....After you sign your name and offer your small drop of blood to the page, a duplicate of the contract appears. "One for you, and one for me." Horner says with a sly grin. "You are now Knight-Errants. I shall introduce you to your Knight-Captain. You may come down now Milax." Horner says as he looks up.

Dropping down from a stack of supplies in the storage room under the Crimson Coin, Milax lands on her feet, as she always does.

"Purrfect. I look forward to working with you all. You may call me Milax, or Lady Black, which ever you purrfer." The dark furred female Catfolk introduces herself with a graceful bow.

You all start with 3/3 Hero Points. At the end of every chapter(which is when you level-aprox every 3-4 encounters) I will award Hero Points for the following- Best Roleplayer, Best Use of a Hero Point, and MVP(this category is chosen by the players, you can not vote for yourself and can be based on any criteria you see fit.)
Please do not post here until I have done your final audit in the Discussion Tab.

Agreal nods at Horner and takes up the contract placing it within his backpack.

"Pleasure to sign... Who's Mi"

Seeing the woman drop down from the supplies Agreal actually takes a step back and almost readies himself to fight before he hears her words. Continuing, but slightly flustered due to being snuck up on.

"What is you bidding Milax?"

I have never seen a cat person before. I wonder if they are part of the great mother's plan?

"Bidding eh? Hmm I like you young one. I bid you cooperate with your new found friends and make me some money" There is a fiendish quality to Milax's grin, yet playful.

"Lady Black then. What happens now?" Jiri asks sucking on his bleeding finger.

Torry grins at the catlady to hide his nervousness. Too late to go back now, so he needs to make this work."Money's always good. When do we start?"

"I will let Milax cover the rest. I probably will not see you for a while, and you certainly will not see me, unless I want you too."Horner says with a smile and walks out of the storage room.

"Now we get down to business my bartending friend. Oh! your first job! Isn't it exciting? I wish I could go back to my first job, it was so fun! Ok, ok. Lets see. For this job I need someone that is good talking to people, Someone that is good taking things without being noticed, Someone that is good finding things, someone that can pretend to be someone else, someone good with knots, Oh and a few people that know how to fight! So who can do what?"

Last post for the night, think about what position for this heist you want to take.
Someone good talking to people=High Cha and or Diplomacy/Intimidate/Bluff
Someone good taking things=High Dex and or Sleight of Hand/Stealth
Someone good at finding things= High Wis and or Perception/Sense Motive/Survival
Someone that can pretend to be someone else= High Cha and or Disguise/Bluff
Someone good with knots= High Dex and or Escape Artist/Profession Sailor/Climb
Few People that know how to fight= High Str/Dex/Con and or BaB 1, AC>15 or simply not falling into the other categories.

The grin on Torry's face only widens. "That second bit is right up my alley." He does wonder though about Milax's enthusiasm. Torry isn't sure if its faked and a disguise of her true nature or real. Nor is he sure which would be better.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

"Well, a bartender has to be good at dealing with people so I can be diplomatic if that's what your looking for."

Male Tiefling Expert 1/ Alchemist (grenadier) 2

Sarvin looks over the contract, wiping his thumb on his weathered jacket, as he absorbs entirely what he's signed. "Knight-errant, huh..."
The dark-skinned tiefling speaks to himself mostly and steps back, rolling up the contract and lowering his hand, switching grip from his hand to an almost knife pointed lizard tail that then puts the item into the bottom set of buckled pockets on his backpack.

Looking for a moment or two at his finger, he makes sure that it is smudged and no longer bleeding. "Shouldn't be too bad.."

It is the introduction of the cat lady that brings more than a straight face to the tiefling's stony persona. He actually smirks as he sees that the Smoke Knights are not quite so descriminatory as the majority of the city.

Clearing his throat, the young man speaks slowly but clearly. "I tend to have a good eye for finding things."

