Hello. I am a newer GM to the forum. I have tried to run two other games. The first was a couple of years ago and I had to drop it because of RL. The other game a started up was for two friends who both had to quit. I have taken GM material from several sources that I have found appealing, so you may have heard some of this before.

I have been rp'ing for over 17 years, mostly D&D 3.X & PF.

I am looking for 4 players for this PbP with the possibility of a 5th PC if I get some extraordinary submissions.

For those of you who do not know about RotR:

In the sleepy coastal town of Sandpoint, evil is brewing. An attack by crazed goblins reveals the shadows of a forgotten past returning to threaten the town-and perhaps all of Varisia. The Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path begins with this goblin raid and takes players on an epic journey through the land of Varisia as they track a cult of serial killers, fight backwoods ogres, stop an advancing army of stone giants, delve into ancient dungeons, and finally face off against a wizard-king in his ancient mountaintop city.

Character Creation Guidelines:

Starting level: 1st, Medium xp advancement.
Stats: 20 point buy
Hit Points: Max at first level, Half round up after.
Starting Gold: Average starting gold.
Alignment: Non-Evil
Classes: Core
Races: Core
Traits: 2. One must be a campaign trait from RotR. Traits may picked from the Advanced Player's Guide (APG) only. Rich Parents is not available.
Just Core material, please do not ask to play anything else.

Character Background:

*Please use the campaign trait picked for this AP as part of your background.

*I would like a detailed background. Being a Sandpoint native is helpful but not required and will not improve chances of being picked.

*Backgrounds are the foundations we build to make or characters believable. They also provide hooks for the GM to engage your character more deeply in the story. Old enemies, lost relatives, and famous weapons make for terrific potential plot-lines, which makes everyone the winner. I’m not asking for a short story or a novel here. Keep it skirt-length (long enough to cover the important details, but short enough to keep me interested). A few paragraphs would suffice. Make sure to cover any driving events in your character's life, specific enemies (if any), and future goals. The more I have to hook into, the more likely you are to feel your character engaged in the adventure.

Player Expectations:

*Post as often as is necessary, but keep it regular. I tend to check the boards less often on the weekends, and multiple times a day during the week. Ideally, we’d have at least 1 post per day from everyone, as needed, but I understand that’s not always possible. I am going to do my best to keep this game moving. If you only check the boards on the weekends, this is not the PbP for you.
Perseverance is preferred. This is a long lasting story arc split into multiple modules with multiple parts each. If you don't think you can devote the time to hang around for at least a module at a time, this is not the PbP for you.

*Communication is key. Whether it is letting me know of a vacation where you might not have internet access, questions about some minutiae of game play, or simple clarifications; communication is how I gauge how engaged my players are, and how I can tune the adventure so that everyone is enjoying themselves. If you don’t think it’s important to let the other players and GM know when you are not going to be able to post for a few days, this is not the PbP for you.

*Roleplaying. As mentioned above, I like for my players to take the lead in a goodly portion of the adventure. Cues and clues will be given to prod, but I'd rather you go off on a wild hare chase rather than be spoon fed copied portions of the AP over and over. If rolling dice is your thing, and your character is the strong silent type, this is not the PbP for you.

*Quality posting. Know how you get when that hamburger you ordered doesn't look anything like the picture on the poster? That's how I feel about craptastic posts. No one (but you) is forcing you to rush a post out the door, so take your time with it. If you prefer to let the others do the talking, while you toss in one word responses, and like to roll for social skills with no explanations, this is not the PbP for you.

*Maps, pictures and handouts will by provided through Photobucket. I will attach links in the gameplay thread. I have not decided how I will run battle maps yet and will probably ask for help from my players if they have experience.

*If you have played any part of the RotR AP before I ask that you do not apply. Thanks.

*Have fun! This is one of the most important, because if you aren't having fun, why are you playing? Of course, this applies to everyone else too. So, don't be rude. If you want to have fun, then this is the PbP for you!

GM Review:

I am more interested in character concepts and stories than I am in how many times you can hit yourself in the head before you black out. Concept and background are just flat out more important to me than specific roles and the crunch. Don’t ask me what roles need filling. It does not matter. I would rather play with an all-rogue group that really gets into the storytelling than have the perfect 4/5 role setup.

What I want from you right now:

*I want your character concept (class & focus) and background, preferably in its own alias (though that’s just to help me keep track of everything). If you want to put together the crunch also, knock yourself out. I also want you to give me 4 things:

*A list of driving forces, aspirations and/or secret desires.

