Ok, everyone is here and checked in! We are ready to start, but because it is the holidays family comes first, so we will be going nice and slow until the 2nd of Jan or so while people are on vacation and such.

THE SILVERHEX CHRONICLES

You begin your adventure in Gralton, where the first step in Ulisha's Journal leads you. SLIDE 4 - HANDOUT 1

DC 10 Know(Local) or Diplomacy:

Laban Tullivar was a cruel man. Before dying, he boasted about the treasure to be entombed with him as well as about a magical trap that could be bypassed by “one who earns Tullivors’ thanks.”

For a small city, Gralton boasts an ostentatious cemetery, with the tombs of wealthy Galtan refugees evoking their lost glories. When you arrive you find that the gates are ajar and no guards are on duty.

DC 10 Know(Local) - DIFFERENT ROLL THAN ABOVE:

It is unusal for the gates to be open an no one on duty.

Go ahead and place your token(s) on SLIDE 5 at the top where it says 'enter here'. This is also a good time to introduce yourselves. Once that is completed, we will continue on.

Ne'erduwyl looks imperiously at her fellow Pathfinders, who she clearly thinks are beneath her. Disturbingly, a scorpion plays around her shoulders. There is something off about her. She's clearly half elf, but a more sinister race plays into her features too.

"A cemetery," she says. "What a perfect way to begin."

"I, er, once sold a load of barley to some merchants headed toward the River Kingsdom a whiler back," Hekran says while feeding a handful of corn to Gartempe, a pure white-plumed chicken. "Now rumor has it that this Lord Tullivor, he said that they was gonna bury 'im with a whole heap of treasure. And that there tomb of his gonna have a magic trap, which can only be overcame with, now what did they say? Right, than the trap is bypassed by 'one who earn's Tullivor's thanks', though I ain't clear on what that means."

Hekran's a man in his late twenties with a short brown beard and tanned skin with a floppy straw hat and peasants clothing.

"Now I reckon its mighty weird that this here cementary's has got its gates as wide open as a cleric of Lymneris's skirt and that there ain't a guard on duty.

"Oh, by the by, name's Hekran, Hekran Mesra. I'm a simple farmer, freeholding land in Andoran. North of Olfden, south of the River Foam." He holds out his hand in order to shake any takers.

When the good Pastor received notice of his assignment and received a copy of the letter, he began beating the bushes of all his sources of information. Unfortunately, his search didn’t prove fruitful as he couldn’t find any extra information.

Roland takes the man’s hand as he entered the cemetery. ”The name is Roland. Roland Aimane. Some people just call me Pastor. I make books,” he said with a smile, holding his large iron bound tome up for inspection. ”And I spread the good word of Nethys. Magic is life, you know,” he grinned.

The man himself was quite imposing, broad shoulders, bald head, wearing armor with a shield strapped to his back. He kept his tome in his right hand at almost all times, almost by force of habit it seemed.

Glok Longtongue is a young grippli, about 2`1`` with maybe 35 pounds. His skin is fiery red with golden dots and great golden eyes.
In private he wears well made green tunic and baggy pants, with a brown trim and a green cap with a pink feather.
But if he on a mission, he wears a well made explorers outfit consisting of a green cotton shirt, leather vest and soft boots and gloves of deerskin, together with a breastplate, a buckler showing Erastils holy symbol, a rapier and a few daggers.
His voice is a throaty croaking and he smells always a bit of fresh water.

Hearing some rumors Glok shrugs and speaks up."Was that human called Laban Tullivar a cruel man! Did I hear that he was entombed with his riches."

Diplomacy, gather information: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1

The half-orc is so odd that he can't convince anyone to even speak with him, let alone give him information on the city. "Armenian Man not know why. Why will you not talk to Armenian Man?" He simply bounded up, the ringing of unseen bells jingling at his approach, and stated his question simply. "Gralton. Cemetary. Tell me. Tell me what you know." They all just ran off, or sork of 'eeked' and slipped away.

"They said it might be this way. Armenian Man grow up very different. Others not know." He suddenly seems to notice that he's now arrived at the cemetary he was directed to, and probably speaking to himself again. There are others here. I guess I should have expected that.

He stands quietly, awkwardly, looking from one to the other as they all speak up.

That one's mean. His eyebrows lift in delight, though, at the sight of the scorpion. Pretty little bug!

Oh, wow. This guy is smart! I think he just knows all this stuff too! He looks at the gate when Hekran mentions it--the gate that he, The Armenian Man, had just walked through, the swivels his head back quickly, eyes wide. Observant, too! Didn't even notice that.

Hmmm. Pastor? Holy book? Devoted, must be.

When his eyes light on the grippli, he looks around and around frantically, as if he's looking for someone hidden. Little frog man! This must be another prank. Where they be. Pranking me. Unable to find his suspected tormenters, he returns his gaze and listens to the small creature. Me play along, then. You not faze me, fickle fey.

When there is a break in the conversation, he raises his hand lightly, and introduces himself. "Hi. Armenian Man"

As you make your way into the cemetery on your way to the tomb, you come across a body slumped over a small marble pedestal. Clearly dead, the young human male is dressed in a nobles outfit with his hands bound by rope.

