The quartet of vegepygmies in the waiting area south of the starboard airlock duck to either side of Saissha's water blast! The water splashes over the floor behind them before beginning to quickly evaporate....

Initiative Monkey |

Artifact miners vs vegepygmies, ROUND 2!! Eeeek!! Eeeek!!
Geirmur!
Zed! (Casts acid spray on a russet mold)
Vegepygmy! (3 double-move from western desk to center of reception area; 8 in eastern waiting area open door into starboard airlock)
Saissha! (Casts readied water blast at vegepygmies in eastern waiting area)
Gnaarrg! (Burns down four vegepygmies in eastern waiting area with readied firebomb)
Nalket!
Lady Zal-Azra!
OOH!! OOH!! AH!!

Michael Johnson 66 |

What are the positions of the Vegepygmies now, map-wise?
3 vegepygmies form a line from north to south across the area on the map that has the purple oval that says Trans Travel (note that this marking is just a title and doesn't represent any actual object in the reception area).
4 more vegepygmies are standing in a 10-ft-square south of the round table in the easternmost waiting area. (Gnaarrg dropped 4 in the 10-ft-square directly south of the airlock door.)
Another patch of russet mold occupies the planter west of the elevator; 2 more planters can be seen inside the easternmost waiting area.

Michael Johnson 66 |

pops her had out of cover to see what its going on.
She can see three vegepygmies that came from the western reception desk area now forming a line north-south just south of the central elevator.... More alarmingly, she sees the south airlock door is now open, and 4 more vegepygmies are about to attack from the waiting area! The artifact miners are now fighting a skirmish on two fronts!

Michael Johnson 66 |

Geirmur grunts with satisfaction at his kill, and reloads his weapon while mentally focusing for the next shot.
I reload my musket as a full-round action.
To clarify, in case the order of actions is unclear (it's hard to keep things sequential with PBP, of course), Geirmur spent round 2 reloading, and now it's his turn again at the top of round 3.... Right, Initiative Monkey?

Zed Nexus |

Zed rushes forward to engage the middle plant creature of the trio holding the line.
Zed charges the middle plant creature and swings his morningstar.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

[dice=Attack]1d20+7
[dice=Damage]1d8+3
Dashing a few feet ahead of Geirmur and Nalket, Zed cracks the gourd-like skull of the middlemost vegepygmy with a mighty wallop of his morningstar!
CRUUUUNNCCCHHH!!!
The middle vegepygmy collapses in a squishy green pile on the floor between its fellows!

Michael Johnson 66 |

looks to the south seeing the mechanism that closes the door.
Perception 1d20+4
The door can be closed and sealed with a wheel-shaped valve, but the method of locking or unlocking it seems to involve advanced technology.... Knowledge (engineering) check from Lady Zal-Azra, please....

Michael Johnson 66 |

Knowledge (engineering)1d20+8 well that's good
Lady Zal-Azra notices a tiny, thin, metallic slot in the doorframe that looks as if it is designed to take a card-shaped key.... Intuition tells her that's how the door could be locked or unlocked. A brown panel to the right of the slot seems to indicate a color-coding of some kind. Glancing quickly at the vegepygmies clustered together in the room south of the airlock, her keen elven eyes fall on an inconspicuous detail: a brown card, about the size of a playing card, tucked into the viny rope-belt wrapped around the waist of one of the vegepygmies....

Lady Zal -Azra Qlin-Zra |

She takes her time and points her light cross bow at the green critter with the card, then lets lose a shot.
TH 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 DMG1d6 ⇒ 6
"Grab the brown flat playing card thing from the thing I just shots belt. It can lock the south door."
She reloads.

Gnaarrg |

"Got it."
Gnaarrg reloads her crossbow, fitting it with a barbed bolt affixed to her rope and opens fire on the vegepygmy lady Zal-Azra pointed out.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Once the bolt has impaled the body, she lets go of the crossbow and starts pulling the body over to her position where she can get to cover if needed.

The bolt sinks into the vegepygmy's chest, and it falls motionless, emitting a gurgling rattle before it falls silent!

The rope-trailing barbed bolt flies true, hooking the fallen vegepygmy in the pit of its right arm.... The little body is light, and Gnaarrg drags it across the floor toward her quickly and with ease!

Saissha |

While this is going on Saissha sends another blast of water at one of the vegepygmies in the reception area
ranged attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

[dice=ranged attack roll]1d20+3
[dice=damage roll]1d6+4"Dodge THAT you vegetable nuisance!"
Saissha's hydrokinetic blast slams into the south-most vegepygmy with the force of a sledgehammer, and it falls lifeless to the floor in a quickly-evaporating puddle!
1 vegepygmy still up in the reception area, and 3 left in the waiting area.

