Snaggletooth strikes at Thoran and misses! Anger and embarassment mix in the look on his face. "I look stupid in front of big, bad guys. I redeem myself." He thinks to himself. Then he reverses the blade in his hand and comes back and strikes Thoran in the gut. Only his magical protection saves Thoran from a grevious wound.(d20+13, 29, 1d4+4+2d8+6=4+4+10+6=24 or 12hp since he is insubst. and no setup)
Snaggletooth, 21 misses, so I'm using your spoilered action, which hits very nicely.
Thoran looks down at the kobold. "Your blood is the blood of dragons. Mine is the very substance of the dark. We fight face to face, small one."
Brujo rises, glowing ominously and plans his next move.
Mirth is up - +2 to defenses
Thoran - taking 5 ongoing fire (save ends). Insubstantial to end next turn, dazed to end Cronin's next turn.

Mirth Emberhand |

Mirth's attempt to coax the Shadar Kai's fears into manifesting are stymied. Her tail twitches in irritation, eyes sliding to Devlin who remains too close for her comfort.
[b]Illusory Ambush vs Thoran (Will): 1d20+8=12, 1d6+6=9, which surely misses. No movement.

Quick and dirty rather than narratively spectacular folk - apologies - I'm up to my neck today.
Thoran shifts back into the healing glow and focuses on Brujo, as his chosen enemy of worth, repeating his attacks. The swordmage is thrown to the ground once more.

When Leo's turn comes up he is going to employ second wind and just need to double check if anyone needs a save and Fairwind gets a +3 bonus to her next death save (Divine Mettle)
Leo tries to regain his bearing as Devlin taunts them even as shadar kai begin to overcome their numbers.

Reread the rules and should have marked Devlin as Leo couldn't reach Thoran but can't this round due to that oversight hence divine mettle and don't want to move until Fairwind gets out of Devlin's threat range

Stand up,emerging in K5. Twin Strike - magic short sword = 22 vs AC. Damage = 1d6+2 = 3. HQ damage = 3. Longsword = 23 vs AC. Damage = 3. Total damage to Thoran = 9 damage.
Fairwind rises, spits a gob of blood from her mouth and snarls quietly, "We ain't finished yet, pal..." before slashing elegantly at Thoran.

Fairwind's blades add to the shadar kai's wounds, but he loftily ignores her. "Now you will fight me swordmage."
Devlin nods appreciatively as Fairwind moves away. "Just who were you referring to there, mouthy-gal?"
Looking over to Thoran, he adds with more than an hint of warning in his voice, "Might want to watch your back big guy. Trouble's looming."

Monastery
The Emissary runs for it, suffering once more as Allendi swipes at the fleeing creature, damaging it even more. Dripping dark blood, it runs into the shadows and is lost to sight.
"Sneaky little buggers, aren't they?" growls the Abbot, marching over to the creeper and smacking it tetchily over the head with his staff.
Allendi v Creeper (1d20 6=20, 1d6 4=10)
The creeper, now bloodied and hissing furiously, circles and shifts between the pair of you and lashes out at Allendi. With a stifled cry, the Abbot goes rather white as the blows stikes home.
Creeper v Allendi (1d20 11=12, 1d4 6=8, 1d6=5). Used shadow walk to circle on the stairs and gain CA. Takes OA from Allendi ...
Allendi (OA on creeper) (1d20 6=24, 1d6 4=5)

I can't see any reason why Cronin would suddenly be prone, so I'm going to assume that's a cut-and-paste error until told otherwise
Cronin - You're not prone. It is a cut and paste error. Apologies.
Snaggletooth - You can stand over a prone ally and attack, but only if that ally is unconscious. Thus, Leo could stand over Fairwind's prone body last turn.
Our home house rule is that in cases like Fairwind's, if the prone ally returns to consciousness, they can shift one square as part of their move to stand from prone - effectively it's like an escape from a grab.
Brujo isn't unconscious however, so you can't do that in this case unless he's happy to double move to get out from under you on his own turn. One to stand, one to shift or move.

Snaggletooth |

eh, okay, good to know....... Rev, I am in the aura because of Caine's wolf pack tactics, right? Which he did to allow me to flank with Leo who didn't move in the last turn so he is in the same place. I am just trying to figure out how I got back into the aura. I felt like I was moved since last turn, but I can't figure out how. Anyhoo, I am up to full on HP (+8hp). Because when I started my last turn, I was in the aura, hence why I am slowed.
i hate being slowed

Snaggletooth . Yes indeed. Caine wolf-packed you to flank with Leo. Sorry about the slowing, but the flank seemed more tactically important. As you'll have gathered, you want to take this chaps down hard and fast.

dazing strike on thoran (d20+10, 29, that green d20 keeps going, 1d4+4, 5 hp to thoran and he is dazed until the end of my next turn) move...... question
Rev, is the aura considered difficult territory? Is there anyway I can get out of the aura without drawing a OA from thoran?
If there is, I would like to move to L5, outside the aura.
actually, I want to move there anyway. move to L5. what will be will be.