*An IC post to give me an idea of your role playing style. The more interesting the better. Include the IC post in the submission post and in your profile as shown below.

*Please submit everything in one post if at all possible. You may dot for interest but try to keep posting in the recruitment section to a minimum. Sorry but it will help me sort through everything. You may ask me any questions you want and I will get to it when I have the chance to do so.

*Please set your alias profile up as such: Profile Set-Up

Recruitment will be open until February 28th at 6:00pm est. I will then go through the submissions one final time and then make my decisions within a week of recruitment closure.

One final thing:
I would be very interested in playing an AP that Paizo has produced and would love to rotate chapters. As an example I would run RotR Chapter 1 and then someone could run Chapter 1 of another AP of the groups choosing. Then switch back to RotR. This would be the same players, I would just switch out with one of them. If interested please let me know in a PM. Thanks!

Definitely maybe, I will need to think.

Grand Lodge

I think I'm gonna conjure up something for this. I'd really like to actually get on one of these games at last. Let's see what I can concoct...

Quick query: Are archetypes of core classes okay, or would you prefer we stick to the base set?

Sczarni

I would be okay with archetypes from the APG only. I know all the material in most books and as a player would be fine with anything. However, as a newer GM I would prefer to only tackle Core rules right now with the exceptions of Archetypes and traits from APG.

Update:
*Archetypes and traits only from the APG

* Also if anyone would like to also post their PbP experience that would be fine. It is not a requirement though.

*Also after looking things over please do not play a PC with "dump stats" I do not mind if an ability score is low but only one below 8. If you do this please include the reason in your back story. Making a "stupid" character so you do not have to RP is not acceptable. Thanks!

Grand Lodge

Understandable, and probably a wise decision. I'm actually thinking a melee-oriented draconic scorerer, so I guess that renders my question moot. XP

I've got plenty of PbP experience under my belt, but sadly, most of the games I manage to snag a spot in always seem to go under. It's definitely a bit of a downer.

I am extremely interested. I just started a Carrion Crown pbp here and i foresee a strong need for a cleric/face. I'd happily let you in on a quid pro quo deal. It's under GM Fateweaver. Take a look. Here.

I'll get a character rolled up asap.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16, 2011 Top 32

Hmmm, I do love me Rise of the Runelords! I'm thinking of a transmutation specialist wizard drawn to Sandpoint because of intriguing rumors about ancient civilizations and magical artifacts. Probably human, though I may go elf on this one!

Silver Crusade

Sczarni

I wanted to add another bullet since after thinking it over I do not want it to be a surprise for anyone.

I am going to use a few house rules. I am not sure of all of them yet.
The one I know I am going with has to do with magic weapons/items. I found this searching threads one day and thought it was an interesting idea.

*Permanent magic items are user-specific. When the PCs loot an opponent, the opponent's permanent magic items become non-magical, but the PCs gain an amount of mana with a gp-value equal to the sales price of those permanent magic items. The PCs can spend their mana to upgrade their own magic items as if that mana was actual gp.
Any magic user will have the innate ability to transfer mana to weapons within the limit of their level. I will work out the details later.

This lets you upgrade magic items without all the "vendor trash".

This will not be true for specific magic items in the game. Also magic items will be harder to come by.

Definitely interested, need to think about a character

Just what ive been waiting for. RotR and core only sounds great. Will have something posted for tomorrow night.

Would like to run with a priest of Irori. Not sure if ill be using an archtype or not.

Silver Crusade

I will be submitting a paladin.

Here is Wildebob's submission. I'm still hoping for a quid pro quo thing here. I have the perfect story for your in, too, if you're up to that cleric we need.

Remy Deverin - a human rogue from the Deverin family. Thanks for considering me!

Submitting Marin Levere for your consideration, human archivist bard.

IC post:

"Well hi there, stranger!"
Marin looked up and smile when he saw his good friend Sarina. Finally, she's back. I wonder what stories she'll have this time.
He arched his eyebrow and said: "You call me stranger, yet I'm not the one who disappears for weeks and months at a time."
Sarina chuckled at this. "Fair point. Listen, I'd love to chat but I've got some scrolls here that I found in ruins a few weeks north of here. I think they are important but you know me, can't tell Thassilonian from Elven"

Marin picked up one of the scrolls and had a quick scan. "Well, first off, these are neither. Looks like Azlanti, but I'm not as familiar with it."
He looks at Sarina and smiles. "I'm going to need some time to translate these. Tell you what, I'll meet you later and tell you what I've found and you can tell me how you got these. Knowing you I'm sure it won't be boring."
"Sounds good to me. Usual place at sunset?", asked Sarina
"As always", said Marin, already gathering up the remaining scrolls.
"Well, I'll see you there then, stranger!" Sarina winked at him and walked off.

