I know it uses however this is something that is once done cannot be undone, as such my choice in patronage must be precise. Alas my knowledge is not the best however for I have learned from only one book which is a rather common if good as these things go. If you do not want to involve the time of the diabolists time in this endevour though I have an alternative, within the library where I work there is a room where some of the better grimoires concerning diabolism are kept. Since I am not a senior librarian I cannot go into the room to read said grimoiries, however if the Smoke Knights don't possess pull within the House of Tevineg then I will be in shock. And such a request is fairly minor in nature, this is not calling out a hit on say a Nomarch...

I am sure as a member of House of Tevineg you are aware of our relationship. I think you misunderstand my intentions with the use of your contract, but if information is what you seek we might be able to secure access to a few select tomes, if you think we can come and go where we please brazenly I think you mistake us for someone else. I am not sure what you wish to know, but I will give you a week's worth of studying Devils. You can take 20 on 7 rolls of Knowledge Religion and Knowledge Planes as you study the tomes. I will give you information about devils from your results as well as answer questions to the best of my ability to provide you with the information you seek.

The Primarch's feast is now at an end. The envoy from Tian Xia is one of the last to leave and Absalom welcomed a new faction from the continent across the world ,Xa Hoi, and construction for a new faction house for the ambassador of Xa Hoi is underway in the Ivy District. Much to everyone's surprise, The House Avenstar's Scion did not name a successor, leaving the fate of the House a mystery. House Tevineg took the cup in the Joust, and House Damaq took first in the Archery contest. The Primarch announced a reduction of annual taxes to the cheer of most of Absalom, he gave credit to Master Gyasi for this generosity, the Ambassador from Xa Hoi. Rumor is that Master Gyasi is blessed by a water Kami, which accounts for his blue appearance. House Ahnkamen, Damaq and Shamyyid believe him to be of Marid descent and regard him highly. House Ormuz rejects this belief though they seem neutral to the new ambassador. The Lantern Lodge of the Pathfinder Society is currently housing the Ambassador until the Xa Hoi house is built.

So, you are now trained enough to go back in the field alone. I want you all to scout the docks for a fresh shipment ripe for the taking. Find out as much as you can about the shipment and who owns it then return to me. Do not let your intentions be known, use stealth and trickery, but do not make a move on the goods until I give the go ahead. Any questions?
Corvus SKA
Corvus stifles the initial desire to work alone. 'An ally at this stage is never a bad thing,' she muses as she casts her eyes around the room.
"Gerrick, we made a pretty decent team last time around. Care to work together? I can show you some more concealment techniques if you'd like?" Corvus smiles broadly at the bowman.
Sarvin of House Morilla
Sarvin looks around, sizing up the group and attempting to find himself some teammates. Of course, that process is more looking at the others, twiddling his thumbs, looking contemplative, and starting, then stopping, movement as people are approached to join into teams.
Milax "The Black"
This time you should all work together, I will not be there. There are many dangers on the docks, it is a highly contested area. Of course some of you are better at doing certain things so play to your strengths. Remember the Code of Fire, the brutality we displayed at the Eastgate was a rarity, though sometimes required. Milax says with almost a hint of regret.
Noro Kas
Noro only rolls her eyes at the brutalitty comment. what brutality? I'm not seeing it
anyway I live down in the docks dishtrict I can check with shome of my contactsh down there. I alsho did part time work ash a deck hand on the piersh loading and unloading ships

"Gerrick, we made a pretty decent team last time around. Care to work together? I can show you some more concealment techniques if you'd like?" Corvus smiles broadly at the bowman.
Work together, with me? Not exactly the type of woman I would have associated with just a few months ago but times have changed. Gerrik, I do believe that you should take advantage of the particular set of skills this one possesses.
Corvus, I must admit that learning a trick or two from you would be quite helpful. My hand-to-hand skills are not my strong suit. Gerrik runs his hand over the new composite longbow that he had purchased with his new-found wealth. I do believe that some of the cloak-and-dagger talent you provide will come in handy.
Corvus SKA
Corvus wrinkles her nose at Gerrick. "Cloak and dagger? You make being a wet-boy sound so sordid. It's clinical and all about precision and planning. Stick with me and you might learn something."
Despite the admonishment, her voice doesn't sound cross - more amused at his take on her profession.
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Aeadon had shown up atop a sandy colored camel, a common sight in Absalom but not so common among the humble or rather poorer sort. Flanked by two massive and impressive dogs. One was long haired and silver, the other had short hair on his lean body colored black with parts in golden brown. Dismounting Aeadon made his way to the others in time to listen in on what their new assignment was.
"Greetings everyone."
Information was a sort of specialty with him. He wondered if he had heard anything recently that they could start with. The nobles may not visit the dock but they had interest in it, as did many less proper types sharing more in common with the lower class.