Move the body off the pedestal:

Moving the corpse reveals the bust of Laban Tullivor atop the pedestal.

Stand in front and face the bust:

When you stand in front of the bust a Magic Mouth spell activates saying "When the last sun falls upon this spot, receive my thanks."

Perception dc 10:

When searching the body you notice that the belt buckle resembles a badger.

Know(Nobility) dc 15 TEST ONLY AFTER PASSING THE PERCEPTION TEST:

The badger is the Tullivor Sigil. The body is most likely Laban's heir, Northis Tulliver.

Heal dc15:

He was killed by a short sword or similar weapon, and bears scratches on his face.

Survival or Know(Nature) dc 15:

The scratches on the face are hawk talons.

The sun is just beginning to set. As far as being in a hurry, no, you have some time to investigate. Silverhex is a series of 6 "mini" scenarios that add up to tell a much larger story. One of the Pathfinder Quests, its first level only requirement is great, and because there is time between each quest, players fully heal/rest up. At a gaming con time would be of a bigger issue, but since this is PbP, well, not so much.

That being said, the riddle is failed at full night, so there is that...

Given that this is a cemetery that is regularly patrolled by guards and has frequent visitors, with all the footprints, you are unable to discern anything more than two sets of prints and that assailant(s) went south to the area marked on the map.... A matching set can be found near the gates as well.

As far as the Tullivor Mausoleum goes.....
This baroque marble tomb clamors for attention like a gaudy flag waving for a once noble house. Its most audacious feature is a sculpted badger that looms, gargoyle-like, above the door. The iron door is decorated not only with the Tullivor name and crest, but also with an elaborate arcane rune.

As the Mausoleum where the tracks lead....
This alabaster tomb evokes a past age of Galtan architecture, including a ten-foot spire atop a broad dome. Its awnings teem with sculpted white raptors. An iron gate bears the motto, “Last to Fall.”

The Sarvio mausoleum is a 15-by-15-foot tomb of superior masonry. Through the ironwork of its padlocked gate one can see that the tomb’s interior contains four sarcophagi but no valuables. On top of the building is a spire. Ne'erduwyl notices that the joint between it and the roof is rather weak.

At this point I need everyone to give me individual Perception checks as you continue to explore the area for clues and such.

Following the footprints Graktul stops in front of the Sarvio mausoleum and then looks at the handout from earlier.

Seems there was a little bit of a feud between these two...wonder where the chalice is now since our author took it with him.

Just curious guessing there isn't any symbols on any of the other mausoleums (including the Sarvio).

Hekran follows Graktul to the Sarvio mausoleum which is covered in stone raptors. I'm assuming like, eagles and birds of prey not velociraptors, right? With Pathfinder, you can never tell.

"You reckoned the boy was scratched up by a hawk right?" he jerks a thumb at the stone birds

He takes another look, walking around the Sarvio mausoleum.

First off, this is an invite only group, you weren't invited. Posting like you were, when you weren't invited, and just assuming you can get in, is just plain rude.

Asking, especially in the recruitment thread would have been more appropriate, and then you would have seen the posting that RECRUITMENT IS CLOSED.

Without boons only craft profession and perform.

Grand Lodge

03-01 Frostfur Captives

Per the field guide, page 3 - Craft, Perform, Profession only. Truthfully, you don't get much gold compared to what you get for completing a scenario, so, unless you have something that goes hand-in-hand with your class, having a day job is (generally) considered a waste of skill points in my opinion.

But, if you play a Bard (for example) you will put points in one or two Perform skills. Or an Alchemist will put points in Alchemy. Also note that some profession/craft skills do come up in the course of a scenario. For example, with my main PC I once used my Craft(Calligraphy) to create a fake document. Profession (Barrister) is used frequently in matters of law.

Basically, it depends on what you choose/want to to do.

You can always play scenarios at either slow or normal advancement speed. Slow speed means you only earn 1/2 xp instead of 1 xp. If you did that with the first two scenarios here, then you'd be at 2 xp total at the start of crypt of the everflame, like the rest of us.

There is honestly a couple of options that you can do.

1. Half Speed the first two scenarios. 1/2 speed means that you earn 1/2 xp (so 1 xp total for both), and 1/2 the gold. Its a "slow" progression. People do it to unlock more gear, and have more boons and such on their chron sheet.

2. Play all at normal speed. For Silverhex and MoFF this means nothing, but when you get to level 2 for Crypt, when completed you can't play it again at level 2.

3. Create a brand new character for these three scenarios.

The only reason I asked for new characters was for the ease of players and myself for setting up and running these three scenarios. Because, when completed, you will have a total of 5 xp, which is almost to level 3. Doing scenarios like this is a great way to easily speed up leveling. Feel free to do what you want, but let me know.

---This is a close to power leveling as you can get for Pathfinder.

First of all, apologies for not reading the recruitment thread right. Went back and you were pretty clear.

Interesting, so the evergreen scenarios are ones that you can play over and over again and still get credit for? But only if you play them at level 1?

And also: the Everflame scenario is longer and 3 xp?
