Trane Loften |

Trane gestures to Bryce pretending to shoot a bow at someone. Trane begins to concentrate and claws and teeth in a mouth like a lion begin to form. He hugs his lion and points ahead.
They are dispirited, a brutal charge may break them!!
He points to Eric and Cananthir and seems to be giving them the halt sign as he points to the stealthy members of the party.
We are trying for a surprise attack. Trane will wait for his lion and Bryce to get into position as they are much better at stealth.

Bryce Sidanris |

Bryce nods at Trane's suggestion, takes careful aim and shoots his crossbow bolt at the nearest gnoll, before courageously running away behind Thrane, Cananthir and Chaandra.
Initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Crossbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Versus flat-footed enemy, I hope, for a sneak attack, if within range
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (5) = 7

Velcore Valiantheart |

Once Velcore hears the battle start he charges from the hallway to flank the Gnolls. Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Trane Loften |

The older druid realizes the confines of the narrow opening will probably only allow one of them to charge in and surprise the hideous creatures. He points to the fighter who showed an aptitude to cleave two monsters with one blow to take the honors.
I think by the charging rules, only one of us can get a surprise round charge. I recommend we leave the direct route free for Bryce shooting and Eric charging. The rest of us melee types can rush around them and hit them hard afterwards. The two 'lions' need to be close to use all their teeth and claws. I think this is our better plan. They may not want to fight if things go well early :-)

Eric Utherson |

I'm not sure where I'd be starting from by looking at the map, but if I can charge I would want to end up at E 15
Greatsword w/PA: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 2) + 9 = 17
confirm crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 = 15
Cleave: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 for damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 6) + 9 = 20
initative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Bryce Sidanris |

Seeing that gnolls are in complete disarray, Bryce allows himself one grim smile before taking another shot at his former target.
Crossbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Versus flat-footed enemy, I hope, for a sneak attack, if within range
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + (2) = 10
...before moving deeper inside the room in order to take cover. Originally he wanted to move towards the back, but he understood that the party is progressing towards him alerted by gnolls shouts, so he goes for the safety of the door at the other side.
Move to K17, after the shot

Garm Stoutsole |

My surprise round action will be to use Inspire Courage the moment that the party starts attacking.
By dying ember morn,
Shall we venture into the Blight,
By might of arms and heathen's scorn,
Shall we wrest Death from it's rest tonight!

Trane Loften |

Surprise
Trane rushes to take the other side (D15) and attacks as Chaandra's bite is too high (vsC15 too).

Eric Utherson |

Eric moves to D17 (maybe drawing an AoO or two) flanks gnoll 3 (with Trane) and gnoll 6 (with Chaandra) and attacks gnoll 3 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 15 for damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14 and then attacks via cleave gnoll 6Cleave: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 26 for damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14

Trane Loften |

Trane drops his scimitar and attacks with his claws and bite.
He tries to maximize flanking.

Eric moves around Gnoll #3, provoking an attack of opportunity:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
but, the creature misses with its blow!
Eric attacks #3 and strikes it for enough damage to kill it, then whirls and attacks #6 with a cleave strike that kills it too!
Trane and Chaandra attack #5 simultaneously, and proceed to tear it to shreds, killing it!
Garm moves and continues his Bardic music...
Cananthir manages to scramble around #4 and strikes it a critical blow, killing it!
Only #6 is left alive...

Velcore Valiantheart |

Velcore moves closer to the room with the battle and yells at the creature."Surrender and you may have your life!!!!"

Bryce Sidanris |

Bryce readies an attack but waits for the gnoll's reaction. He is willing to let him surrender and leave in exchange for any information of this "Master".
Crossbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Ooops :-(

![]() |

Gnoll: The Master is Lareth...he is very powerful! He resides farther down these corridors. Keep traveling onward, and you will find him.

Velcore Valiantheart |

Velcore marches up into the Gnoll's face, blade at the ready."What is this Lareth you speak of, is he a Gnoll like you?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Garm Stoutsole |

At theg nolls last comment I whirl around attempting to discern the sound of incoming intruders.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Do I see the incoming horde of Fiendish bugbears descending upon our heads?