It has been a long time since I have been to the boards and a pbp but I will submit a character later today. Most likely a ranger or a fighter.

My goal is to take this through all five chapters. I cannot seem to get a RL game going. Now to be realistic there will probably be breaks or down time when RL happens with people but I will do my best to keep this up and running and I just ask the same from my players.

Kudos for your concept and your limitations. If I wasn´t already in a great RotR campaign I would definetly think of something. I think I will also follow this thread, if you do not mind.

Sczarni

Thank you. I really enjoy and appreciate the support on paizo. Most everyone is very accepting and understanding when people GM either for the first time or the hundredth time. I have no problem with anyone following the thread.

Color me interested! I've always been a fan of Runelords.

I've played in several campaigns, but most of those ended up getting disrupted by the dreaded Real Life.

Sczarni

Another Update: :-)

After careful consideration I do not want to limit the player applications. So instead of saying I would like players who have never played any part of the campaign before, I will say that as long as you have never finished RotRL you can apply.

Thanks!

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16, 2011 Top 32

Welp, I'm out. I've actually GM'd this twice now: once as a 3.5 campaign and once as a PF Anniversary game.

Sczarni

Thank you for the offer wildebob but I do not have the time to make a cleric right now. I am not even sure what character concept I would have. I also have submissions as a player in two other games right now and I would like to see if I get accepted. Thank you for the offer though.

I am very interested also. I would prefer a cleric, ranger, or druid. I will post asome ideas tomorrow. My profile has a bunch of my PbP characters. I also would be into swapping dm hats

So you want core rulebook only, butuse the Advanced Player's Guide for traits right?

Hmm... That's a toughie.

I've never played a barbarian before. I'd like to try that I guess.

Sczarni

Yes and you can use the APG for archetypes if you like.

I am working on Half-elven wizard Alarion meril. I have the IC up tomorrow. Using Hero lab for the character but haven't figured out how to add a campaign trait yet.

Dotting.

This is my alias, everything is there so please check it out :D

Alarion meril IC for Ravenoak

IC:
Alarion sat with his back against the tavern wall sipping his wine. He watched as the tavern door opened and his twinkled when his dour dwarf friend Thunor came through. Alarion snapped his fingers and flare of fire illuminated his features so his friend could find him.

[b] "Did you really have to do that?" asked Thunor.

Yes, I enjoyed the show didn't you?"

Thunor signaled for ale and said "Not really since I hate the attention"

They sat quietly when Alarion surveyed the tavern thinking of their predicament of a dungeon gone sour and very unhappy employer. As he opened hos mouth to say something the tavern slammed open and a pair of Half-Orcs came in looking for someone..probably them. Hisst! We have a problem.

We can take care of them, lets go."

Alarion pulled his sword and readied a spell as they approached the half orcs fighters.

Finishing up my alias tonight. link to it.

I would like to submit Alitsa Gratia, support cleric of Sarenrae. Her character sheet is finished and should be "core only", and I'm working on her fluff now. Full disclosure, I'm currently in a RotRL game, but we haven't finished the...

Spoiler:
Goblins during the Swallowtail Festival.

Additionally, that game looks to be in imminent danger of dying.

I'll have my background, personality, and the rest done in the next day or so.

EDIT: Will convert character sheet to what you want as well.

I have to admit that after applying for other games this is probably one for the fewest applicants I have seen lol.

As a newer GM is there anything I have done to make this not appealing for people in this AP recruitment or something that has turned people away?

Is it because many people have played this AP before or maybe because it is Core only? Just some simple thoughts for for my next AP after this.

Thank you to everyone who has applied thus far! I have skimmed some submissions so far and have a list up and going.

Rise of the runelords is easily the singularly most popular AP on these boards. It's rich and buttery in story and downtime which means almost anything you want to do can be done. I'm not sure why more people aren't interested in it, but frankly speaking, I'm not about to encourage them, because that's how badly I want in on this.

It could be the fact you want core only, but I don't know.

With that, I present to you; Lars, the Masked Goblin Watcher.

Lars:

Character Concept:
Lars is a run-of-the-mill Two Handed Fighter with a number of quirks outside of doing as much damage in one swing as he possibly can.