Maldrek signed the document

I believe that I can perform as a face, my ability to lie is sub par but like all who are allied with House Tevineg I carry a reputation and I know how to appeal to the avarice of others. However in truth my strength lies in the scholarly arts concerning the planes, arcana, religion and a few other things.

Female Human - Rogue 2/Aristocrat 1 - AC16 (T14, FF12) , In+8; P+5/+6 (Traps), F+0, R+7, W+2

Her patched clothes are perfectly tailored to hide her leathers but to the casual observer, she looks like any commoner. This far she's held back - the last to sign in blood and when others press forward to volunteer she once more moves back into the shadows.

As she waits, she appraises the others. She considers the rumour that the first job is always to see who can cut it and she makes a mental note who she would stick close to and who she'll keep clear of when the going gets tough. She considers their clothes, their weapons and their armour. She pays more attention to the quality and wear than the items themselves as they say more about the wearer. Are they unused and for show or worn out because they're not maintained. All these facts are gleaned in a matter of seconds as she looks her comrades up and down.

Finally she speaks, her usual crystal clear voice disguised enough to avoid letting on this soon her noble birth. "I have a knack of pretending I'm someone else." She lets the words fall and immediately steps backwards, seeking the shadows again.

Milax listens intently to each of you. "Sounds like I have a good group... better than last time at least, Talk amongst yourselves a bit and enjoy the Crimson Coin. I will meet you here tomorrow evening to begin our plan. Beware that Tomorrow marks the first day of the Purrrimarch's feast. Though there be plenty of marks here in town, the Guards will be on the look out and they promised to make example out of anyone they catch. "

You may do a job roll, similar to PFS, for the night. I will use the PFS chart to determine how much gold you make. As the campaign progresses this will turn into using the full downtime system in the Ultimate Campaign Guide, but I need to tailor it a bit more to fit this setting. Job Rolls include - Professions, Crafts, Performance,*Certain traits open up other possibilities such as Fence.

As Milax departed Maldrek began muttering in infernal as he considered which archdevil would be most suitable for a pact or should he examine the list of Infernal lords contained within the Lessons of Thrune? Hmm... difficult and once the deal was struck no going back.

Aeadon signed his contract, tucking his copy into his scroll box.

"I am Aeadon."

He gives a curt bow.

"Sadly my skills are lacking for this it seems. My talents lie in trap making, lore, and languages. If information is needed then I am sure I can be of use, baring that I am a passable shot."

Knowledge was his weapon of choice, forged documents on occasion as well.

He goes to get his drink with little more to add at the moment. The Smoke Knights were smart about everything they did. That was why they held such a position in Absalom. The contract had stated it after all, wealth was the goal and violence a tool of last resort.

Wow, a lot of posts, let me just get in here tonight.

Gerrik Lovejoy signs his name elegantly, even if the ink is his own blood. That should do. He takes his copy of the contract and put it away quickly. Making money is always a fine idea. I suppose I can be one of your fighters, though I may need to learn a trick or two when it comes to fisticuffs. He glances over to the woman that decked him, rubbing his chin and smirking. Ok in no specific order: Kits are ok, but I appreciate you letting me know first. Equipment from Core/APG/UC/UM is pretty fair game, if you want something from Ultimate Equipment let me know first.
As far as your book of House Thrune, it should have reference to Asmodeus, and a few others. As long as they are either in Gods and Magic or Inner Sea World Guide or Core than I am good with it. Yes, if you took a trait like fence you can roll for your Job using appraise as you move things for the Thieves. I put up a quick reference from the PFS guide for Day Jobs. You have to get at least a DC 5 to get 1 gold, if you do not than you were non-productive(we all need a break some days).

