Seeing that Reta has the last Stirge and Chuffy has way more kills, he lets Reta take the last one. He was gonna pull out his hand crossbow and take it out himself, but that would be mean to his new hutwife.
Or is it cavewife? Chuffy can't tell with this new clan.
Chuffy casually hops posts and walks back to shore, even in the big boots.
Reta Biggbad |
Reta yell loud, stab bug.
Bug Die! Stupid bug not big problem for hero like Reta!
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
She miss. Dumb bug. Reta snarl. Grab rope holding bug, cut it. Then she take rope, sling bug around like morning star, start whacking it against the plank.
Die die die die die die die die die!! You big and dumb! You no make Reta look bad!
Strength Check, if that's the appropriate roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
CMB, if this is appropriate instead: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
I don't care about actually killing it or anything. I wanted to end this little thing with Reta showing some of her crazy anyway. Chuffy easily won.
Mogmurch Lord of Flames |
Doh I thought it was a race to the end not the most kills hehe /facepalm
Mogmurch slimps to the ground a bit tired as he begins to count his possessions one more time. Make sure nothing went missing and to look at his new items he 'aquired'.
Stupid birds
Reta Biggbad |
Reta stomp back to dry land, dragging bug-on a-rope behind her. Then she sit, eat nasty boot. Then she stand.
Chuffy big hero! Chuffy kill bugs! Reta not mad at Chuffy for winnin'!
Then, she give Chuffy big lick on face, bite tip of flappy ear off and chew.
Poog of Zaronge| |
Poog happy to kill some buggies. He no care if they no count. He showed power of fire for Zaronge| and that what matter!

Finally, for the last dare, Wise Mummy Sprattleharsh leads you chieftains-in-waiting back toward the Birdcruncher cave—as you approach, the stink of rotten meat and spoiled milk grows.
The scent comes from a horrific “pie” that’s been created in a 10-foot-diameter bowl-shaped depression in the rock—the bowl is only 18 inches deep, but filled with a nasty, not-quite-boiling-hot slurry of spoiled milk, mud, swamp water, mashed-up grass, and dead birds. The top is covered over with an incongruously delicious- and flakylooking pie crust. Several cauldrons of boiling pie filling sit nearby, along with a number of large, dented metal funnels.
Wise Mummy Sprattleharsh explains - "The giant birdmeat pie is still baking, and the chieftains-in-waiting will all be tied up and placed in the pie to cook!"
Curiously, there are also four golden eagles with clipped wings, but they’re very much alive and very angry at their predicament!
Each goblin is allowed to carry and wear all of his gear and equipment in this dare. The first goblin to make it out of the pie earns 10 points. The second goblin earns 5 points. The third earns 3 points. Any contestants after the third earn no points at all.
Killing an eagle earns that goblin a bonus of 5 points, so a goblin who stays in the pie and comes out last can still come out ahead in points if he kills enough eagles. With the rules explained, the contestants are lined up around the edge of the pie and have their wrists and ankles tied together.
Wise Mummy holds her last Thunderstone and looks at you to affirm readiness...
Last opportunity to buff etc
Chuffy Lickwound, The Rogue |
Wait, I'm confused. We're getting thrown in, but do we have to eat our way out? And try to kill an eagle? We won't be liable to drown, I'm assuming, but we have to get out of the pie? Are we placed in the center? Where are we going?
Poog of Zaronge| |
I'm equally confused. It's a 10-foot diameter pie, so we'd all be taking up the whole pie. The eagles would be right by us. Really not understanding this challenge.
If I had to guess, we're about to try to get out before we cooks to death. And Poog doesn't have endure elements??? Or resist energy??? *sigh* Goblins, eh?
GM Shifty |
Effectively EIGHT creatures are being wedged into four squares of 'pie' - it is going to be a very very unhappy place for the Goblins, and not only will it be a little suffocating, it will also be 'just a little hot'.
Basically you have two sets of bonds, feet and hands, and that will require at least two standard actions to get rid of (ie pass an Escape artist etc) whilst burning pie cooks you and peeved eagles try peck and claw you to death. You can try fight the eagles instead while grappled (and it will get a little worse in a minute). Getting out of the pie once freed is a Move action. You cannot move when grappled so you need to get rid of both sets of binding first.
So yeah, its a whloe lot of nasty
Poog of Zaronge| |
We shall see. Honestly, I'm now wishing I hadn't cast the spiritual weapon in the stirge swamp. Otherwise could cast it to cut my bindings and crawl out with ease! Oh well. On with the trial!
GM Shifty |
With that, Mummy tosses the final Thunderstone and you are unceremoniously shoved into the hole with a bunch of REALLY REALLY angry birds. The funnels are pushed in and a crust is thrown over the top - barely moments later a boiling slurry comes streaming in burning your Goblin bits like lava!
Initiative
Chuffy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Mogmurch 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Poog 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Reta 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
ENEMY 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
For the purposes of this “combat,” you can assume that no real movement is going on—the pie is only 10 feet across, so no matter where you are in the pie, they’re adjacent to any foes they might wish to attack. All of the contestants and all four eagles are treated as if they’re squeezing (–4 penalty on attack rolls, –4 penalty to AC) due to the cramped quarters.
Escaping Bonds: A goblin has the grappled condition as long as her hands and feet are tied. A successful DC 18 Strength check or DC 22 Escape Artist check is needed to break free of the bonds—both are standard actions to attempt. A free goblin can untie another goblin’s bonds automatically as a standard action.
The Pie: The pie filling is quite hot, and as the contents slosh out, the goblins add fresh boiling foulness to the pie via the dented funnels. Each round a creature remains in the pie, it must succeed at a DC 10 Fortitude save or take 1 point of fire damage. An eagle that dies of pie burns earns no one points.

Fort Save DC 10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
After a rough shove and being thrown into the pie, Chuffy struggles to get out of his binds. Escape Artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 His struggles are fruitless as he wiggles and squirms.
"Chuffy not like pie!!"
Mogmurch Lord of Flames |
Wow this sounds like a free everyone or wipe scenario lol
Fort save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Mogmurch somehow slides right out of his bonds. The soup like substance made him slippery enough that the ropes almost fell right off. Mogmurchs begins giggling quite vocally to himself as he remembers that he has explosives on him in a cooking pot.
Not sure if escaping was just a standard action of not but if so I would like to climb on top of the rim of the pot so next rounds I can hurl bombs at the eagles.

Poog sputters as the pie filling covers him with the horrible... HORRIBLE mixture!
