The quartet of vegepygmies in the waiting area south of the starboard airlock duck to either side of Saissha's water blast! The water splashes over the floor behind them before beginning to quickly evaporate....

3 vegepygmies form a line from north to south across the area on the map that has the purple oval that says Trans Travel (note that this marking is just a title and doesn't represent any actual object in the reception area).

4 more vegepygmies are standing in a 10-ft-square south of the round table in the easternmost waiting area. (Gnaarrg dropped 4 in the 10-ft-square directly south of the airlock door.)

Another patch of russet mold occupies the planter west of the elevator; 2 more planters can be seen inside the easternmost waiting area.

She can see three vegepygmies that came from the western reception desk area now forming a line north-south just south of the central elevator.... More alarmingly, she sees the south airlock door is now open, and 4 more vegepygmies are about to attack from the waiting area! The artifact miners are now fighting a skirmish on two fronts!

To clarify, in case the order of actions is unclear (it's hard to keep things sequential with PBP, of course), Geirmur spent round 2 reloading, and now it's his turn again at the top of round 3.... Right, Initiative Monkey?

Lady Zal-Azra notices a tiny, thin, metallic slot in the doorframe that looks as if it is designed to take a card-shaped key.... Intuition tells her that's how the door could be locked or unlocked. A brown panel to the right of the slot seems to indicate a color-coding of some kind. Glancing quickly at the vegepygmies clustered together in the room south of the airlock, her keen elven eyes fall on an inconspicuous detail: a brown card, about the size of a playing card, tucked into the viny rope-belt wrapped around the waist of one of the vegepygmies....

Saissha's hydrokinetic blast slams into the south-most vegepygmy with the force of a sledgehammer, and it falls lifeless to the floor in a quickly-evaporating puddle!

Right, the ox. I'll have to get it combat trained eventually.

Geirmur, hearing his ox's cries of displeasure at being attacked, moves about 10 feet to the side, peering into the airlock from a distance. Seeing his Ox under attack, he lowers his musket and takes aim at the vegepygmy stabbing at his ox.

Musket: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

He looses the shot too quickly, however, and it goes wide of the creature, striking one of the walls of the airlock with a loud clanging noise. Geirmur swears loudly in Kellid and prepares to reload for his next shot.

The ox, startled by the attack and the following gunshot, snorts and stamps its feet unhappily, but without direction from Geirmur is unsure of what to do and takes no action.

Not sure how you're handling animal actions, so I stayed as close to the rules as I could and had it do nothing since I didn't make a check. Is that appropriate?

Yes, that seems appropriate.

Outside the Silver Turret and a hundred feet away, on the precipice of the great crater, the shots fired from Geirmur's musket can be heard as sharp reports echoing from the open starboard airlock door....

They have run into trouble already.... Now we shall see whether or not their training was worth the expense. They'd better return with at least something to make this expedition worthwhile.... Captain Zophal mutters this more to himself than to the six hirelings and two gearsman waiting near the slave wagon with him.

The vegepygmy jerks, hissing in pain, as the bolt catches it in the shoulder.... but it remains on its feet, glaring with pupilless yellow eyes at Lady Zal-Azra!

Glancing at the quartet of lifeless vegepygmies on the waiting room floor south of the starboard airlock, another reeled into the airlock by Gnaarrg with her barbed bolt and rope, and a few more lying motionless by the easternmost reception desk (10 down altogether), the remaining vegepygmies (1 in the reception area and 3 in the starboard airlock) suddenly seem to realize as one that they are outmatched by these interlopers!

The single vegepygmy in the reception area withdraws to the west, darting to the port-side airlock door between another pair of weapon-detectors.... The booming feminine voice repeats its alien warning, and an image of the vegepygmy's primitive spear, barely recognized as a weapon by the advanced standards of this place's "warding spirit", appears briefly rotating on the sleek screens behind the curved desks....

The three vegepygmies in the starboard airlock abandon the futile fight, withdrawing from their erstwhile targets to leap out the open entrance door into the great crater and scramble away into the wilderness, observed with some satisfaction by Captain Zophal and his hirelings and gearsmen....

The battle is won by the Artifact Miners!

A quick initial glance at the bodies laying here and there reveals that these vegepygmies were nearly naked, wearing only leafy loincloths secured with vine-belts around their narrow waists, and armed with primitive javelins and longspears. However, one of the fallen vegepygmies (the one with its skull smashed in by Zed's morningstar blow) has a small bottle fashioned from a stoppered gourd tucked into its vine-belt.... and the one reeled into the airlock by Gnaarrg has a brown card of some horn-like material tucked into its vine-belt....