Jiri will blink in surprise as Aeadon rides up and asks curiously, "Wow. Nice camel... and dogs. Are you planning a trip?"
He'll rack his brain trying to remember anything he may have heard,
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
To Agreal, "So, do you have any ideas on where we might find a loose cargo?"
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Aeadon smiles as he recalls some very good information. Before he can speak Jiri points out his newest acquisitions.
"I got tired of waiting and paying to get around. It will not only make movement easier but less costly in the long run, not to mention I can add deliveries now to my business. As for the dogs, well having a little loyal protection for myself and my property never hurts."
He waves his hand at it all.
"Anyways that is not important I happen to remember some things of interest to our job. There are two that stand out. The first the nobles of House Yui, a new minor noble house from Tian Xia have recently brought in a large shipment of unknown origins that is kept under relatively loose guard. The second is about a dwarven salt-beard Captain KnotBeard has recently gone missing right before he was supposed to set out to the Mana Wastes by way of Nex and the Ecanus river with a shipment of rare metals and ore. The items are being kept in a sub-standard warehouse hoping to be loaded soon supposedly. I suggest we go check both out to see which is better to choose, or if both can be done. With the current information if I had to pick one job it would be the shipment of rare metals and ore, with that one we know what we are getting after all."
He lets the information sink it to see how it was received.

Sarvin spends a bit of time getting himself in what the locals on the dock wear (or at least something more appropriate to being close to the sea). He starts to try and gather bits of information by listening and just wandering a bit.
Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Seeing that his listening is going nowhere, he's going to try and find someone a bit drunk. He's going to try and use the fear he is naturally talented with, to gain some information on who the big dogs in the area are and what some of the big shipments that'll be coming in. If asked why, he wants some work.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Corvus SKA
Gerrik can't help but share a smile with the assassin. Very well Corvus. What's our first move?
"There are only so many ways to find out information. Loosen it from someone with drink or money is always a good one - so we could hit the taverns in and around the docks. Or we could stake-out the vessels, see what we can see. Which do you prefer?"
Jiri

Jiri raises an eyebrow, impressed,"I'd heard about Captain Knotbeard but not the other. You've got some good contacts. If you don't mind us tagging along we should probably check out both. The Smoke Knights probably have the resources to handle both jobs if they're worth the trouble."
Gerrik Lovejoy
Whichever is the more effective. With your talent for being hidden perhaps we could take a look around the docks and see what we might discover that way. Gerrik says to his new partner. Anyway, I need to learn about this type of stuff if I'm going to be helpful to you.
The archer then says, Maybe this new faction, Xa Hoi or whatever, they might have a few boats coming in. It's as good a lead as I know of.
Aeadon of House Ormuz
"Sure. It's your lead, we're just here to help. What have you got in mind?"
Aeadon thinks for a moment.
"I suppose we could simply visit the area the warehouse is in then once we have a feel for the place choose a course of action from there. A little scouting for information as it were."
Aeadon of House Ormuz
"I would rather we stay together until we get there. The docks are an unpredictable place. Once there we can see which is the best approach. If we are lucky it will be in a secluded area with only a handful of guards. Then again it could be a vastly different landscape to deal with. If we have a general idea then we can plan out the actions of each of us playing to our specialties to optimize our efforts and success. That is my view anyways."
Noro Kas
i wonder if anyone even read noro's post....oh well what ever noro will go about her business to accomplish the mission
Hate to go back. But does noro know anything about the docks and what is going on considering she lives there and works rhere and has old aquaintenances that are dock workers
Noro would persue that since the rest decided to ignore her input

She grabs a chair and takes a seat, props her legs up on the table and takes a swig of the drink.
Jiri approaches with his question well, got nothing better to do, might ash well. sho, which warehoushes are we talking about?

Maybe do a walk by then ask around, discreetly."

I was a bit confused as well, I didn't know if we were all going together, going in teams, or something of a combo. Of course, I've been a bit limited in reaching the boards this week so I've just been trying to keep up with all the posts. If the correct assumption is to go as a group and then perhaps break up into groups, that's good by me.
Hmm, metals and ore? As long as we are careful about selling that off that would be fine. In a big place like this it shouldn't be hard to do.
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Aeadon was never invited to a team so he is not picky about who comes with him. The more the better as he does not know what he will be dealing with. Btw Noro your post was not ignored, Aeadon just has his own information to go on. ;)
Edit- We were given the assignment as a group, or so was my impression from the post. The team thing was player suggested the way I read it.
