The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Is the conversation between Krays and Alton over? I think that's the only thing that needs to be wrapped up before we switch over to the next day.

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

I think so...
Krays has a day of recoup, or until he can take kobold form again.

As Rokk enters The Above for the 1st time in his life the brightness overwhelms him. He takes a ragged strip of cloth and covers his eyes, the gauze shielding his eyes from the strength of the Agarthan sun. He begins his trek out of the hills, heading for the shade of the valley below. The ground is softer here. To his feet it is like walking on fur. The brightness of the sun is hidden from time to time by tall columns. They're hard to the touch and rough. High above him the columns are crowned by canopies of green. The shade allows his eyes to adjust more quickly, and he is able to remove the gauze. After several hours exhaustion sets in and he searches for a secluded cranny in which to get some long-overdue sleep.

Shifting frequently in his sleep, his cloak parts and his tattooed skin reveals a shifting swirl of color. A scene takes shape, viewed by no one save perhaps the small animals in the area.

A young girl forages for food in the alleys of a run down dock area. She is covered completely in rough cloth. The only opening is a slit for her eyes. The people in the area look hardened; dangerous. Rough language, dirt, and sadness are the norm. This is a dangerous place for a girl on the cusp of womanhood to be alone.

A rough trio of men exit a tavern, swaying slightly from drink. The spot the young girl. Her back is too them. Evil grins spread upon their faces as they look at each other and nod. Two of them break ranks and make their way to the other end of the alley. The third draws a dagger and heads slowly towards the girl. He is halfways down the alley before the girl senses him. She turns and begins to back up, quickly shifting to make a break for it. She runs smack dab into the arms of his two companions. The man laugh. Their prey is caught. The girl struggles weakly against her abductors. Her eyes harden, and she screams. The screams go unnoticed. "No. You don't want to do this," she finally says. The men laugh.

"Yes, we do," is the only reply, save for the actions of the man with the dagger. He begins to cut at her clothing, revealing her legs. The man grins. His companions chuckle. Holding the dagger in his left hand, he uses his right to caress her young leg, his smile widening as his lust grows. The girl stops struggling, her green eyes take on an inner fire.

The attacker stops, a look of shock on his scarred face. He screams and backs up, dropping his dagger and clutching his right forearm. His hand smolders then begins to sizzle. The smoldering spreads, working its way up his arm. His screams drown out even the din of the dock area. His companions look on with shock. Their grip loosens slightly. The girl kicks one of them with her exposed leg. She is rewarded with a punch from the other. A punch that knocks loose the shroud she is wearing. The man's fist glides across her cheek with the glancing blow. Her skin reacts in its usual fashion. The girl is dazed, and the men throw her against a wall. The loud thump is followed by her collapsing body.

The screams form the 1st man continue to get louder, and soon he is joined by his fellows. A chorus of screams draws attention, even in this rough area. Each man looks in shock as a part of his body begins to melt away; two hands and one leg. As a crowd gathers, the last words the men scream out as they die is that the young girl is a Sea Witch. She is Poison. The crowd's faces change from confusion and shock to a single face of fear.

The dwarf rolls over in his sleep and the scene is hidden. Perhaps Fate is not so cruel. No sound comes from his illustrations.

Emone wakes up to darkness. She is bound tightly. The smell of leather surrounds her. She has been found out again. Rummaging in the alley during daylight had been a risk, but if she had waited until darkness she would have had to compete with the rats for her dinner. Not wanting her captors to know that she has regained consciousness, she stays as still as possible, fighting her growing fear that this time might spell her death.

Having fun with the character making? I hope you been working on these for awhile if not I need to work on my character writing skills. I had the idea for Enre for years and still took me awhile to get the back story right, while also getting the right class combo.

Hehe. Not long. Writing twisted stuff is easy for me. And weird ideas pop into my head regularly. Not sure why I was thinking about Ray Bradbury's Ilustrated Man. May just use Rokk as a narrator figure.

This is just back story stuff. Not sure what I want to do with classes yet. Sea Witch is a deragatory name for a race, not a class necessarily. Emone is part Rogue/Poison Ivy/anemone-jelly fish.

Brainstorming. And seeing what sticks. Weird that I've gravitated to two outcasts. Even among outcasts.

Yeppers - E7 can belt stuff out rather quickly.

Good stuff ;)

Thanks. Maybe I'll start up that novel this winter. It's good to get the juices flowing again. :)

Shadow Lodge

That reminds me, I never sent you the story I wrote, did I? It's based around why Taron isn't so freaking bored he could split Agartha in half.

I imagine Agartha splitting looking like those geodes with the crsytals inside

Shadow Lodge

Are you still using the email address you gave me?

EDIT: If so, check it.

Like When Psycrystals Go Rogue? ;P

As long as it's not Ammy. I have plans that need him.

