"Oh my goddess I needed a bell just like this one. Now whenever dinner is ready I'll just ring the bell and everyone will come running right to me. No more wondering where Ivar has run off to again, he'll just hear the bell and know dinner is ready. Can you imagine the super smart wizard that came up with this thing, he must have been really smart. I wonder if he lives around here, we should go see if we can find him and thank him for making such an awesome thing. I wonder if he has any other really neat inventions that we can have."
Lalali-Re
It might come in handy, i'll bring it along. Not sure how much you can sell it for or where exactly we would sell it at the moment. Perhaps if we ever reach civilized lands again. Untill then it's not heavy to carry.
I've added it to Lalalis tab on the PC share site in the Treasury document in my header here. Hope it's halfway up to date, kinda forgot about it myself. You can all write there.

There is one more of these odd and pointless encounters before you actually get to the meaningful part of the module.
If you are trying to figure out if any have a connection to what you are doing, no they do not.
If you want to skip the last one and just get on with things, let me know.
I don't know about anyone else, but I enjoy the odd encounters, maybe it's just that Ivar likes to fight...
drbuzzard
Ok, that's the only vote so we'll go with the next odd encounter.
By this time, you have left the Screaming Jungle to follow the river across the Korir Plains. At this point, the river widens and becomes fast and shallow, no more than a few feet deep. The surrounding vegetation consists almost entirely of reeds, mangroves, lotuses, and other water plants. After a few miles of travel, you spot four young Zenj women bathing in the river. When they see the you, the girls giggle shyly and invite the you to their home just upstream for dinner and rest. They introduce themselves as Alala, Masozi, Osumare, and Zakiyya.

Sounds perfectly normal to me. I start to follow them towards their home for a nice dinner and finally a quiet place to rest.
drbuzzard
You are led to a simple but clean hut on the banks of the river and are fed a filling meal of fish, frog legs, and wild rice. Over dinner, the women inform you that they are spirit dancers who awaken people's spirit totems. They offer to awaken your totem spirits after differ if you like.
One in particular does pretty much all of the talking.
Malok, the East Wind
"It's odd you all would be so kind. Do you offer this to every stranger you meet?"
SM any response: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 ah yes..