Primarch's Feast Knowledge Local DC 10:
You hear that this year the [b]House Avenstar might get a new Scion. Primarch Gixx is known for his innovation, he is the first Primarch to be known as the Spell Lord, rather than the Lord of the Fleet of Absalom. The Wise Quarter is swelling with those affiliated with House Gixx and it is no secret he is consolidating a power base. Each district does something a little different for the Primarch's feast, but in the Center of Absalom, in the Ascendant Court and Coins District this is the order of events. The first day of the feast there will be a parade. The second day will be the Joust and Games. The Third Day will be any announcements made by the District Nomarchs and Small Council Members. The Fourth Day is the main feast, fireworks, and a Speech from a member of the Grande Council(Not the Primarch) chosen by the other members to represent them. The Fifth Day The Primarch will give his speech on the state of affairs in Absalom and Golarion and make any decrees.

Well, so it has come to this, quite a sorry place for the likes of me. I can't believe I have to stoop so low nowadays. As they say, sometimes you have to hit bottom before you can ascend to the top.

Gerrik Lovejoy has the look of a man that once had a level of means but it it obvious that is no longer the case. His clothes seem to be of some quality but their worn condition shows with loose threads, wrinkles and stains. His shoes are also worn though they look as if some care has been taken to attempt to keep their former looks. His face, wearing a look of a man who feels he is above the station of the establishment, hasn't seen a good razor in at least a few days.

Lovejoy strides over to the bar and raises his hand at the barkeep. An ale would be good. He says without making eye contact, instead watching the scene before him in the Crimson Coin. How did I end up here?

Jiri winces slightly them motions Agreal closer whispering, "Keep your voice down. They're supposed to be a secret after all." Leaning back he's ask in a normal voice, "So, you're not much of a drinker I guess. You must be here for the fights, yeah? I can take bets up to 10gp. Odds are on the board there." Jiri waves vaguely in the direction of a chalkboard behind the bar. "If you want to make a larger bet I gotta call a super."

I'm taking some liberties with the settings (with the GM permission). The GM may need to make corrections! My impression was that the Smoke Knights are, if not a secret society, at least keep their meeting place secret?

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

He noticed the three newcomers as he took his kahve. A rat, brawler, and fallen dandy by the looks of them. This Agreal was going to get himself killed. He looked over at the giant he noticed earlier, likely the one to do the killing. Taking a breath he remembered his manners.

"Pardon my rudeness barkeep. I am Aeadon, I thank you for your quick service."

Noro swigs her ale and takes a gander at the board. a quick scan for her name to see the odds for or against her. or even if she in a match up she hasn't been notified of yet.

she sees her name just before being erased (her bout long over) Looksh like the odds are not in my favor thish night..

She raises her mug as though a toast but to nobody in particular. to a better fight tomorrow, if tomorrow ever comesh and she takes another swig of her ale.

The Smoke Knights are indeed a secret society, though I could see Aqreal being a bit naïve due to his background and new to the idea. Glad you are all getting to know each other I think this works out well.

Agreal looks over at Noro.

"You fight m'lady? May I just say I look forward to any future bouts you may have and I offer my full healing services to you for free."

Agreal looks back at Jiri and winks.

"Oh a secret, but is a secret that everybody knows still a secret? I'll quiet down on it if it's that important to you though."

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

Hmph, so don't tell me all of you are in the know about the said secret thing, huh? I didn't realize recruitment was so open. The Taldan glances at the others talking to the barkeep. My apologies. Gerrik Lovejoy is the name. Gerrik takes a look at the chalkboard and then at the bruised woman. You ever win? I'm not sure you oughta be fighting unless you do.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon's eyes scan the man called Gerrik.

"Pardon but you may want to consider your words. No one said anything about recruitment, seeking to join and being recruited are two different matters."

He sip's his drink. Hoping trouble was not coming due to loose tongues, they were giving away to much information.

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

Word of a secret organization reaching our ears is a sort of recruitment. Now whether or not you are of the proper material isn't for me to say. Garrik looks this man called Aeadon with a small smirk on his face. Sorry if my words alarm you.

