With a lot of forcing and some cracked bones on the demon, Marckus is able to drag it down the stairs. However, once you have it inside, the wards seem to take effect and it begins to decompose rapidly.

"My trophy!" Marckus exclaims. He looks down at the drbuzzard in his arms as it fades away, imagining what it must be thinking.
"I don't feel so good." It would surely say if it were conscious and alive.
Marckus holds on until the last moment, but ultimately is helpless to stop the fate that has befallen his... corpse. He stares at the camera with intensity and regret.

Ulthar drapes a cloak over Marcus' shoulders with his head bowed. He then tries carrying just a head back. Surely that would hold up.


With Yackity Sax and a canned laugh track playing in the background, the pathos of the situation doesn't quite come across, especially when the head comes off and starts bouncing down the stairs ahead of you while Ulthar chases it.

Partway through Ulthar gives up, and just kicks the head on his way to the room the council of elves are holed up in. He knocks.
