Clinger, aventurine dragonfly |

The manufacturers of Divinity were the Androffans. They were not very different from other humanoids, like you, My Lady. My diagnostics indicate that your anatomy is very similar to Androffan human anatomy, with minor cosmetic variations, such as elongated and pointed ears, and a somewhat more slender structure. You also have twice the rods and cones in your eyeballs. But I digress! The Androffan humans were an industrious and adventurous race, My Lady. Pioneers in constructing wormholes to traverse inconceivably vast voids of space, the Androffans are a credit to humanity wherever it thrives!

Lady Zal -Azra Qlin-Zra |

For the 1st time she looks shocked.
The voids of space!!!, but that's.. that's impossible!!. The void is full of chaotic madness and danger!. All tails of travel in it tell of..aaaaarr now I see, these Androffan's humanoids, master builders they may be, foolishly attempted such a feat of navigation by means of this worm's hole. A void worm I would suspect, that would explain the disaster that befell them, foolish but still they made such things.
"I see, so tell more of the cones and rods you talked of, are they needed for some form of bored game..."
Goes on talking to Clinger and asking it Questions.
Gm could I have it that Lady Zal would be just asking loads of questions of Clinger as the move along. Pumping it for every bit of intel. This would explain her high skill levels later, and also lets you pop in the odd hint from what its said. With out the need for a mass of Q and A about background stuff in game play. I think it will help move things along.

Sure, sounds good.
Clinger and Lady Zal-Azra begin an ongoing dialogue that often takes comedic turns, bumps into conceptual barriers, and leads to many awe-inspiring revelations for the young elf. This goes on as the adventurers are exploring the Silver Turret....

Clinger, aventurine dragonfly |

Clinger buzzes over to Nalket and examines the collar around her neck.
I'm sorry, but I lack the proper appendages for that task. It appears that a green e-pick will be required to unlock this collar safely. Perhaps we can find one in this section of Divinity? Green is a rather high level of security.... but it would not be entirely surprising to find a green or better e-pick somewhere in this section....

Geirmur Breeland |

Geirmur's eyes will gleam at the mention of unlocking the collars. He pulls close to Zal and Clinger and lowers his voice.
"I say we make locating one of these 'e-picks' one of our main priorities, then. Though we may best wait our time to make our escape either way."

Clinger, aventurine dragonfly |

Hmmm.... Well, some of the elements of the periodic table are required for proper human nutrition, such as sodium and calcium.... But I suspect that I might not have made myself entirely clear.... The somewhat amusing and ironic conversation continues as the adventurers position themselves to open the portside airlock door....
Beyond, they find an airlock identical to the one through which they entered the Silver Turret, except the door to the outside is sealed. The adventurers then prepare to open the door leading into the waiting area to the south....

Michael Johnson 66 |

Within is another waiting area with a round table and eight surrounding high-backed chairs, plus a door leading into another area, and two more planters filled with patches of russet mold, fortunately inert due to the sunlight pouring in through another great viewing port that shows a view of mostly blue sky and clouds, as the Turret is tilted at such an angle....
There are inhabitants....

Saissha |

Saissha beams at the conversation,
Finally, a lead on how to escape...
"What a useful little critter you are."
As they open the door into the waiting area Saissha sighs,
"I really hope these are the last of them..."
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Zed Nexus |

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Zed looks on as the door opens and his face remains blank as the disgusting creatures threaten them.

The aventurine dragonfly dips in a midair bow at Saissha.
Thank you, My Lady!
As the airlock door to the waiting room is opened, revealing more vegepygmies, Clinger emits a series of high-pitched warning beeps!
Vegepygmies!
Initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Lady Zal -Azra Qlin-Zra |

Init 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Dives for cover,
"Clinger, come here at once, get under cover or the Vegepygmies will kill us and put you back into that locker!!"
Once behind something she gets her cross bow out.

Vegepygmy warrior |

Round 1:
The remaining 8 vegepygmies advance in phalanx formation, spears lowered to impale their targets!
Vs Geirmur 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10, a miss....
Vs Geirmur 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5, a miss....
Vs the ox 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 for 1d6 ⇒ 3 piercing.... MOOOOO!!!
Vs Maagun 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9, a miss....
Vs Maagun 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, a clumsy miss....
Vs Gnaarrg 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 for 1d6 ⇒ 5 piercing....
Vs Zed 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8, a miss....
Vs Saissha 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, a miss....

Vegepygmy warrior |

Nalket stabs out with her longspear past the forward line.
[dice=Nalket: Longspear attack]1d20 (includes -4 for attacking past soft cover)
[dice=Longspear damage]1d8+1
Nalket stabs one of the monsters, but her longspear doesn't seem to hurt it as much as Zed's morningstar, Sasshia's waves, Geirmur's musket balls, or Gnaarrg's fire.... It takes 1 piercing after DR....

Gnaarrg |

Having been caught off guard by the attack and injured, Gnaarrg retaliates by throwing a bomb at the center target of the cluster of enemies before moving out of sight to take cover.
Bomb's Away!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Fire damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
5 points of splash damage to every enemy adjacent to the primary target.
Where did I put that healing potion?!

[dice=Bomb's Away!]1d20+5
[dice=Fire damage]1d6+4
5 points of splash damage to every enemy adjacent to the primary target.Where did I put that healing potion?!
The three vegepygmies in the middle of the line hiss and shriek as they erupt in alchemical flames before falling to the floor and blackening....
4 still standing....

Zed Nexus |

Zed rushes forward and swings his morningstar into one of the creatures.
Morningstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Michael Johnson 66 |

Nalket posts her longspear briefly and with a murmured prayer to her ancestors, she lays a hand firmly on Gnaarrg.
[dice=Cure light wounds]1d8+1
The spear wound on Gnaarrg's shoulder becomes a faint scar, and the pain subsides completely....

Zophal, Technic League Captain |

As the fleeing vegepygmies scramble out of the airlock door and out of the crater, the Technic League handlers watch with hands on the hilts of their weapons, ready to finish the routed stragglers off should they try to approach the slave wagon....
I see they have stirred up some vegepygmies.... Primitive brutes with no appreciation for the high arts of the Androffans.... Hopefully our miners have found some valuable objects to make this expedition worthwhile....

Zed Nexus |

As the creatures flee, Zed moves into the room, uttering a spell. He blasts each of the mold planters with small globes of acid.
Zed casts Acid Splash onto each the the mold patches.
Once finished he begins looking around the room.

On the table in this waiting room are a silver dagger with an aquamarine pommel, a pile of 46 silver pieces and 18 gold pieces, and a sleek black object the size of a book with a glass or crystal pane on top.
