Rope sounds fine..
He directs his raptor to stay on land while he and Ivar go for a swim.
OK, you need a DC 15 swim check to make it down to the oyster bed (with a swim speed, this is moot- you don't need to roll Malok).
You will also need a DC 12 reflex save to avoid being cut on the coral around the beds.
Tying the rope to Malok and himself Ivar swims out with the Tengu keeping an eye out for trouble.
Do you want a swim check from Ivar without the armor he has + 11 swim
swim: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
'These waters are certainly warmer than when I went swimming as a kid.' Slashing around in the Cove reminds Ivar of summers as a child.
Are only those 2 going? Lalali would have some more of that spell Malok cast.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 yikes..
Apparently he has not adapted to his new swim speed and bumps into the corral on his way down..

Archers and water don't mix so I'll stay on land thx.I am willing to summon water elementals to help out though.
Only the two are currently in the water. Need a survival check to see if you can find a nice pearl (black pearl in particular).
Also still need that reflex save Ivar.
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 sorry didn't think about him needing it if he was swimming at the top
You didn't specify, I assumed you were helping with the mission.
sorry the intent was for Ivar to stay at the top (the waters surface) and keep an eye out, he will be attached to Malok with the 100 ft of rope he has, so he doesn't drift out to sea. Or that's at least how I pictured it in my head...
If you're not diving for pearls, then no, you don't need to make reflex saves.
The pearl search consists of survival checks, with repeated dives increasing your chances.
Gonna cheer you up from the shore.

Swimming around Malok looks for select, juicy oysters..
He finds a few fairly nice pearls among the oysters, but not a black one (yet). He does notice that there's some human bones down here, which makes him a tad nervous.
Another survival check.

That finds a fairly lousy pear. White, but misshapen.
You also notice a green humanoid swimming in your direction.
Yeah i think so too. Going diving just like on a holiday. What could possibly happen? And we have to wait here with those unfriendly, barbaric villagers.

How far away? Knowledge roll?
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
does Ivar see the green creature? He is specifically keeping an eye out to protect Malok.
if Ivar sees the green creature, he begins to swim toward Malok. Holding the rope in one hand, drawing the shortsword in the other.
swim: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Yes, you see it.
Critter is 40' away from Malok.
Knowledge Nature to identify.
knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Ivar was at the waters surface, how deep is Malok? And I will try and find how fast Ivar can swim :-)
Seeing the creature, Ivar begins swimming toward Malok, drawing his shortsword as he swims.
You recognize it to be a Kelpie. NE Medium Fey. You know no details.
HP 51/51 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +9 | Ref +5 | Will +13 | Init +2 | Perc +18
Know Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 sweet moto..
Malok uses his totem transformation for +2 AC. He then swims closer to Ivar.

Do people onshore see anything amiss?
drbuzzard, if Ivar was on the surface and then dived would the people on shore have noticed?
Everything going on is under water. Ivar diving under water is not anomalous unless you yelled, which you didn't. People on shore have no idea something is amiss.
The Kelpie chases after Malok and attacks.
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 10 damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 miss
Ivar and Malok are up. The rest of you are looking around for drinks with umbrellas to enjoy on the beach.
Swimming close enough to the Kelpie, Ivar begins to rage and attacks with the shortsword.
I'm assuming the swim check counts for combat or do you want me to reroll?
Move: swim distance? Attack: shortsword, rage, powerful blow: AC 18
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 for damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12
Malok was able to get to use due to his swim speed, so the critter had to get close enough to you to be in melee range.
You hit.

Dargorath buys a blue cocktail off a vendor and sits down on the sand. He takes a sip, then grins appreciatively.
"Hey, what do you call this drink again? It's good!"
LOL, Archers and water don't mix, besides I can't even give myself a swim speed, nor use any of my abilities underwater =(
HP 51/51 | AC 19 | T 13 | FF 17 | CMD 19 | Fort +9 | Ref +5 | Will +13 | Init +2 | Perc +18
Malok tries a bite/claw/claw.. Not sure if claws are considered piercing, but I know bite is for underwater purposes.

Bart doesn't know anything is wrong underwater, so he just looks for sand dollars along the water's edge.
The native who sold you the drink informs you that it is a Blue Booby (named after the bird, get your mind out of the gutter).
Bart, give me a perception check for sand dollar finding.
Malok hits with his bit, nipping off some vegetation.
The Kelpie attacks again shifting targets to Ivar since he appears to be the bigger threat.

to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 4 damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 miss
The kelpie is starting to reconsider the value of this meal.
PCs are up.
stupid creature, it should have swam the other way. swimming to the other side of the creature, Ivar thrusts his shortsword at the thing again.

Some bubbling noises come from his clear lack of accuracy..
One claw lands for a bit of damage, but it's all enough to make the evil plant thingy decide that the meal isn't worth it, and it does a full withdrawal to get away (in a direction which does not provoke from Ivar- diagonal).
Malok gets an AOO as it runs.

Malok lands a bite on it as it attempts to flee, which is the straw that broke the kelpies back, and it starts to leak more and drift in the current.
Without any further disturbance, you can keep at your pearl diving until you find the black pearl.
Bart is able to find some nice sand dollars, but none of the really big ones.
'Need to head back to the top.' Tapping Malok on the shoulder, Ivar points to himself and then the surface. Before he swims upward he grabs the plant thing and drags it with him. Checking the body for anything of value.

"Bartok, what are you looking for? Chill out, sit on the sand, and just relax..." Dargorath urges the busily hunting sand dollar Bartok. "The drinks are good!"
After Malok comes up
"So how were things down there? They have this drink called the blue booby and it's pretty good!" Dargorath encourages the party to try some.
My mind is never in the gutter =)

"Id rather abstain while on the job. Perhaps some other time. Shall we be getting back?"
The two get out of the water with their prize and the party heads back to the irascible druid.
Seeing the proffered pearl "Not bad. Test passed. Now you can do the test of wind. "
"The task of wind is a simple one. All Gozreh requires is a single complete feather from a humble stormbird. One such magnificent creature, named Chirok, lives but a day’s walk east. There, at the end of a peninsula, you’ll spot a lone promontory known as Gozreh’s Crest. The bird nests at the top of the cliff. Return when you have a feather.”
A stormbird?
Lalali lays her hand on her chin in a thinking pose.
kn:x: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Anyways we should get some more climbing supplies, pitons, hooks, rope, etc. The spell Malok used to swim can help us climbing as well.
Wow i really have infamous dice luck lately. Really need to come up with characters where i don´t need to roll anything.
Lalali thinks it might be an avian of some sort.
