Daringore manages to keep ahead of the town guards trying to get the ladies off the streets. The women he winks at screech in terror and run inside to hide.
The menfolk are a bit miffed at this and start to form a lynch mob. Luckily the town guards who are following you break up the rather ugly mob.
You arrive at the Cathedral.

The priest actually greets you at the doors since the clangorous noise or your arrival interrupted him from his meditations.
"Ahh, you've been drained by the foul undead. Ahh, well I'm not quite of sufficient experience to ameliorate that condition, but I think I might have a scroll for it around here somewhere. " and he leads you back into the cathedral and opens a locked chest.
"Here we go, I do have one. Bought it just in case, but I've not had a cause to use it as yet. " and he will cast it on you. "I'd appreciate it if you could get me a replacement copy, or the funds to secure a replacement. "

You all spend a restful night at the Inn and find yourselves woken up by a town guard bursting into your room "Giants approaching the north gate! You need to hurry!"
You have time to get your gear on, but not much else.
Once there you see three giants dressed in thick pelts heft huge rocks pulled from the ground. Periodically, one hurls a rock against Sandpoint’s northern gate. The iron-reinforced oak timbers splinter and crack as the stones hit it, but so far, the gate holds.

The rock from the Mecha also lands doing reasonable damage. Seeing the bizarre creation toss rocks back at them, the giants decide to concentrate fire on the mecha.

OK, we'll assume you are standing outside of the smoke cloud and yelling to the mecha inside. In that case you are acting as fire control, not making those perception checks. However, you are also not the one throwing. It is still effectively blind to the target and has a 50% miss chance.
Of course the smoke stick creates a 10x10 cube of smoke (rules wise) and that is the size of the mecha, so the giants do know where to throw. They do have a 50% miss chance however.
miss chance: 2d100 ⇒ (45, 9) = 54 both miss.
