Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

The Mite can speak, but in a language you can't understand.

"કૃપા કરીને મને જવા દો. મા બોડ પર આધારિત છે મારા મિત્રો છે. અમે મનુષ્ય પર હુમલો નથી. એકલા અમને છોડી કૃપા કરીને."

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

You tie the mite to a rock, and prepare to enter the Old Sycamore... but you son't see any "entrance".

Please roll a Perception DC 20 Roll.

Human Cleric 2 HP 15/15: AC 17:Tch 12: FF 15: Fort +3: Ref +2: W +6: Perc +9

Salereon, can you please knock the beast out? We'll take him to the kobolds afterward to answer for his crimes.

perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

GM, when it comes to group rolls like this, and I can only speak for myself, please roll for me. I'd hate for my inability to post frequently to slow the game. This goes for perception or knowledge or init or what-have-you

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Strangely you are the most frequent poster, so I don't think you need to worry. But you have a point.

Garren is able to find a very small and somewhat hidden entrance. It's a hole between the tangled roots, and you think you will be barely have to fit there. The tunnel is really small, too, and you think you won't be able to move confotably in there.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

In what order do you enter?

Do you enter?

Vital Stats/Skills:

Garion would want to enter, but he would watch the back of the group. He would have his bow drawn and at the ready as everyone went in.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Won't be space for using the bow in there, as the space is too cramped

Human Cleric 2 HP 15/15: AC 17:Tch 12: FF 15: Fort +3: Ref +2: W +6: Perc +9

Garren hefts his axe for a moment and looks to Garion. A pair of archers leave their bows and crawl into a hole in the earth... His tone carries as if he's starting a joke.

This should be fun...

He looks to Rupert. Can you guard the entrance in case any flee while we are inside?

I was just watching their back as we go inside, I was planning on putting my bow away once inside. I still wanted the tail end of the group because I have high perception and survival just in case something tries to creep on us.

Once the group gets in Garion puts his bow away and unsheathes his dagger, keeping his ears open for any sort of suspicious noises.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 (+2 vs Humans)

Human Cleric 2 HP 15/15: AC 17:Tch 12: FF 15: Fort +3: Ref +2: W +6: Perc +9

I was mistaken, Garren has a sickle, not an axe

Garren follows Salereon into the hole, just behind him is Veroca with Garion taking up the tail. He keeps his eyes wide and trusts in his other senses as well.

If needed, he will light and carry a torch so the party can see.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

GM: let me know if Garren's carrying a torch.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Rupert stays outside, guarding the entrance and keeping an eye on the tied up Mite prisoner.

Inside the entrance there is a small tunnel in the roots and branches, some 5' tall and dark (Garren illuminates with his torch). After some 10' there is a drop into the deeps, some 30' down, very dark. There are roots all around, and the drop is small, so it doesn't seem to hard to get down (Climb DC 5).

Garion, on the back, with his exception elven hear, is able to hear some noises, hideous mites voices, and a very faint strange mechanical sound, like a small slingshot being fired repetitively, down in the darkness.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

The heroes stop in place, while hearing some tiny laughs from down the pits, intermixed with the mechanical sound.

"Wait, does anyone else here that? It sounds like voices... and something else. I don't know what that is." Garion holds his dagger out as he creeps forward towards the noise, listening for any sign of enemies.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Liberty's Edge

He peaks on the pit, but he is unable to find out the number of mites down there.

To climb down a make a Climb DC 5 check

Vital Stats/Skills:
HP: 19/19, - AC: 16/T: 13/FF: 13 – Perception +8 (+10 vs. humans) - Initiative: +5 - F: +4 / R: +6/ W: +1 - CMB: +4 - CMD: 17, Speed: 30

"Ok, I'm going down. Keep an eye out for me."

Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Uh-oh...

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Garion grabs an branch to start the climb down, which proceeds to detach itself from the tangle it was on and remain on Garion's hand all the way down to the bottom of the pit.

Garion Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

The loud "plop" a pair of seconds after let the rest of the party know that he didn't go down smoothly, even as the tangle of roots and dead branches break his fall somewhat.

Falling Damage Lethal: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Falling Damage Non-Lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Falling prone, Garion quickly asses his situation. Ceiling height of the tunnels inside the tree is rarely over 5 feet high, with much of the upper foot a tangle of roots and thin stalactites.

While in these caves you are forced to stoop over or adjust the swing of their weapons, and suffer a –2 penalty on all attack rolls made within the lair as a result.

Three crude, wooden workbenches occupy the center of this room, their tops strewn with various tiny tools, metal and wooden hardware, and blocks of wood.

But what really catches his eye are two mites. One of them shrieks and charges against him, while the other uses a small contraption (like a tiny catapult) to throw something towards him.

Charging Mite Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Charging Mite Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Tiny Catapult Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 5

The charging mite small dagger lodges itself in Garion's thigh, drawing a small amount of blood, and making both mites laugh (or something similar) and the charging one scream:

"હું આ મોટા મૂક માનવ માલિકીની હશે"

The other mites tossing attack fails to connect.

Ok, surprise round over, your turn to act.

Oh man...

Garion quickly unsheathes his dagger and reaches for the nearest mite.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Yelling up to his fellow travelers, "A little help down here would be nice!"

Male Human Cavalier 2, HP 22, Int +2, AC19, F/R/W +6, +2, -1

I knew it was a good idea to invest in climb. *Dumb question, how do you get the words to be green?

Salereon grabs a branch and begins to descend, focusing more on speed that safety. If it comes to it, Salereon would rather let go and fall the rest of the way than wait another round to climb down.
climb1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 4 = 9Hmm, this could hurt.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Garion surprises the mite stabbing at his midsection from the floor, cutting him down. Now that he is able to attack them hand to hand notices they have some kind of resistance, as his Dagger didn't cut as deeply as it should. But enough to kill the mite, anyway.

A second later Salereon comes down, having climb down with ease.

The second mite, alarmed fires his small contraption at Salereon, the bigger target at the moment.

Mite Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 10

He smiles hideously when the small iron caltrop hits Salereon in the cheek, piercing his skin and making a drop of blood appear...

... Just to change to a scared face when he sees the minimal effect it had on the human.

He drops of his contraption, turns around and flees to a tunnel behind him.

Scanning the room Salereon and Garion see there are in the middle of this room like space, with exits at opposite sides.

Male Human Cavalier 2, HP 22, Int +2, AC19, F/R/W +6, +2, -1

Did the attack deal damage?

Salereon rushes, as much as the low ceiling and encumbering armor allow, after the fleeing mite.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

No. Damage. Whatsoever.

Salereon reach the mite as it is climbing down yet another pit, screaming:

"મને મદદ! માનવ! કુલ ડીંગ દાંત માર્યાગયા!"

Same drill, Climb DC 5 to get down. But is dark down there.

From the pit darkness you hear laughter, from several mites you would say, as well as high-pitched cries of terror.

Male Human Cavalier 2, HP 22, Int +2, AC19, F/R/W +6, +2, -1

Hearing the additional voices, Salereon rejoins Garion and waits for the others. Something tells me charging into a room I can't see with multiple enemies would be bad.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

Salereon goes back to his friends, all now safely in the first room, next to the dead mite.

From the side where the other mite escape noises start to get louder. Seems the mites are preparing to defend their territory.

Male Human Cavalier 2, HP 22, Int +2, AC19, F/R/W +6, +2, -1

Get down here my brave companions.

Liberty's Edge

Kingmaker Exploration Map

You start to hear more shrieking voices from the pit where the mite escaped...

Suddenly a small blue hands appears on the border of the pit.

They have arrived.
