Guys I might not be able to post until tues so feel free to roleplay and rollplay me if I would be a hindrance to advancement. Well she's a scholar so she will act accordingly with the checks that she gets. She has a cure light wounds spell btw although it's only once per day. So use it upon your wise judgement.

Grimaldus goes down, but not out, which prevents the enemy advance.
The cornered Rogue obviously sees he is stuck in a bit of a predicament, Mandrak swung at him around a corner, and whilst the first blow missed, luck will run out, Yhen has mobbed his thoughts with images of depression and futility, and Kishara is looking to spit him with her rapier... he fights on, but it is clear he is fighting out of self preservation rather than bravery.
Fight Defensively.
Misfortune - Roll twice, take worst result.
1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6/1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 4 = 2/1d100 ⇒ 9
His lack of resolve leading to lack of outcome as Kishara easily parries his over cautious blow.
From the rear ranks, the unarmoured woman mumbles something from the mist, spraying a jet of acid at Kishara, 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 4 = 3 but clearly the swirling fog and confusion of battle proves too much for the fledgling Arcanists skill.
The acolyte calls to her deity whilst trying to defend herself with her blade, and with that, attempts to salve the wounds of the Halfling.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 - with immediate effect.
Shouty little man, encouraged by the salvation, swings his great axe at Aegon.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6/1d100 ⇒ 27 - but only manages to gouge the flagstones.

Ok,those options are rather lackluster so we'll go back to plan A...
Realizing that help cannot come until the way is cleared, Kishara gathers her resolve and prepares to vault over the mustachioed halfling. She passes over Grim's prone form, leaps into the air, performing a neat flip and lands on the east side of of the halfling. She stabs with her rapier at her quarry, hoping to at least draw his focus away from her disabled comrade. That should put Kish at K4
Acrobatics to avoid AoOs: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 = 14 Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 25
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 (dirty fighter)
How strange, I put (dirty fighter) next to +1 on the damage and it read it as roll another d6... =/

"You there, in the shadows, if you surrender we won't harm you."
Diplomacy with Patient Optimist trait bonus: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Before Grimaldus needs to make the choice to drink and provoke or not, I take a full attack action, swinging with a starknife and a kick at the barbarian.
Starknife: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 95
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Kick: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 2
Damage: 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Because I don't have Improved Unarmed, my kick provokes an attack of opportunity from the enemies surrounding me, despite its miserable failure as an attack :P.

Tikrit awaits an opening, watching the melee for a space to enter.
Aegon slices at the Halfling with his starknife, spilling blood as he does, and follows through with a poorly placed kick.
Rogue
1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 2 = 21/1d100 ⇒ 86>20 OR 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7/1d100 ⇒ 34>20

Acolyte
Attack 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 16/1d100 ⇒ 31>20

Barb
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18/1d100 ⇒ 53>20
Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
The rogue to his rear responds, but his misfortune impairs him completely, the Acolyte swipes only air... but the Barbarian times Aegons rash move perfectly - felling Aegon and dropping him to the pebbles - 14 Damage
Grimaldus manages to move during the fracas, and hauls himself to a safe spot.
Kishara makes her way into the gap, vaulting past the small barbarian and landing behind him before thrusting back with her rapier that scores a vicious hit, he surely cant take much more!
Tik & Mandrak up.
Aegon is presently 'helpless', so his square CAN be co-occupied.
Tikrit
|
Seeing an opening, Tikrit springs forward next to the roguish enemy and takes a swipe at him with his Katana.
Move in front of Mandrak, Katana vs. the one in the corner. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Confirmation roll 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Miss chance 1d100 ⇒ 85
Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Kishara

Not positive, but sounds like to me both Tikrit and Mandrak are moving to the same space and attacking the same enemy. Mandrak 5ft stepped so that would put him at H4, so for Tik to move ahead of him would put him at I4, but that would provoke an AOO from the rogue, I think. Also, Mandrak needs to roll for miss chance(1d100). I think Yhen comes next and then another volley of attacks from the bad guys, Aegon is -2hp currently, eep! O_O
Is it possible to Intimidate by sound alone? If so, my vote for Yhen's action would be to shout something into the mist about how the pathfinder's will hunt these people down if they murder agents of the society.