Along with being a powerful hitter, his addled mind which he gained from watching the goblins tinker has spurned a talent in the craft and creation of various things. When he tinkers with his equipment, it's almost trance-like as he makes things with his makeshift, yet masterwork, artisan's tools. Down the road he may become even better at this, to the point where he could possibly create magical items without even being a wizard at all, on accident no less.

In addition to all of this, Lars is known for being a sociopath, and while this is a hindrance at first he slowly acclimates. His eccentricity has caused him to speak goblin better than common, but that could prove rather helpful considering!

Background and History:

Lars is an eccentric enigma in the small area of sandpoint. His history is one of confusion and chance-happenings, and strange occurrences. Wild and somewhat random, yet, if one got to know him, it would actually make a bit of sense.

For starters, Lars can not, at all, remember a time before he was 8 years old. Whether this is from a traumatic experience, apathy, or because he's suppressed any thought before that, no one is sure. With this taken into consideration, let's start with when he was a very young boy, around the age of 12. Mind you, this takes place after he started to wander the city aimlessly out of curiosity.

At the ripe young age of 12, Lars had no parents to speak of, and was an orphan who'd been left among the city's inhabitants. The parents in question didn't have the stability to handle him, and as a result, did little to raise him beyond feeding him and allowing him to wander about. It was, however, in this wandering, that Lars discovered the far and away location of Junker's Edge.

The giant heap of debris in the area fantastically shone at him like some sort of giant, glittery nugget of gold in the young, curious child's eyes. Made even stranger, Lars, who couldn't speak a lick of common at the time due to mental blocks, strangely took well to the language of goblins as he watched them deal with each other among the heaps of debris. In as little as a year, he'd grasped the majority of the goblin language, having full conversations with the unruly creatures from the safety of his high-peak above. They were rude and obnoxious, and absolutely vile in their threats to his well-being. They even occasionally threw something (with increasing frequency) to stave him away from the horde of items as he gained interest in it.

Returning to his home and speaking the new garbled language after just his first visit concerned his nameless parents, and as he increased in the use of it they eventually removed him from their home, leaving the boy to fend for himself, as the family was impovished anyway.

Feeling hurt, and unwanted, Lars did the same thing he'd always done; which was wander the city. This time, however, he took to a different direction. At this point Lars knew full-well that copper was what brought food to the belly, but he had little idea of how anyone actually obtained that. It was on one of his expeditions that he came across the lumber mill, and in his filthy, hungered state, the overseer at the time felt the need to give him a job there.

Lars was a natural when it came to chopping wood, if there can be such a thing. He never complained, and he was paid on a daily basis as he had no money to speak of. His life was simple at that point. He would go to the lumber mill to work for hours, get paid in mediocre amounts of copper, and go use all of said money to feast at one of the local taverns. and then he'd go watch the goblins at Junker's.

The first time that Lars walked into the Rusty Dragon, people gave him strange looked when a filthy child with no attendant merely came in and asked for a meal, mindlessly placing down his money. After repeated pleas for food, and the raucous sound of hunger hitting the ears of everyone within 5 feet, they eventually agreed. This became a daily habit for him.

This sort of thing went on for years, and the strangeness only ripened his mind into more eccentricity. 7 years later, he's 19 years old. Lars has done that sort of thing for every single day of his life, with only a few hits and misses considering that in the middle of all of that, he took up crafting makeshift pieces of equipment from what little gear he could get his hands on. One day, when he'd fashioned a full suit of scale-mail which took him quite some time with only scraps, he proceeded down to junker's edge, picking up what can only be described as a slab of metal, and fleeing from the goblins with it.

The years of working the lumber mill and chopping wood, and studying the goblin's habits, as well as learning what was most valuable in a hoard of metal, had paid off. The following day he took to his own personal smithing area, and while he hadn't learned that a weapon required heat and whatnot to actually make a weapon, Lars fashioned the slab throughout the following weeks into a weapon of solid metal. While it was heavy, he had little trouble wielding it with 2 hands.

After some practice, he finally went down to junker's edge and began to grab at the real, truly valuable trinkets that even the keenest of goblins had missed, and any of them that would have tried to stop him were felled rather swiftly with the 4 foot long make-shift greatsword that he'd created.

After he made off with every valuable little piece of gear he was aware of within the edge, he took to the various shops and sold them for real gold. Some baubles were worth an entire day of work, and worse, some were worth weeks!