Vegepygmy warrior |

Nalket brings her spear down, ready to stab at any vegepygmy that closes with the party.
Round 3:
As the last vegepygmy standing in the reception area lunges at Zed with its spear, Nalket's readied thrust with her own longspear catches it in the shoulder, and it hisses in pain....
HHIIIISSSS!!!!
....but continues its stab at Zed.... spear 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18.... piercing Zed for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage!
The three remaining vegepygmies in the waiting area chase the body of the barbed vegepygmy as Gnaarrg draws it into the airlock, making it into the airlock before the artifact miners have a chance to close and lock the airlock door!
One thrusts its spear at Gnaarrg's cyborg horse, Maagun.... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20, dealing 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 piercing damage!
Another stabs at Geirmur's ox.... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4, somehow missing the great beast....
The third stabs at Gnaarrg.... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3, but the hobgoblin dodges the spear thrust!

Zed Nexus |

Zed recoils slightly as the spear grazes his arm. He takes a moment to look behind at Nalket.
"Thanks."

Geirmur Breeland |

Right, the ox. I'll have to get it combat trained eventually.
Geirmur, hearing his ox's cries of displeasure at being attacked, moves about 10 feet to the side, peering into the airlock from a distance. Seeing his Ox under attack, he lowers his musket and takes aim at the vegepygmy stabbing at his ox.
Musket: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
He looses the shot too quickly, however, and it goes wide of the creature, striking one of the walls of the airlock with a loud clanging noise. Geirmur swears loudly in Kellid and prepares to reload for his next shot.
The ox, startled by the attack and the following gunshot, snorts and stamps its feet unhappily, but without direction from Geirmur is unsure of what to do and takes no action.
Not sure how you're handling animal actions, so I stayed as close to the rules as I could and had it do nothing since I didn't make a check. Is that appropriate?

Yes, that seems appropriate.

Zophal, Technic League Captain |

Outside the Silver Turret and a hundred feet away, on the precipice of the great crater, the shots fired from Geirmur's musket can be heard as sharp reports echoing from the open starboard airlock door....
They have run into trouble already.... Now we shall see whether or not their training was worth the expense. They'd better return with at least something to make this expedition worthwhile.... Captain Zophal mutters this more to himself than to the six hirelings and two gearsman waiting near the slave wagon with him.

Vegepygmy warrior |

As they come into the air lock, Zal lest lose another shot,
note 100% on the init of this, but she will shoot, of at them -> TH 1d20+2 DMG1d6
The vegepygmy jerks, hissing in pain, as the bolt catches it in the shoulder.... but it remains on its feet, glaring with pupilless yellow eyes at Lady Zal-Azra!

Vegepygmy warrior |

Glancing at the quartet of lifeless vegepygmies on the waiting room floor south of the starboard airlock, another reeled into the airlock by Gnaarrg with her barbed bolt and rope, and a few more lying motionless by the easternmost reception desk (10 down altogether), the remaining vegepygmies (1 in the reception area and 3 in the starboard airlock) suddenly seem to realize as one that they are outmatched by these interlopers!
The single vegepygmy in the reception area withdraws to the west, darting to the port-side airlock door between another pair of weapon-detectors.... The booming feminine voice repeats its alien warning, and an image of the vegepygmy's primitive spear, barely recognized as a weapon by the advanced standards of this place's "warding spirit", appears briefly rotating on the sleek screens behind the curved desks....
The three vegepygmies in the starboard airlock abandon the futile fight, withdrawing from their erstwhile targets to leap out the open entrance door into the great crater and scramble away into the wilderness, observed with some satisfaction by Captain Zophal and his hirelings and gearsmen....
The battle is won by the Artifact Miners!

Zed Nexus |

As the creatures flee Zed stands up and moves toward the remaining patch of mold. He points at it and utters a spell.
Zed casts Acid Splash onto the last patch of mold.
"W-well that was i-interesting. S-so many of those creatures."

Zed Nexus |

Zed looks over himself and notes the cut upon his arm; shiny oil flows slowly from the wound.
"I h-have been damaged. But it is m-minor."

Michael Johnson 66 |

A quick initial glance at the bodies laying here and there reveals that these vegepygmies were nearly naked, wearing only leafy loincloths secured with vine-belts around their narrow waists, and armed with primitive javelins and longspears. However, one of the fallen vegepygmies (the one with its skull smashed in by Zed's morningstar blow) has a small bottle fashioned from a stoppered gourd tucked into its vine-belt.... and the one reeled into the airlock by Gnaarrg has a brown card of some horn-like material tucked into its vine-belt....

Zed Nexus |

Zed notices the small bottle tucked into the creatures belt and looks it over while uttering a spell.
Zed casts Detect Magic and studies the bottle.
Take 10 on a Spellcraft to identify. So 15 Spellcraft.

Zed Nexus |

Zed looks up to Nalket a blank expression on his face.
"N-no I s-should be fine for now."

Gnaarrg |

"Good. We kill them if they come back." Gnaarrg declares. She turns to her mechanical steed to assess the damage and start patching him up if needed.
sorry, i had this whole 4 paragraph post before the fight ended, but the web site went down and i hadnt saved it. :/
