Malok, the East Wind
Malok prepares his spells for a new day and is ready..
"Let's try to communicate peacefully with the Avain, perhaps we can offer a trade for a feather or something."
Buzz, as we approach the area indicate I wanna cast Commune with Birds and ask the locals if the Stormbird is normally hostile.
Dargorath
"Depending on how high the cliff is, I might be able to arrange an air lift up." Dargorath remarks.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
...One such magnificent creature, named Chirok, lives but a day’s walk east. There, at the end of a peninsula, you’ll spot a lone promontory known as Gozreh’s Crest. The bird nests at the top of the cliff. Return when you have a feather.”
Ivar shrugs and starts walking toward the peninsula...
Is it far enough we need to camp for the night?
Malok, the East Wind
I assumed the "days walk east" meant we would have to camp. If not ret con my previous statement.

"Fellas... Stop speaking of eating crabs, I'm sure the Hermit will somehow hear us and punish us." whispers the halflingdin.
"I fear, me mateis, that unless we need to stab the glorified chicken I am of no use other than as bait. The Drunken Lord hasn't blessed me with animal taming skills."
drbuzzard
As you head up to the location (which is quite a hike), a storm starts to build up, with pretty serious wind and rain. The wind is quite heavy, and the rain is coming down in sheets by the time you get to your destination.
You cast the commune with birds, and get back an answer of "Not especially mean, but don't mess with her nest. She gets riled. "
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
'Do something about the weather?' Ivar looks from Darg to Malok, waiting to see, if in fact, the Tengu could do something about the weather. After a moment he nods to the location of the nest, "So are we all going or just whoever is talking to the bird?"
Buzzard, what is the terrain and what kind of skill check you want?
Lalali-Re
Lalali looks around from under her umbrella and poncho.
Do something about the weather. What can Malok do about the weather? Might be interesting to watch. Even though this might be the birds doing, who knows.
We are all going. Who knows what´s that bird up to. Perhaps it eats other birds or dwarves. Probably the peck and i are best suited at talking to it and i can help with a little magic.
drbuzzard
Even without the wind, the promontory is a difficult climb. The smooth, wind-beaten eastern face is impossible to ascend. Only the western face is jagged enough to allow for solid footing . The storm bird’s nest sits almost at the top of the crest, about 500 feet above sea level, overlooking the water.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Ivar looks first to Barton... "Are we all climbing or just one who's going to talk to the bird?" and then to the rest of the party, "And are we going to let them go alone or do I need to climb with them in case they get attacked?" Then nodding to Malok. "Like Malok did back at the pearl diving fiasco?"
Ivar's climb is +8, I don't think he will be taking the armor off this time :-)
Dargorath
"I can get Galittlehad up to the top, but the rest of you are too heavy. I think we should get as many people up to the top as possible. Maybe once he gets up there he can lower down the ropes."
Dargorath then summons a small air elemental and bids it in Auran to carry the hallfling to the top of the cliff.

"Sounds like a plan, give the handsome all the rope!" the paladin exclaims with open arms.
Malok, the East Wind
"I have a spider climb spell prepared and can give one other a climb speed as well.. That takes care of two. I can summon elemental's to carry the rest.."
I can summon 2 other air elemental's to carry two people up..
Malok, the East Wind
It has 100 fly, so double move up it would be 400', so yea your right. Scratch that.
Dargorath
Actually under the fly section there is this - "Fly up at a greater than 45° angle - DC 20 fly check. So with fly checks they could push it through 200 ft a round. Air elementals are also flying naturally - not that they are subject to the fly spell
fly: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22
fly: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
fly: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Weight is an issue though - that's why only Sir Galittlehad and MAYBE Lalali-Re can go up that way

"Did I tell you I don't find heights comfortable?" the peck comments, thanking Cayden for his blessing that makes him feel no effects from fear.
"Ivar, do you still have the crab based meal we got? I think Birdie will appreciate the gift"
[Ooc]I'll continue assuming Ivar has it, if not he'll take all his rations and Ivar's if he agrees[/oocM
The peck starts walking towards the nest as he carries the food.
"Hey Birdie! Can you spare a second to hear about Cayden's Glory and to be petted for a while?" he calls out loud.
Malok, the East Wind
Malok scans the nest for a loose feather.
Perc: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
"We might be able to find a loose one and just get the heck outta here."
Dargorath
"This is strange. It just left its eggs unattended - wouldn't that cause the eggs not to hatch? Let's not be too hasty and back off a little from the nest. Maybe we scared it off."
Dargorath then backs off some way further from the nest."And don't touch the eggs!" He admonishes the party.
Malok, the East Wind
"It's probably gone looking for food. Let's find a feather and be gone."
Dargorath
