Appearance and Personality:
Geirmur was born a farmboy, and his roots are clear to any who hear his country accent, and he has little in the way of manners or social graces. However, he is a quick and loyal friend to those who seem decent, and would gladly put his life on the line for those who need it. His failure at the hands of the Technic League has given him a sense of purpose, and he never takes work lightly.
Geirmur has reddish-brown hair, cut short, roughly by knife if necessary, and a large mustache that often hides his mouth. His skin is tan from working in the sun, and heavily freckled. Geirmur has a tall, lean build, with muscle built from years of hard farm labor. He dresses practically for the terrain and weather, usually keeping to neutral browns. Geirmur is about 6 ft tall, weighs around 190 lbs, and is in his mid 30s.

Background:
Geirmur began his combat career as a soldier in the Cavalry, but defected and returned to his home region where he joined a ragtag militia force. The next few years of his life were dedicated to protecting the local settlements from monsters and bandits alike. When the Technic League expanded into the area to investigate local iron ruins, Geirmur led an attempt to rescue slaves kidnapped from nearby villages. Unfortunately, the ragtag militia stood no chance against the superior armaments of the Technic League, and Geirmur's compatriots were slaughtered. He survived with heavy wounds, but awoke as a slave of the Technic League. His specialty with firearms has made him a valuable slave, which he uses to keep his life and bide time to plan an escape.

10mins backstory::

Five things about his background
1. From a young age, both Geirmur's parents taught him the value and techniques of fighting. Because of this, fighting is the lens Geirmur sees the world through.
2. Though his mother was Kellid, Geirmur was still often considered a foreigner in his town as a child. Rather than be discouraged, he sought opportunities to 'earn his keep', and became well-liked in his hometown.
3. Geirmur joined the Cavalry for the thrill of combat and to feel like he had a greater purpose.
4. Geirmur left the Cavalry with a small group of others from his region, and returned to his homelands. The group gathered up willing volunteers from the area and formed a militia to protect the region from bandits and monsters.
5. The loss of his companions at the hands of the Technic League has left him with a deeper sense of comradery for those who fight with him than ever before.

Two Secrets (one known, one unknown)
1. Geirmur returned from Hajoth Hakados because while on duty, in the confusion of an assault at night, he shot a woman holding her child, thinking they were the target. He was officially cleared under the circumstances, but he left shortly after.
2. Geirmur's father fled his homelands after he killed his brother in a dispute over the succession of the family line. His disappearance has left his family broken, and it is his greatest shame.

Three People (2 friends, 1 enemy)
1. Danesk, a kellid soldier and Geirmur's brother-at-arms. They've known each other since Geirmur joined the cavalry, and were fast friends. He was part of the group that returned.
2. Quintius Porcinius, a Taldan merchant he met in Hakoth Hakados. The two shared many drinks and stories, and still exchanged letters until Geirmur was enslaved
3. Nannet, a kellid woman who has sought Geirmur's affection since they were both children. Her unnerving behavior and dark curiosities have led Geirmur to continuously reject her advances, and she has become increasingly spiteful towards him.

Three Memories
1. The first time he was shot. Geirmur remembers the pain, and the cold of blood leaving his body. He uses these feelings to push through pain and foul conditions.
2. A night of passion spent with Nannet in their youth. The beginning of a relationship with Nannet, and one of his biggest regrets.
3. The night after his first real skirmish in the cavalry. The night was filled with celebration, and the men he was with then Geirmur still considers his brothers.
