there and saw him using powers drawn from madness that you would recognize it. But not from a distance and not unless he was actively using that power at the time.

Well, yeah, that makes sense. Hmm...there are lots of people who use shadows and this is a battle situation...recognizing that Michael is using shadow would probably require a visual right now. Doesn't mean he can't be jumping around looking for trouble and get a visual at some point, but it doesn't really make sense otherwise. It's not like he's omniscient. :)

You guys wanted demons well you got them now. Btw doesn't the school have an alarm or something, is Solivala the only one who put one in?
Asch I put that balor in just for you, feel free to rip him apart or the vrolakia sense he is stepping on your style. I accept cookies as thanks, more so if their bat cookies with chocolate frosting. ;)

Oh, that makes sense.
So, we're in a school where the average level is about 16. Anything below that isn't much of a threat.Better leave the dangerous ones alone.
Though, now that we're on that subject...do these demons realize this is the worst school they could try to feast on? A good number of these 'innocent kids' could go toe-to-toe with Dagon on a good day.
(a good number = a a good number fighting it at once, of course)
Kalesril
Kalesril may take care of the problem or some of the other students for that matter. Still the rift is the biggest threat, the wider it gets the more powerful the being that can step thru.
Solivala is too lawful he wont unleash his clockwork armies in the school without permission. I wanted to see the pocketwatch in his general outfit again. T.T
