Cronin thanks Snaggletooth, then attempts to assist one of the warriors in opening the grate, but mostly just gets in the way.

Str assist (1d20=6) [ooc]Forgot level bonus -- should be 7. Woohoo.

Leo looks up,"Okay lets see if this sorts it out"

Strength check rolled an 18+3 for a total of 21 barring any other modifiers

The gate creaks open under Leo's ministrations. Snaggletooth nods approvingly.

"Now you think like kobolds. Very sneaky. Can we go now?"

I thought Fairwind was a ranger?

Leo the half elven Paladin wrote:

She is. She took Sneak of Shadows multi-class feat. Even so, she and Perigia haven't interacted much beyond Fairwind pinching her horse.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

The rouge? Fairwind doesn't wear make-up! ;D

Fairwind shuffles awkwardly.

"So..." she says nonchalantly, "Bein' made o' fire... must be kinda... um interesting."

"Snaggletooth, where are we supposed to find your cronies?"

"I am not so much made of fire, as I am infused with it's very essence. I can still have all the normal interactions with other beings, I am just more fiery and passionate about it," Perigia says.

Commander Caine wrote:

"In the tower. We need to go through the old tombs to get there. I can find traps, but kobolds don't fight dead things."

Looking as pale as it's possible for a kobold to look, he goes on.

"This is old tunnel. All the dead are here, but it goes to the tower. Kneebiter will be in the tower. Look. Creeper feet, kobold feet - maybe goblin feet. Creepers are taking us to the tower. Nobody comes back."

He points to the ground. Now he's shown you, you can easily see tracks made by at least two types of creature.

Snaggletooth looks very much in earnest. He doesn't need to point out that even if kobolds did fight dead things, he doesn't have a weapon.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Fairwind says, "Yeah, that must make life very interestin'. That Caine fella cracks me up, reckons we're like his Purple Whatsemcallits, Wyverns? Manticores?"

Female Genasi Firesoul Wizard 7

"I believe it's purple dragons," Perigia replies, "and Caine has always struck me as being the brooding loner with a mysterios and tragic past then the hero in shining armor riding off to adventure."

The diversion creating group return, breaking in on Fairwind and Perigia's moment of bonding. You are now all outside the gate to the tomb room.

MAP

Are you going in and if so, in what order?

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

Cronin fingers his holy symbol, perhaps nervously. "I'm not much good in the front ranks, but let me go in second. If the dead truly do wake here, Selune's protection will be needed."

"I'll take point, Fairwind cover Perigia if these things rise we'll need her to take out any at range before they can close in preferably some kind of area effect fire spells if possible, Caine we're going to need you next to Cronin so you can call on your tactical expertise to backup his clerical abilities," Leo asks.

Leo will take the lead unless one of the others protests.

From what you've said, this is the most likely set of positions I can come up with - and pre-supposes you are opening the gate and going into the room full of tombs. Take a look and make any amendments you wish to make in your next posts.

POTENTIAL POSITIONING

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Shout-out to the other players: Fairwind is not a ranged combatant. (well, only with daggers) But as you saw in the last fight she is a good troubleshooter, as she can use powers to run in, attack and shift out again, and dash all over the field. Just so you know. I'll stick where I am.

Good enough

POTENTIAL POSITIONING

Looks fine to me :) *Goes back to updating character sheets

Perigia and Caine, if you want to be in different places, tell me when you can and I'll amend.

Raised stone biers are spaced evenly around the floor of this chamber, a few of them supporting the remains of ancient warriors honourably arrayed in death. The mail-clad forms are shrouded with dust, rusted blades grasped in their bony hands. A scattering of bones and rusted armour litters the floor. The warriors of ancient Saharelgard were treated with respect.

As you pass through the gate however, the peaceful scene changes before your eyes. From the mass of bones scattered amongst the biers a dozen skeletons arise, longbows clutched in their bony hands and swords at their sides.

MAP - round 1

Things to note. The biers are 3 feet high. You can move over them as part of a move action treating them as difficult terrain (i.e. it costs 2 squares).

Skellies rolled 16 for init.

Please roll init remembering to add in +2 for Commander Caine's presence.

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

I was thinking Brujo using Lightning Lure to bring skeleton D1 to D-8 and hit it, Leo shifts to D-7 and divine challenges it and then a holy strike upon it, depending on what initiative Caine gets he could use Wolf Pack Tactics to move Cronin to C-6 allowing Fairwind to move forward and engage that is if he can act before the skeletons of course, if not? any ideas? Having Brujo swap Fairwind and Cronin so she can act?

Rolled Commander Caine's init for him. 23

Full init order-

BLOCK 1
Caine is up
Brujo
Fairwind
Leo

Skellies

BLOCK 2
Cronin
Perigia

MAP - round 1

Sorry about that Rev, just woke up after sleeping off a terrible hangover.

"Onwards! Close in!" Move to E9

Atk; Dmg (1d20+9=20, 1d10+5=10)

No worries Commander, at least IC played nice with you.

D1 falls back to a pile of bones almost as it reforms. From the vaulted ceiling you hear the sound of rustling as things left undisturbed for years wake again.

Brujo is up
Fairwind
Leo

Rev, would I be able to move d1 to D8?

