Yhen:
Improved Familiar Feat which if you look on the chart opens up Imps at Level 7, so ok it is a feat, but heck YOU GET AN IMP! :)

"There are magics to bring them in, magics to bind them, and contracts to negotiate. Some days things don't go to plan, and even the best laid bindings go awry, one can never be too careful, and if one wishes to rule and command such powers, one must be prepared to be ruthless" She smiles to Yhen.

Noted above

You conclude your dealings with the Chelish woman, who smiles at Grimaldus, "Perhaps you can hold on to that dagger too, why not come by and return it later when you are sure you are done with it?" - the offer being a clear invitation to something entirely different, her eye also passes over a few other party members like the event doesn't have to be entirely exclusive. She gives Kishara a devilish wink as you all leave.

Tired after a long day and upbeat about getting your list of tasks done, you begin the journey back to the Grand Lodge.
A throng of people blocks the street ahead. A performance art group commandeers the street, drawing graffiti to create a jolly hellscape complete with illusory devils comically dancing around in circles. A few citizens avoiding the crowd slip off-street through a nearby alley, the only egress past the gathering.

Taking the detour with the rest of the small crowd, you are on the lookout for anything untoward, and lo and behold, your earlier observations pay off and many of your blades are in hand just moments after the street is hit with a fog out of nowhere and you hear the shouts of people positioning to attack you...

Shouty little man!

Due to luck and attentiveness, Aegon, Grim, Kish, and Mandrak aren’t as surprised as the ambushers would have hoped as they spot familiar faces and feel familiar tingles.

Misfortune (Su): The witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A Will save negates this hex. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. This hex affects all rolls the target must make while it lasts. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day. DC = 15

Yhen wrote:

It is full of Obscuring mist as per the spell, and by all means you should always fel free to use every trick, tool and trap at your disposal to overcome the challenges presented. The only thing I'd draw your attention to is the methods under the RAW of burning off Obscuring mMist appear to be dropping a Fireball or Flamestrike, along with a Wall of Fire into the space... which might have some rather curious outcomes for the party all squeezed into a confined space if it happened :p

Tikrit considers the unfolding combat, Aegon advances into the space left by the halfling and notes a man waiting with rapier drawn hiding in the mist and ready to strike.

Grimaldus lets out a mighty roar, and tears up to the awaiting ambush, past the waiting man who uncoils at him like a snake...1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13/1d100 ⇒ 52 but finds his slender blade simply bounces harmlessly off mail. Grim also finds the nutcase Halfling to be otherwise quite deft, and is stopped in his tracks as the Halfling counters his maneuver with its axe with rather brutal results. Grim, 9 points damage as he smacks you heavily

Grim now stands in front of a Berserk Halfling Barbarian, a mail clad woman with a Mace, and behind him a rapier wielding Rogue.

Over run provoked AOO:

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19/1d100 ⇒ 57>20 or miss.
Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Liberty's Edge

Miss chance: 1-20 misses 1d100 ⇒ 26

You can flank Kishara, but so long as this mist persists you won't be able to sneak attack. You can't sneak attack a foe with concealment, though this applies to their rogue as well

Kishara deliberated what to do, leaning towards the idea of sheltering behind the alcove just behind. Or better yet, run for your bleeding life, Kish! her inner voice adopting the voice of her childhood friend. Raven had often cursed her for putting herself in unneeded danger. But suddenly her reverie and decision making came to an abrupt end as Grimaldus charges suddenly forward, his roar cut off abruptly by a sickening sound that drains the blood from her face.

Drawing her rapier as she springs into the mist, she makes out Aegon's shape in front of her and she goes to the right of him, heading for direction of Grim's cry. She spots his hulking shape in the mist and takes position at J5 and lashes out with her rapier, meaning to finish what she started and end that nasty halfling.

Unless I miscounted, that's my full movement, I can get around to flank until next round, but that will be the plan. =)
Question: So when I flank in mist, I won't get my sneak attack damage, just my +1 from dirty fighter? So a feint will only help by removing the Dex bonus from AC?

Sczarni

Sadly not :( oh so close.

Nice narrative Kish, but you'd need to get up on top of the roof to run to J5, OR go to H4 and use the attack on the Rogue instead, but that would block any back stepping 5' steps from Aegon or Grim... decisions decisions! - To climb up is 4x move for 10' and requires a DC20 climb check at a corner.

Shifty, I've been looking over rules but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Is there a way to 5 ft step over prone Grim (and he could 5 foot scoot to my square?) and use my action to actively deflect/parry attacks on Grim and/or myself? Total defense is the closest thing I could find but I didn't find any stipulation for applying the AC bonus to someone else. =/

Sczarni

Yeah its a bit difficult by RAW, as you can't both occupy the same space. That being said, you could notionally 'Aid another' on defence, giving him a +2 to AC by making a DC10 'attack', however, that would be done on your turn. Alternately you could use something like a reposition maneuver on your ally - who you could notionally shove out of the way (incorporate a 5' step perhaps) and effectively swap spots. There's a Feat that allows it free as part of a move action or 5' step too.

Giving Tik a chance to act.