Rev DM |

Hi there all. Back and functioning - y'all miss me?
Brujo - you can teleport using dimensional warp and as long and still have a move and a standard action. If you teleport into the aura, you will still be slowed. Your swap partner will be slowed as well as they'll be in the aura in your place.
Snaggletooth - the aura isn't difficult terrain (although it has the same effect). It slows you. Moving out of it requires 2 movement points and will provoke and OA from Thoran.
Caine steps towards Devlin with a face of doom, warlord to warlord and tries to drive his shield into his foe's knees. Devlin just snorts derisively as the attack fails utterly.

Mirth Emberhand |

Mirth carefully retreats from Devlin, putting the reassuring bulk of the Commander between her and the polearm wielding lout.
Thoran's mind again refuses to relinquish any secrets for Mirth to wield against him, earning him a vexed scowl and a muttered curse.
Move: Shift to K3 (if possible, otherwise no move action)
Standard: Illusory Ambush v Thoran (Will): 1d20+8=11, 1d6+5=7 <sigh> Rev, Mirth will use Sly Dodge if Devlin attempts an OA.

Rev DM |

Mirth - you can't shift around a hard corner (as you suspected). No move. You still have Sly Dodge as Devlin's attack fails even without it.
Devlin gives Mirth a small salute as his halberd swishes past her. "Got good reflexes there horny gal."
Devlin OA v Mirth (1d20 10=15, 1d10 8=14)
One of Thoran's worse wounds closes over, blistering shut in the ongoing flames. Thoran looks on Brujo with unholy joy and swings his greatsword. Despite his heightened defenses, the shadar kai finds an opening.
As if in response to his attack, the surrounding flames flicker and die away.
Thoran v Brujo (1d20 12=25, 1d10 5=13). 13hp damage to Brujo
Save v ongoing fire damage (1d20=13)
Recharge Dance of Death (5,6) (1d6=5, 1d6=5). Dance of Death recharges. Shift 6 and make three attacks against different targets.
The Chainfighters throw back their heads and sail into battle once more. CF1 lashes gracefully at Snaggletooth, Fairwind and Brujo. All the attacks hit, leaving Brujo bloodied once more.
Dance of Death v Snaggletooth (1d20 12=25, 2d4 4=7, 1d6=1). 8hp damage to Snaggletooth.

Dance of Death v Brujo (1d20 12=31, 2d4 4=10, 1d6=4). 14hp damage to Brujo. Thank your lucky stars Finishing Move didn't recharge.
CF2 targets Leo, Fairwind and Brujo before moving sinuously next to Cronin. Fairwind slumps to the ground once more as the vicious spiked chain bites deep into her.
CF2 v Leo (1d20 12=26, 2d4 4=6, 1d6=3). 9hp damage to Leo.

Brujo - I'm checking on the Aegis for you. I think probably not, but that's instinctive rather than factual.

Chasing the Emissary is a possibility, but you're blinded and will need to save before you try to do that. If you don't want to try and hunt it down, you're out of combat.

Leo the half elven Paladin |

Leo shifts alongside Devlin.
"Lets keep this simple shall we?" he tells the warlord as he divinely challenges him and then deploys a holy strike against the mercenary warlord.
Shift to I-4, then divine challenge him and finally employ a holy strike: Roll 1d20+9:7+9 for total of 16 to hit, if as unlikely as it seems that does hit it does 1d8+6 radiant damage: 2+6 for 8pts of damage
"Caine I recommend a wolf pack tactics to shift me into flanking position for your strike," Leo mutters almost conversationally.
"Mirth I'd suggest shifting twice but away from this debacle," he adds apologetically.

Cronin |

"Shar take you," Cronin curses as the chainfighter follows him into the glow. He moves out, keenly aware of how vulnerable he is leaving himself, and lines up to try to draw out the shadar-kai with a blast of his goddess's light, banishing the shadows for a moment.
Recovered 8hp. Move to E5, drawing OA, then attack. Lance of Faith v CF2 ref (1d20+7=24, 1d8+6=14)

Rev DM |

Leo's attack can't break through Devlin's defenses, but the warlord sighs as the divine challenge hits him.
"Alrighty, preacher-man. Let's do this your way for now. I aim to please."
Cronin's hatred of the shadow folk helps him channel his rage and Selune's light etches searing wounds on the chain-fighter. In response to the cleric's movement, the spiked chain swings down and around, deftly removing the benefit Cronin gained from the aura.
OA v Cronin (1d20 12=25, 2d4 4=8). 8hp damage to Cronin.
Cronin, would you like to bestow your +2 bonus v CF2 on anyone in particular?
Bloodied, but unbowed, Caine bellows across to the prone ranger. "On your feet soldier! And Leo, shift right now!" The attack that follows is less successful, but Fairwind is once more back in mix and Leo is well positioned to take Devlin down. Caine stands his ground stoically, determined to the last.