Brujo it's dead and gone, so no, you can't. Sorry, description was descriptive rather than clear. Pick another one. If the question is to do with moving creatures around the biers, I think you can if there is a clear pathway. I'll keep the map updated for you all as far as possible.

D1 isn't there any more.

Moving to the side of a bier, Brujo's blade erupts with lightning.

Move to D11; Lightning lure on d4(drag him E10) 1d20+6=11; Damage 1d6+6=8 lightning damage

The skeleton shows surprising fortitude and resists Brujo's attempt to haul it towards him. Multiple bones click as the skeletonic minions load their bows and prepare to fire at the party.

Fairwind is up
Leo
Skellies

Fairwind and Leo post at will. Apologies for the delay in pushing this along. Fell over yesterday and bruised myself - twas distracting.

No problem as long as you're okay, however since I might not be able to post later and Fairwind is up first I better post Leo's action first

Leo will move to D-6 perching atop a sarcophagus lid and using divine challenge on D#2 and cut loose with a Holy Strike upon the skeleton.

Rolled a 10+9 for 19 to hit and if it does, does 1d8+6 which I rolled a 6 for 12pts of radiant damage on D#2 and by perch I mean he's kneeling atop it and swinging his longsword at the skeleton behind it with his shield ready for any counter attacks and to prevent him toppling off said sarcophagus lid.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Delay until after Leo. If he hits D2, then I'll move to F6.
Twin Strike - D3 and D7 (1d20+7=12, 1d20+7=12) I assume that missed both. :(

Fairwind rushes past the paladin and stabs furiously at the undead.

Male Half Elf Paladin 6th

Not going to be able to post any more today so if Leo's turn comes up again he'll back Fairwind unless he didn't manage to take down D#2 which he'll continue to hammer, if he does he'll move forward to the next foe in front. Take care!

Leo leaps effortlessly on top of the nearest bier and shatters D2 almost contemptuously.

Unperturbed, the bony horrors open fire and a fusilade of arrows fills the room. The sound of crunching bone grows louder as they unceremoniously trample the dead and back towards the second chamber, bows still at the ready.

D3 and D7 fire at Cronin and Leo respectively, providing Fairwind with an unexpected opening in their defences.

Fairwind OAs on D3 and D7 - take at will

D3 fires at Cronin and hits, but takes OA from Fairwind. D3 attack on Brujo (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=24)
D4 fires at Caine and misses.
D5 fires at Brujo and misses.
D6 fires at Caine and hits him. D6 attack on Caine (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=26)
D7 fires at Leo and hits him, but takes OA from Fairwind. D7 attack on Leo (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=25)
D8 fires at Fairwind and hits her. D8 attack on Fairwind(4hp on hit) (1d20 6=25)
D9 fires at Fairwind and hits her. D9 attack on Fairwind (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=17)
D10 fires at Fairwind and misses.
D11 fires at Fairwind and hits her. D11 attack on Fairwind (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=20)
D12 fires at Caine and hits him. D12 attack on Caine (4hp on hit) (1d20 6=25)

Fairwind has taken 12hp damage. Caine has taken 8hp damage. Cronin and Leo take 4hp each.

MAP - after skellie moves.

Fairwind OAs on D3 and D7. If you hit AC18 they're gone and I will amend the map.
Cronin
Perigia

Cronin
Perigia

Cronin's move depends substantially on the outcome of the OAs

Female Genasi Firesoul Wizard 7

Perigia moves to D12 and casts Magic Missile at D4. 1d20+5=24 vs. Ref. 2d4+3=8 damage.

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

OAs (1d20+7=17, 1d20+7=24) On D3 and D7 respectively.

D7 dissolves in a pile of dust, but Fairwind's attack fails to make any impact on D3. Perigia moves swiftly to join Brujo and her missile sends up a cloud of dust as it detonates, reducing D4 to nothingness.

UPDATED MAP - taking account of Perigia's stated actions, as they are unlikely to impact much on Cronin. These are minions, so if you hit at all, they are gone.

Cronin to finish the round

M Goliath Cleric 14 / Storm Speaker / Druid

"Selune, guide me against these creatures of darkness!" Cronin invokes a prayer of protection, then moves further into the room.

Cast Sanctuary on self (+5 to all defenses) then move SW SW S S to G9

"Look up stupid big things!" shouts Snaggletooth from the doorway. The source of the faint rustling is revealed as three enormous bats drop from the ceiling and flap towards you.

MAP - Round 2 start with added bats

BLOCK 1
Caine is up
Brujo
Bats

BLOCK 2
Leo
Fairwind
Skellies

BLOCK 3
Cronin
Perigia

Commander?

- Brujo, if you'd like to post your actions, I'll slot the good Commander in later when he surfaces.

Rev how far up are the bats?

They're within reach. Flying down towards you. I'm ruling that if they are adjacent you can hit them. The ceiling is low - only about 8 feet up.

Rev

Spoiler:

That's good. If they were higher up I was going to try and jump for it!

Brujo summons another tendril of lightning, and wraps it tight around the bats neck. "Sorry about this"

With a tug he attempts to pull the bat down to earth.

Lightning Lure on B1 (dragging it to C11) 1d20+6=15 vs Fort.; Damage 1d6+6=9 lightning damage
