The same key provides functions for all of these, the golem, the door, it seems to be a very useful key. The golem does not immediately start moving again when you remove the key from his back. You figure if you slept overnight and came back in about a day, he probably would.
In the room, you curiously find five separate pairs of items. They appear to have been specifically placed here recently, as they have nearly no wear but do seem to have been thoughtfully arranged.
The first contains a potion of eagle's splendor and an oil of magic weapon.
The second contains a wand of cure light wounds (10 charges) and a scroll of lesser restoration.
The third has a potion of invisibility and a potion of cure light wounds.
The fourth has a wand of mage armor (10 charges) and a scroll of web.
The final has a wand of lesser confusion (10 charges) and a scroll of cat's grace.
The magic items are neatly labeled so no identification is necessary, and they seem to have been placed here specifically with your number in mind.

Dragall takes wand of cure light wounds and scroll of lesser restoration and all the other things nobody wants.
Guys let's move on!

Dragall goes back through the room with the pool in the hallway to the door that has not been checked yet.

The Lem-Bot takes the wand of lesser confusion and scroll of cat's grace, intending to use it on the rogue later unless it finds another need for that. The wand should prove useful if living foes are found. He ponders whether it would work on mindless undead and why anyone would gift him that sort of item.
When Dragall arrives at this door, he sees it is somewhat rounded, and finds a handle which appears to be ready to slide the door aside. It currently seems well-latched, however. Not locked.

Kara will take the wand of Lesser Confusion and the scroll of Cat's Grace.

ScorchedOne |

The Lem bot already took those items, Kara. And Lesser Resto would cure that, yes.

Right behind you, big guy.

Is that hood you're wearing from Varisia? It looks like the work of one of my dress stylists. Garr del Cee la Hombra dula Zircoff, from the Style District in Korvosa? You can't miss him, he always wears these ridiculous dark glasses, even at night. But he's a genius with the measuring tape. I'm almost sure this is his work.

![]() |

"I don't know! I just know that my father left me this hood!"
"I think you should be worried about these arrows! Rizzok can you check that it's not a trap?"
"I will do the same!" Dragall checks for traps.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

I'm generally behind Dragall. If I'm not in the right spot please move me.

![]() |

Rizzok chooses the potions of invisibility and cure light wounds.
"If you'll allow me..."
If Rizzok is allowed up front he will check for traps.

ScorchedOne |

Rizzok discovers that the thing in the middle of the room is most definitely a trap, and that it is about to start filling the entire room with enough arrows to turn every living thing therein into a pincushion.
Talondreal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Dragall: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Lem: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Rizzok: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Trap: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Kara, Lem, Rizzok, and Talondreal have actions before the trap triggers. Dragall will unfortunately be caught unawares once the trap spins up to speed and starts launching arrows.

![]() |

Dragall is behind the door still, with only Rizzok actually in the room. Since Rizzok is one of the ones with a Surprise round action, presumably he could run back to safety and Kara could slam the door closed? @GM, is that feasible?

![]() |

Rizzok, get back here! It's a trap!
Kara waits for Rizzok to come back, then reaches past Dragall to close the door.

![]() |

Then back up!
Rizzok drops prone and covers himself.
Prone + Total defense should give him an effective AC of 25 against ranged attacks.
A little background on Rizzok, since I never took the time to explain it. Rizzok is from Druma and a follower of the Prophecies of Kallistrade. As such he shuns physical contact as much as possible. Even though he's a ratfolk rogue, I've actually traded away his swarming racial feature because he's not about to share a space with another dirty ratfolk, or anyone else for that matter. What this means for you is Rizzok will not willingly move through another creature's space. He would have insisted that everyone back out of the narrow hallway so that he could get to the front without having to squeeze through you. But now, since he can't leave the room without going through your space, he'd rather take his chances with the trap.

ScorchedOne |

The trap, having spun up to speed, begins firing arrows all around the room! The closed door protects those on the far side of it, but Rizzok still in the room finds himself pelted with arrows!
Arrows: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Nonlethal
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
One of them scores a hit, and Rizzok notices these are blunted arrows. Still stings, though. He gets the distinct impression that this is going to start hurting pretty soon.
Everyone may act now. 1 round action before it fires again. And it IS going to fire again.

Rizzok, let us in!
Kara examines the door for an opening mechanism.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

"Kara I'll show you how to open the door."
Dragall grabbs the handle and opens the door. He enters the room and while moving he takes the wand of CLW. He stands near Rizzok. Starts to locating the trap.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something. Is the door we came through closed or not? It seems like Kara intended to close it when I came back, but since I didn't come back, I assume she would not have closed it. So did it close on its own?
I took my action assuming I was cut off from the rest of the group, but if that is not the case I would like to change my action.

![]() |

For some reason I was thinking it was half-move when crawling.
Nevermind then, I will crawl back through the doorway now that there is an open space.

![]() |

Shall we wait a minute or so and see if the trap runs out of arrows? Failing that, Rizzok, do you think you can disable it, or should we try to batter it into pieces?
Really more of a question to the GM, but aimed at Rizzok. Do we think we can disable it with a skill check? Does it look like it can be broken by physical damage?

![]() |

Kara offers her wand of Infernal Healing to Rizzok, both now and prior to any attempt he makes to disable the trap.
+1 HP/rd for 10 rounds each use. If Rizzok agrees I'll mark off two uses. Even if he's hit by every single arrow, the ongoing healing should stabilize him automagically.

![]() |

I came to help you Rizzok and now you leave me here alone. My intent was to heal you while you trying to disable the trap.
If doors are opened Dragall will exit the room with trap.

![]() |

That trap is too dangerous, even dealing nonlethal damage. Remember that you can only take nonlethal damage equal to your maximum hp. After that any additional nonlethal damage is instead lethal damage. So at 32 nonlethal, and that trap can deal that much damage in a single round, Rizzok dies. It's too accurate and once you drop unconscious, you're AC against further attacks is likely going to plummet. It's just too risky to try. I'll probably drop before I even get a chance to disable it.