The above was a little out of order, so had to jiggle it a little to make sense.
1d100 ⇒ 66
The cursed Rogue in the corner just finds his luck going from bad to worse as the Tiefling lines him up and begins to rend him viciously, blood hitting the wall and the flagstones as the Rogue begins to bleed badly.
He tries to take on a strong and defensive posture, but is silenced as the Bird man runs him through neatly.
Yhen could try use something like intimidate, but dip/intim etc are at least a standard action, and she has some much better options...She only has a +4 intim, which on an average roll will simply make them shaken for one round.
Yhen grins as Grimaldus rallies himself and lays a warming hand upon him, refreshing him and returning him to the fight.
Cure Light Wounds - Grimaldus 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Returning a Fighter back to the melee is a stronger choice :p
The Barbarian turns on Kish and attempts to smash her out of the way...
(Kish, you can either execute an AOO and attempt to stop him, or let him move through as an over-run, if you try to stop him and fail, and he rolls well, you could end up knocked prone... choices choices!)
The arcanist screeches with laughter and tries to unleash another jet of acid at Kishara (Kish - if you let the Barbarian through you can make an AOO before THIS resolves as you might interrupt it - resolve the free attack or let me know if you forgo!)
The Acolyte now looks extremely concerned and attempts to run the Katana wielding Birdman through... 8 Damage
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22/1d100 ⇒ 64
Convert? 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 NO
Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Since Aegon is already down, and Tikrit just took a solid hit, I'm entering my move now for you to put in the right order. This would be my move regardless of Kish's AoO decision... :-)
Grimaldus feels warmth flow through his body and watches his wounds miraculously heal. "Many thanks, Yhen. You have surely saved me!" But he also hears the fight going not so well for his comrades, and so Grimaldus tactically advances back into battle to end this once and for all. Since Aegon is helpless I will move to his spot (I3) and attack the spellcaster in front of me.
"Yhen - see to Aegon if you can. His wounds must be tended and stabilized! And you, little sorceress, have caused enough mischief this night...'
Attack=1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Conceal=1d100 ⇒ 36>20 hits
Damage=2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
Kishara
|
As Aegon drops Kishara lets rip a desperate snarl befitting a true Wiscrani guttersnipe. The magic user gives away her intentions and Kishara lashes out in attempt to disrupt the spell. She lets the mad halfling escape, knowing better than to pen in a wounded animal. But she marks his visage well.
'Run while you can, filth. You'll pay for this yet. Oh yes!' she thinks to herself bitterly.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 74
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Yhen
|
I'm back.
Judging by what's going on I'm done for this round right?
"I've used up my healing spell, I'll see what I can do."
I can try and first aid but I only have a +1 heal and the DC is 15 so, or if someone needs a mage armor I can do that too or keep on giving misfortune to the person at K-3, she is the only one I can target for now though.
Kishara
|
See, I had expected that since Grim was conscious, he would drink his potion and Yhen could use her healing spell later on Aegon. =P
Ok, so the Rogue is now dead/helpless and that halfling barbar is now lining Kish up with that axe? O.o
GM Shifty
|
You could do it that way, but it isn't the best choice in action economy imo - and by then you could be down another player as well, and then things get dire. As it is, that Barbarian now has Grimmy tapping him on the helmet again and a Katana wielding feathered nasty to face off against... a half elf with a rapier is probably the lowest on his ladder of concerns. The rogue is dead as a doornail.
Kishara
|
Kishara's eyes narrow and she sneers as she notices the Halfling did not take her gracious opportunity to run for his life. Hoping to place the filth off balance, she feints to the left toward the loony spell caster and alters at the last moment, driving her rapier at the barbarian with vindictive force.
Feint: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 33 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Hmm, he may not live to make that mistake again... ^_^
Kishara
|
Ugh, ok... my mistake. I have a GM in RL that lets us exchange our move action for a standard action. Attacking was the ultimate objective. I'm just accustomed to that combo...
GM Shifty
|
Actually, as Tik had delayed, Kish would go before him now on the initiative order - in which case she will now have ganked the Halfling prior to them resolving.
Halfling down.
The acolyte and the injured caster remain, they also look quite mad and you suspect there is very little likelihood of talking 'reason' with them.
Grimaldus
|
Did Grimaldus turn that I wrote earlier happen yet? I moved to I3 and attacked the spellcaster in front of me.
Attack=1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Conceal=1d100 ⇒ 36 (>20 hits)
Damage=2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
Tanx!
Yhen
|
Round 3 or 4 I lost count.
"I curse thee to suffer the same fate as that wretched halfling! I don't care who sent you but you definitely need to have a very good reason for us to keep you alive!"
Yhen will move to H-3 and curse the person at K-3 with misfortune.
Tikrit
|
Looking heavily injured, Tikrit nevertheless fluffs up his feathers and continues to fight. With his Katana in both hands, the blade shimmers as it is infused with magic. He then steps forward next to Kishara. "Fear not, your Dragon is here to battle at your side!" he says, and with a mighty KIAAAAI!, slashes viciously at the Acolyte.
Swift action to use Arcane Pool to grant +1 Enhancement to Katana. 5ft forward and attack 2-handed. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Miss Chance 1d100 ⇒ 79
Confirm Crit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Aww...
Damage 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

