HP 7/7 | AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 12 | Fort +1, Ref +2, Will +1

Mogmuch's jaw falls and hangs open for a moment as he realizes he has finally encountered something that does NOT boom! Closing his mouth with a snap, he pauses a moment and thinks on his research into green and growing things.

Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Quickly doing a mental inventory of what he has along with him, he feels annoyed with himself that he didn't have any acid flasks prepared. Seriously? I had acid flasks on his lower level sheet... Grr.

Mog going to have to think creatively here... Poog need help, now!
Ok, I'm going to need some GM input on this, so if Plan A is not feasible, switch to Plan B.

Plan A
Mogmurch steps closer and draws a small vial of a yellowish super slippery fluid and loosens the stopper just a smidgen. "No dodging this one, Poog!" he shouts and then flings the vial at the grappled fire priest.
Ranged touch to throw salve like splash weapon? + range penalties: 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 2 - 2 = 22

Salve of Slipperiness:
This substance provides a +20 competence bonus on all Escape Artist checks and combat maneuver checks made to escape from a grapple. The salve also grants a +10 competence bonus to the wearer's Combat Maneuver Defense for the purpose of avoiding grapple attempts. In addition, such obstructions as webs (magical or otherwise) do not affect an anointed individual. Magic ropes and the like do not avail against this salve. If it is smeared on a floor or on steps, the area should be treated as a long-lasting grease spell. The salve requires 8 hours to wear off normally, or it can be wiped off with an alcohol solution (even wine).

Plan B:
Mog moves in on the other side of the vine creature as he draws his club and smacks the thing.
Club attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Suddenly, Poog is well-doused and... slippery. So slippery, in fact, that even he can't seem to find some sort of purchase or grip as he tries to get loose. And then there's that longshanks saying... pigs... poke... something -- can't be important, they don't speak Notbakinese.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh"Yeah, that's what pretty much anything that could vocalize would be doing and it's entirely likely the plant-thing is doing the same thing as well...

Escape Artist(Untrained, Slippery): 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (12) + 23 = 35

Put me where ever you think is clever, GM, it's not like Poog has any control over where he lands given his lubricated status. And it isn't his turn to move, is it?

+4 to Dex, -2 to Wis, +2 to Natural Armor. It says "It's a standard action to drink a mutagen." Does that mean I don't need to use a move action to draw it?
Also does Mog get any info on nasty vine from his knowledge roll?

Pretty sure you just drink the mutagen as a standard action.

So did Mog manage to move 20 ft, or just the 5 ft? Is the birdie-woman airborne or on the ground? The answers may alter how this goes down...

Things was getting sticky in the truffle field... Ooh, sticky! Yep, yep! Inspiration strikes Mogmurch and he draws a gooey little parcel and lobs it at the feathered foe.

Throw Tanglefoot Bag, mutagen dex boost: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 29

Tanglefoot Bag:

A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.

A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move (including flying) at half speed. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell. The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness. An application of universal solvent to a stuck creature dissolves the alchemical goo immediately.