Among the rubble, he one day found a ceramic mask that hadn't been damaged. While it was intriguing, and worth a good 5 gold, he didn't sell it, strictly because he enjoyed wearing the strange thing. It also seemed to intimidate the goblins, which he enjoyed. Unfortunately the strange piece of equipment intimidated the people who lived in sandpoint as well, and seeing the strange, rust-covered man returning more and more often with strange, yet valuable objects alienated them for the majority.

Despite his domineering appearance, and his lean muscles that he'd developed, the Eccentricity had eventually alienated him from the average person, and in his gut the masked man could feel a sense of wonder brewing within him. What was beyond sandpoint? What other valuables could he find? What else could he make and craft? Just what on earth was beyond the city of sandpoint. The question would eat at him for quite some time, until the day of the festival...

Aspirations:

- Lars truly enjoys the company of others, but knows full well that he makes folks around him uncomfortable. He would like to rectify this, but lacks the charisma to do such a thing. Essentially he'd just like some friends.

-In addition to the above, Lars is intrigued with swordplay and crafting new, strange-looking, but functional weapons. He would like to pursue his talents in his craft and make even more wondrous, strange weapons if he could.

-Lars has lived his entire strange life in Sandpoint, scraping by until recently when he found that adventuring and risking his life earned him far more gold than being a lumberer. His sense of adventure is staggering, and even if he can't find a group, he'd likely risk his life going at it alone.

Appearance:

Standing at 5'11, lars is a reasonably tall human, but not exceptionally tall. His hair is a myriad of strange colors that he seemed interested in some time ago, and while it is mottled and obviously weird, he enjoys the colors, and what little beads he finds within junker's edge. A ceramic mask blocks his face, which, some believe is malformed. Others know this to be completely untrue as he removes it to eat and actually seems quite handsome, although, his issues with speaking properly alienate himself and ultimately hurt his interractions. In addition to all of this, Lars is rarely seen not wearing his metal, rusted scale mail that covers the majority of his torso. Oddly enough it doesn't cover his muscular arms. He wears crude, aged gloves that are worn with use, whether from a previous owner, or himself swinging a greatsword. Regardless, they always seem as if he could use new ones.
His appearance ultimately resembles the picture of my profile, which matches his Alias.

Religion:

While it's happened recently in his life, Lars did actually take the time to stop at a library and read books. It was the same librarian that taught him how to read and write at a rather late age. Regardless, he discovered a book, containing a deity that went by the name of "Brigh" and was supposedly, of all things, made entirely out of metal. While the religion itself never appealed to him, the idea of accidentally creating something with life absolutely washed over Lars, and only fed his creative nature. At the same time, he does follow her faith and ideals, even if it is unconsciously. He's well-known for dismantling things, as well. It's even got him in trouble a few times.

In Character Post:

Setting: The Rusty Dragon

It was like any other day within the rusty dragon, as Lars sat at the bar corner, a full 4 seats away from everyone else. His mask sat promptly atop his head as he scarfed down the delicious food that had been delivered promptly by Ameiko as soon as he arrived. It had become somewhat of a ritual for him to show up and eat, and he kind of enjoyed that.

Occasionally, in the corner of his eyes he could see people giving him awkward glares, throwing their hands up and obviously whispering to people near them, obviously asking questions. People that came through weren't used to him, and even people that had lived in sandpoint forever still stayed curious about his motives, but, frankly he was just enjoying a meal.

At the same time however, that wasn't what was really causing their confusion, he imagined. To his right, Lars had actually sat down the majority of his tools, which bulged out of the back of his backpack, yet held tightly within through a manner of ropes. Even his poor backpack had been altered... Regardless, he had been tinkering with what appeared to be a dagger with plenty of holes in it. It was akin to a Goblin Slicer of sorts, but for a normal sized person.

"Ameiko! Hole dagger!" he said as he raised it in the air. "Light. Feathery, yes?" he asked as he presented the uncovered hilt of the weapon to her. She kindly shook her head for a moment. While Ameiko had learned to appreciate the strange man, she was rather busy. Tilting his head, Lars, merely sat the weapon back down and understood her reasons. With that, he silently began to file down the insides of the fragile thing even more. "Fragile. Twisty... Light. Stabby stab, functional!" he said as he marveled at his newest weapon.

Frankly he couldn't wait to test it, but the real marvel in the present situation was his enormous greatsword that laid against the counter. Forged from a massive number of pounded rivets, half of a clock's gear, and a long sharp blade from a slab of steel, the weapon was truly rustic, rusted, and intimidating.

