Aeadon of House Ormuz
Aeadon steps forward.
"I happen to know Celestial, Osiriani, Elven, Draconic, Sylvan, Dwarven, and Infernal. I also have extensive knowledge of many subjects concerning many lands that could aid with the cover of dignitary."
It was his chance to be useful and it was a role he could put his skills to work with.
Noro Kas
Dang, previous versions of Noro she spoke Tien, but she is half Tien desent so she does at least look Tien (somewhat). She would probably know a few phrases from her father (the Tien half) just not enough to pull off a conversation
Listening to what was required to be done she smiled at the idea of bonking a few heads of local guards.
then it seemed most everyone was at aloss for this foriegner thing.
na Tao cong ti fei ne she says if a rough Tien accent.
Noro does have a slight Tien look showing tell tale signs of Tien in her blood
Noro has no idea what she said she just remembers her father always saying that to her when she got into trouble as a kid.
Sarvin of House Morilla
Sarvin pushes a stray hair out from in front of his eye, tying it out of the way.
"I can be quite intimidating, when need be. In fact, it's one of my few talents." The tiefling grins. "I know I can keep an eye out, but there's no way I can be too nice in persuasion."
He stretches his arms and prepares for a long day.
Jiri
"Noro would be perfect. She has the right look to be a Tien noble woman and I can play the Varisian foreigner she's hired to translate for her. If she were dressed the part she could hold a fan in front of her mouth and murmur something indecipherable and I can relate whatever script we've agreed on before hand." Jiri glances at Noro and adds, "And if things go sideways she can kick their collective ass while I run away screaming hysterically."
Milax "The Black"
So, Noro and Jiri will be my two to lure some sentries away. Who are the two that want to lay in wait? The rest will be coming with me. Milax says casually as she licks her hands and runs her clawed fingers through her black hair. She seems to pause for a moment and her ears perk up.
Milax "The Black"
Shhhh, the guest outside is not ours I assure you. Milax says answering Aqreal. Milax sniffs the air.
Ogrekin, from the precipice. They do slave runs for the market. It would be worth keeping tabs on them, this is a unique opportunity. I can not go so I need to send one of you. Aeadon, your language abilities will be usefull to pick up information they might share. The Ogrekins from the precipice speak a broken mix of Osiriani and Giant. Wait for my signal, then go follow them. I need to know all information you can give me on them. Find me at the Crimson coin when you are finished, make sure you are not followed though.
Milax climbs to the top of the stairs and cracks the door ever so slightly to peer outside. She opens it only enough for Aeadon to squeeze through and waves him up. As he squeezes through she drops a potion in his pocket
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Aeadon keeps mostly silent, then when he is picked for another assignment on the spur of the moment his mind begins to race. Before he knows what is going on he nodded and was through the door following the ogrekin. Trying his best to keep silent and unnoticed, he replaced one of his daggers with the item he had been given in his wrist sheath.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Milax "The Black"
Milax turns to the others Ok lets get moving. Noro and Jiri you know your roles. Gerrik and Corvus you will wait to ambush the sentries when they pass by. I will show you where to set up. Everyone else prepare to move as fast and quiet as possible.
Corvus SKA
Corvus smiles at Gerrick. "Keep it simple and get as close as you can for the kill. It's best to take them from behind, and we should synchonise the act if at all possible."
Corvus relays this information imappssively - as if killing was second nature to her (which of course it is).
"If you want I can suggest the best place to place a knife for a quick kill." Realising after the words were out of her mouth that this might sound patronising, she quickly added, "But only if it would help." She smiles warmly as soon as she finishes the final words.
Corvus SKA
Corvus, using her training, shows Gerrick the best places to place a knife for both a quick death and the minimum of blood. "Don't forget we need the uniforms, so as little scarlet as possible."
She grins and has a thought. I wonder if I brought any fast-acting poisons with me. Then just a nick will be enough.
Alchemy to see if I have something useful to hand: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Corvus finds a useful potion - not instant but acts within 30 seconds. She pulls a couple of needles out of her backpack. "We can lace these with a poison I have here. Just a prick in any part of the flesh and they'll drop within a minute and won't even know they've been poisoned. What do you think Gerrick?"
Milax "The Black"
Milax smiles playfully Oh yes, I had almost forgotten
Milax comes down from the stairs and faces the south wall. She scratches an upside down pentagram into the wall and whispers. The wall fades away and reveals another 10'x10' room. Equipment of all sorts is in this room: clothing, weapons, writing utensils, various tools.
