As someone who lives in a place where it regularly gets to -40 that this is an urban myth.
However, I think Icehawk is right that it would freeze fairly quickly... it would still be horribly painful though. Look at the Firebird's reaction to even a little frost on the ground. Kinda the opposite eh?

Its really not as bad as people make it out to be. I've got up to almost 2000 posts for Tyb and less than 10 have been on anything other than my phone.

My thumbs seriously start hurting after a couple posts from my phone. Doesn't help that to make an italic or bold tag takes like 10 button pushes minimum, and even more to untag.
Also... I do alot of double checking of previous conversations, to ensure I don't make any continuity errors, and that is extremely difficult to do on the phone.

these thigs happen we just haven't figured out why yet.
people perform certain actions and a result occurs. the exact science as to why is unknown but it happens.
its really all a point of view type thing. maybe thre are some sort of brainwave patterns that heven't been identified. or peerhaps there are certain chemicals in the air that certain people are sensitive too.
its undiscovered as to why these things occur they just do..