Finishing his meal, he slid the dishes across the counter, stood up, and promptly collected his things. Lifting the greatsword over his shoulder with his left hand, he adjusted his mask to cover his face, and then proceeded to leave the Inn as he gently tossed the dagger over and over again into the air, enjoying the near-weightlessness of his latest handiwork. "Gonna be good day~ Goblins gonna pay~ Gonna make money~ Gonna get money~ Gonna be a good day~" he somewhat sang as he teetered out of the tavern with a strange level of glee and pride in his new lifestyle.

Experience:
I've played plenty of games in play-by-post with varying degrees of success, and my longest standing one is Legacy of Fire with Leinathan as the DM. Second highest has been Wrath of the Righteous, but that very recently died. I have a lot of experience doing combat through Google Documents and it seems to be the very best way to do turn based combat. I can offer advice on how to do that if you'd like.

I should take the moment to point out that, while I know of the important starting NPC's of the AP, I have never played in the actual AP before. In addition, everyone and their mother has played this AP, which may be why your applicants are so low in number.

While ROTRL is super-popular, a lot of players don't like having their options restricted, so that's one issue. A larger one could be your timing. There've just been several Kingmakers started, a Skull and Shackles, Jade Regent, Carrion Crown, WOTR, three or four Giantslayers, and a bunch of 3rd Party/Homebrew games.

That being said, there's plenty of time still to get submissions in, and if some of the dotters come through, you'll have choices to make.

I suspect the limitation of never having played it before may be a big factor. Many may see that and not read on to see that you backtracked later. As was said, this one is hugely popular. Everyone's done something with it.

I think the trouble stems mostly from the restrictions. Alot of popular classes being removed from the equation tends to dampen peoples enthusiasm, especially since most people have that "one character" they have already made that they want to play.

I am myself looking at bringing a character out of retirement, a not too bright "lovable oaf" Barbarian name Hugo.

Thank you all for the responses. It all makes sense and I do truly appreciate everyone taking the time to submit characters.

I bought the Limited edition of the book, the leather bound version, and have wanted to run it for a RL table but have not been able to find a group that lasted longer than chapter one.

I can understand people wanting to play other options. For starting out though I wanted to make sure as a GM I was comfortable with the mechanics of the classes I knew the best. Not saying that later down the line I would discourage opening up other books, for multi-classing purposes, but to start I want to stick with core.

I've got my character almost rdy. Just need to write up some of the backstory and I'll have him rdy to be submitted.

As for Core only restrictions i say bring it on! you'll still get quality apps and that's what really matters.

Theres really not too much craziness out there and most of it is fairly straightforward when you get right down it.

The only real trouble imo is when people get into some really weird combos with multi-classing and feat interactions.

Admittedly I know the rules better than I care to admit so maybe im not the best to be an advocate of opening up more options.

Maybe do a case by case, where feats and archetypes and such are an option if run by you first? That would certainly take alot of the restriction off.

I will say that being the first time I have done a recruitment thread like this I am really enjoying the application process and the character backstories.

I for one like the core rule book only concept. Sure I have a bunch of builds i never tried but there is nothing like the clean, sleek basic rules to really make a player define themselves without a bunch of little rules tweaks.

I will have something up tomorrow as I am rethinking what I really would like to do.

I mean. My idea of character building usually goes as far as using 2 classes, and if that's what happens, I go for a prestige class. Being a duelist is nice, you know. On the other hand, I just like having a fighter with feint and combat expertise who can deal sneak attack damage with a few rogue levels, but making that into a duelist is the idea, isn't it? Frankly speaking Lars isn't going to do any of that, and is most likely going to stay straight fighter if he can help it.

I love the core rule concept. It actually makes it simpler for me know what all the other characters may be able to do in the game.

I am glad there is not that many applicants, since I really want to do this one and never had the chance. I always seem to be the DM instead. I would mind running a AP concurrently with this one.

Just a note for those picked. I will be introducing a few house rules before we start. I have recently read through other AP posts and the like finding ideas to run a little smoother. But whatever I set in the beginning is what we will stay with unless we vote on something as a group.

Varrian Lunari,

I'm sorry to be coming in on like post forty or fifty, but I absolutely want to be able to participate in a RotRL campaign, I have slight experience (less than the first encounter), but not really that much.

My character is fully made and listed under this Alias, I think he complies with all rules. I will be going back over his character with a fine tooth comb to see if he completely fits.

Please consider this character for your campaign if it is not too late.