This is one of our safe-houses within Absalom. Once you have risen in the ranks you will have access to this room on your own. For now a Knight-Captain must be present to open it for you. At this time find anything you think you will need, but I caution you to travel light. Be aware that all these items are accounted for, should you decide to attempt to sell them to others.
Any BASIC equipment from the Core Role Book can be found here, with the following caveats Only Rogue Weapons, Only Light Armor. There is a Tien costume available as well as others. When using the items in here for disguise you receive a +5 circumstance bonus.
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Unsure what to do for a moment, his mind works through the given information. The ogrekin were not in charge, they had a kidnapped victim and slave. They used a magical gate that likely lead to the flesh markets. Their was simply the chance that it could lead to a lair, then again it could lead to an area of little notice. If it lead to their base then it would be far to easy for the guards to find and strike at them. It would be smarter to have it lead to an area at least some distance from their base. It was a gamble but he chose to go through before it closed, he hoped he was right as he went crossbow in hand.
Noro Kas
Noro moves toward the supplies checking things out.
finding the Tien outfit.
Great, I haven't worn one of theshe shince I was little, my brother would teashe me endlesshly when I wore it.
grabbing the outfit Noro puts it on over her leather armor. trying to adjust the cords and ribbons it is obvious she is no lady, and definately not used to dressing up.
she finally looks somewhat decent but she still refuses to put on the shoes.
disguise: 1d20 - 1 + 5 ⇒ (7) - 1 + 5 = 11
Jiri
Jiri will take a spring loaded wrist sheath for himself.
"Is it O.K. if I make a couple of adjustments Noro?"
disguise: 1d20 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 5 = 23
He looks a bit nonplused at her bare feat, "Would slippers be O.K.? I doubt any upper class Tian lady would be wandering the city in bare feet. Oh, and a fan. I doubt if anyone will be able to speak Tian let alone read lips, but why take the chance?"
He'll also take the time to alter his own appearance.
disguise: 1d20 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 5 = 22
Noro Kas
Noro remains reluctant on the shoes but after much deliberations she finally agrees to some slippers. though she definately is uncomfortable.
How am I shuppose to fight in thish get up? I can barely move she says squirming in the dress trying to get a feel for it. but perhaps its her armor she is wearing underneath that is causing a bit of the tightness.
when the fan is offered she snatches it oh alright!
she flips it open and tries to strike a pose well, am I girly enough for ya?
she sneers to anyone that snickers and they get solid punch to the arm.
Gerrik Lovejoy
Gerrik will grab a light crossbow and some bolts since I just now realized as a level 0 character I am not "proficient" in longbow yet. and a light mace. He'll also take a spring-loaded sheath for his dagger. He will switch to studded leather armor also.
Nimon
|
The Warrior is proficient with martial weapons, I had mentioned that before. People went Expert for the skills presumably so it is a give and take.
Jiri was able to assist Noro bringing her disguise up to a 13.Since Noro has tien in her background and has worn these cloths in the past I will add the +5 modifier from the book making her a Grand Total of 18. Circumstance and GM fiat bonuses will come in for good roleplay/situations
Ok, everyone else come with me. Jiri, Noro, Gerrik and Corvus we will find you after the ambush. Milax peeks out the door and leaves again, taking the others with her.

Corvus SKA
Corvus sees Gerrick is allowing her to take the lead, so she looks for two suitable places to hide.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Who gets the first spot 1-3 Corvus, 4-6 Gerrick: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Corvus takes the first place she identified and points Gerrick in the direction of the second.
Jiri
"So we're supposed to approach the sentries and insist that they help us get back to the coins and protect you from the rough neighborhood." Jiri rubs his hands nervously. "I'll do my best. If you think I'm going wrong give me a shove and act all angry imperious and shit. Are you ready for this?"
Noro Kas
Noro looks to Jiri.
Yea, you protect me from the rough neighborhood, more like the other way around. no matter, letsh go.
Noro Kas
"O.K. If we run into any trouble, I'll hold them down and you beat them to death with your purse."
Noro whacks Jiri with her "purse"
Sarvin of House Morilla
The tiefling quickly creeps along, internally berating himself for the lack of focus and talent in sneaking.
Stopping at the motion as the catfolk sees her mark, the tiefling observes and then means quickly to get into the adjacent alley without notice.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Aeadon of House Ormuz
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Very relieved he was not spotted by the ogrekin, slightly less so by the victim who was quickly knocked out. Still he calls upon what he knows of where he is in more detail while following the ogrekin as unnoticeable as he could manage.