Gerrik will take his drink and move to one of the tables with the viewing crystals, attempting to make out the fight being broadcast from his vantage point. Hmm, no coin to waste on such novelties now, good man. Just watch.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

Jiri takes a quick nervous look over his shoulder at the hulking bouncer and says with a nervous laugh, "Recruitment? Who said anything about recruitment? Gladiators are recruited at the arena." He leans in closer and whispers, "Would you please keep your voices down? Secrets can get you dead. You have any idea how long it takes to clean up after he gets going? All that blood..."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Seemed Gerrik did not know the way of things. Shaking his head slightly he took another sip, he had read ignorance was bliss once. He had not agreed with that statement, their was no bliss in unknowingly walking down a path of danger. It made things all the more bitter when one fell, if not for the injury then for finding one self as a fool. He mused if he was walking such a path himself. Alas was life, he could only do his best not to make it so. He sipped yet again.

Edit-Ninja'ed by the barkeep. Aw well keeping it as is. xP

Next fight on the board is;

Buford vs Peete

Buford 1.3
Peete 5.1

this is a randomly generated fight. I rolled d100 to generate the percentage chance of Buford winning and calculated decimal odds based on that. If anyone wants to bet I'll roll d100 again and pay out if you bet the right way.

Noro glances toward Agreal.

Thatsh a generoush offer conshidering you have no idea who I am.

when gerrik makes a comment on her fighting she just slowly turns and approaches him, when he turns to look - "POW" right in the kisser with a right hook.

you deshide if I win much

she then goes back to her stool to finishe her ale and order another one.

punch to Gerrik AC 16: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
damage (non-lethal): 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

I'll fix the timing.

Gerrik turns back to the woman fighter after watching the crystal for a few moments. So, do you win? Holy... Gerrik's face collides with the sucker punch, knocking the Taldan back on his heels. He tries to catch himself on a nearby chair but stumbles in his effort to do so and falls to the floor on one knee and an elbow.

Quickly (or at least he thinks it was quickly), Gerrik stands back up and straightens himself while looking around the Crimson Coin. Rubbing his face, he stares at the foul female brawler that punched him. Hearing her verbal reply Lovejoy manages a chuckle. I obviously meant in a match, in there! Stupid broad. Gerrik looks at the woman cautiously. Well? Can you? Or are ya gonna wait until I turn my back and cold-cock me again?

Looking to the woman in red Gerrik smiles and winces from the pain. He then takes the ale that Jiri had placed on the bar for him, nodding his appreciation to the barman as he does. Addressing the woman, That's nice, lady. I prefer my women to be pretty... and less violent. The Taldan rolls his eyes toward Noro with the last comment. I'm guessing you find men to your taste fairly often in here.

Whoa, maybe that broad doesn't fight fair but that was quite a whallop! I should be more careful in places that have riff-raff like her about. Next time I might get a dagger to my throat instead. These people do not know your former stature, keep a low profile, dummy.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

Jiri flashes Agreal a wry grin, "They're both women and they're both tough! The one who just took a poke at Gerrik is Noro Kas, an up and coming gladiator in the arena. The one who likes her men bruised is Synthia "Blood Scythe". She represents the Red Mantis in fighting events all over Golarion."

"Great punch. After this next match you want to go outside and throw a couple? It would be great to learn from an actual gladiator."

Don't worry, I won't meddle with your girl anymore. Safer that way. I appreciate the offer, umm, Agreal was it? Gerrik tries to straighten the bow he was carrying over his shoulder. I hope I didn't damage it. I can't afford a new one.

Noro does have a short fuse and a comment about not winning much right on the heels of a loss was quite enough for her.

Noro does not press the issue any further. She merely nods to Synthia and returns to her drink. accepting her orders to not fight, albeit reluctantly.

Noro does not comment any further regarding her matches.

After a few sips of Ale, Noro pulls out a gold coin. she heads over to Gerrik. she looks almost ready punch him again but instead tosses the coin on his table.

Not wise. A voice says from behind Noro.