R3 Recap
Yhen clw Grim.
Barbarian over runs Kish.
Arcanist fails to cast – gets stabbed.
Acolyte shanks Tirkrit.
Aegon bleeds...
Grimaldus runs back to the fight, swings but misses.
Kishara runs the Barbarian through, removing him from the battle.
Tikrit thrusts his sword into the Acolyte quite cleanly - she screams profanities at him and readies a counter assault, not quite noticing Mandraks arrival... (I assumed you'd probably make enough room by 5' step to get the whole party in the fight)
Mandrak
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 1d100 ⇒ 82
Damage 1d6 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (1) = 7
Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 1d100 ⇒ 85
Damage 1d6 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (1) = 6
With bloody and fatal consequences.

Kishara smiles over her shoulder at the Katana wielding Tengu, until she notices the way he is favoring one side and her smile turns to a grimace as she realizes he is badly hurt. Growling with anger and frustration, she notices the mad woman's movement and strikes with her rapier a beat after Tikrit slashes at the bleeding Mage.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 54
GM Shifty
|
The woman evades the blows of Kishara and Tikrit and finishes her arcane ramblins, there is a flash as a gout of flame washes over Kishara and across the wall of the building behind her, but the flames are by far less than lethal and only serve to scorch the building and incense Kishara further.
The melee looks set to continue until Grimaldus advances and blindsides the woman, sword striking home rather effectively and sending her falling to the street.
It is now quiet in the alleyway.
Kishara
|
Kishara straightens up from her crouching, defensive position. Her breath hissing through her clenched and bared teeth, her eyes wide with shock in a livid expression as she raises her free hand to her (slightly smoking) braided hair as if checking to see that it is still there. Her hand satisfied that she had not been disfigured it clenches suddenly in a fist as she raises her face skyward and lets rip a nearly feline roar of defiance and rage.
Her rapier clatters to the flagstones as she turns to Tikrit, running her hands over his feathers and trying to determine how badly he is hurt. She sucks air through her teeth again and winces in sympathy as she finds the wound. "We've got to get you to a healer now... Grim and Aegon too." She whispers a silent prayer for the too still Halfling knight.
Heal Check (untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Oh sure, NOW I roll an 18. lol!
Grimaldus
|
Seeing Kishara tend to Tikrit and Aegon, Grimaldus will investigate the bodies of their attackers, looking for any clues that will shed light on who they were and why they attacked his friends. Oh, and since they're dead, he takes anything that looks valuable, magical, or can serve as a weapon.
"I have a potion that will cure some of your wounds if needed, although now the danger is past we might want to conserve it for more dire circumstances. Know that I have it and will give to any of you in need!"
Tikrit
|
Blood, camouflaged by the black feathers of the Tengu, is running freely from a vicious-looking slash in his side, but he appears to be in no immediate danger. "Thank you Kishara. I think I can make it to the Pathfinder Society headquarters. Someone there can tend to these wounds more effectively." he says. "Did any of them survive? What are we to do with them?"
Yhen
|
"That's a good idea, maybe grab a badge or something that can lead us to who attacked us?"
Yhen will look for symbols or icons or something that she can use to link the people behind the attack.
GM Shifty
|
Taking a brief pause after the fight to collect yourselves, you attempt to piece together who these people were and what they were about, and from what you can gather they are a band of thugs and footpads who thought they would try for a big score and turn over a group of Pathfinders on the way back with bags of loot. Clearly this didn't go so well.
At the end of the day, Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin thanks you all for carrying out his tasks, listens most interestedly to your reports, concerns, and surprises, and assures you that not every mission for the Pathfinder Society involves running errands about Absalom. He congratulates you all on proving your skill and responsibility, and promises you a new assignment in the near future that will take you
beyond Absalom’s unassailable walls.
Thus concludes First Steps Part 1: In service to Lore