And now I remember why I missed you so much in this game E7. :)

You can come up with all sorts of crazy without even trying. I have to really work to get stuff even half that good. :)

Shadow Lodge

Yeah, he's definitely a crazy kind of tree!

I think we can move tot he next day now.

I have decided that each of the student's rooms has either 1 or 2 bathrooms, depending on whether or not there is more than 1 student.

No one should have to share a bathroom with Jiminy(teen or baby) after all.

Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!

How long do we have to wait for the fetid-acidy-water pool expansion to the rooms?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just want to say if Cyra and me don't post often for the next month or so we are planning our hallowen wedding :D

Grats indeed!

Congrats, you two. :)

Hope all the planning goes smoothly. And with a minimum of tears. :)

Shadow Lodge

Congratulations all around! Will you be dressed like the Adams Familit for the wedding?

Female Kobold

Congrats!

So, I could use some advice on the whole dragon scale-potential mob subplot. Is there a particular time that would be best? And to those who would know, how should Agarthians react? I imagine the locals might be used to weird stuff from the school, after all.

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

I didn't plan for that actually, so run with it. Had Krays been more mindful, he would have grabbed it. Vakkler can confront him on being a dragon if he wishes, the rest of the faculty is aware :P
Or he could realize he has a black dragon's respect, and be amazed :P

Bear in mind the limits of Vakkler's situation.

He is aware of the threat of some chromatic/metallic dragon empire. Krays could be a spy, and he's not sure how to react to that.

He doesn't hold much trust in anyone, since he has a Snyder approach to students and most of the teachers are scary.

The source of information he relies upon is a derro serving Fear.

He lives in a realm that sees dragons as 'teh evulest'.

It's not his own reaction I'm wondering about. :P

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

It takes some time to work up a proper mob...there's already some stuff set to go down during the concert, and a mob of angry citizens would really add to the craziness.
I think normally there would probably be a group of concerned citizens sent to confront the headmaster in a relatively polite respectful manner, hoping that their fears would be assuaged in some way, ie, oh, that, it's an antique, a spell component, etc. But in the current climate with Madness actively working against the school an angry mob is more likely.
Most Agarthians have been raised to believe that all dragons are bloodthirsty monsters bent on nothing but destruction.

I'd like to get something of my chest: The concert is not a Battle of the Bands.

Feiri's mention of the door being left open as part of his intimidation tactics caused me to retaliate.

And everyone thought Jiminy was a good liar...[/eye roll]

Through gritted teeth, "She was joking. JOKING. And believe me, you have more than paid me back..."

*goes to plot revenge schemes against annoying older brother*

;P

And just so you know, the particular nuttiness that's scheduled to happen during the concert has been in place since shortly after the game started...as part of requested story arcs for Soli and Vakkler (originally just for Vakkler, Soli's arc just tied in neatly...and provided the means). It will be epic...literally. :P

Stop going through my stuff and I'll stop messing with you. You'll also stop finding things that make you blush, but that's just a reason to stay out of my room all on it's own.

Who said it made me blush? Don't get me wrong, it's definitely filed under TMI, but I am not that easy to embarrass.

pony lvrs monthly? really???? that is just twisted bro... ;P

That one's mine actually. I only ever got to gallop through the skies on a nightmare after all, and when you're eight and riding through the demonic plane on a skeletal horse with a mane made of flame isn't as fun as you were told it would be.

You wanna share the memory? Taron showed me how to do that. Think of it as a learning exercise.

Male Kobold Expert 6/Slayer 8

Sent y'an email, Lynora.
So, I need to get my bearings. It is morning, and the concert is...day after tomorrow? I want to know how quickly Vakkler needs to get back.

Another question: Can the Champion of Fear's illusions get past Ryo's wards, if they're being used to provoke terror?

Depends in part on whether they're his special champion ability. But I think Ryo gets final say on this one. :)

KC, responded to your email.

Female Kobold

Isn't it fun in a roleplay to include text that nobody else should by rights be reading?
Yeah, I like posting Vakkler's thoughts too.
;D

Says the woman who had two of the Champions teleport out of the wards because, and I quote,
Ephebe wrote:
"You're a Champion. There aren't wards enough in the multiverse to prevent you from teleporting to wherever you want."

Now, if you want a way to get around the wards, illusions that make you think you been hurt when you actually haven't would be the way to do it.

Hey, we've been over the Champions ability to teleport before. That's part of their special schtick and has been previously agreed on. Illusions weren't as clear cut. :)

Is that a 'yes'? :P

To clarify, can his illusions hold against any magical investigation Ryo might attempt?

There are currently no wards to even weaken such illusions.

If I have a reason to think they are illusions, then it is quite possible there will be magical investigation. How easily that investigation is up to you, of course.

Okay, just thought I should know before the event so I don't make false assumptions.
