With the donkey and the list Aeden provided, the total, minus the acid, is 667 Gp and 5 Sp. The party will need to decide how much acid to carry, as it's an expendable resource. If I may, several Healing Kits seems like a good addition to the list.

Healing kits run 50 gp a pop for ten uses. A boline (10 gp) lets you use a healing kit to treat deadly wounds with 1 use of the kit instead of 2, so we should toss one of those in.

Just to clarify for me, who is handling the party purse?
Goldus took the Rich parents trait so has 325 knocking about before the goblin loot was divided/sold so if there is something we need he can probably stretch to it.

So the occultist isn’t in the epic handbook you provided so I’ve tried to work out what would happen.

His mental focus points is Int+Cha+Level so would go up with level.

He gains an implement at every 4th level so he’d get one at 24 and 28.

He’d continue to gain focus powers at odd levels.

He’s get Bard 2/3rds casting so would gain 7th Level Spell slots at 21st, 8th at 24th and 9th at 27th and so on.

Occultists spell progression works on implements not spells known with level but he’d gain spells known when gained implements.

Now I know you’ve decided he has to make that epic spell with the sound damage. I was wondering if instead he could make it an epic focus powers, using the ones he gians at 21,23,25,27,29. Since he wouldn’t get 10th Level spells till level 30.

The archetype he took also grants bonus spells per day at 8,12 and 16. But not 20 don’t know if you think that should advance further.
He also gains a DC boost of 2 in 16, I wondering if that could increase by 1 more at 24? Since otherwise I do think his DC’s will fall behind what a full caster would have. That is the point of the archetype after all.

I figure he should get 1 prowess per 2 levels like other classes on his chassis. Not that it matters all to much since he won’t be full attacking.


Sounds good. We can playtest that later if you'd like. Once we get it working well, we'll gather the notes and send it to the author.


So how do we advance the game now?


Once everyone decides that the supply list is adequate, the party heads out. Bear in mind that this is Gear only. There is no spare change. Spend the total allotment.


So does anyone have a consolidated list?


What the party came up with so far is at the bottom of page 6.

In all seriousness though, I’m happy with the suggested list.


Don't forget the expendable supplies, like ammunition, alchemical supplies, healing kits, and so on. Who knows what you'll run into

Ok, so in addition to the prior list:

Healer's kits, 2 (50 gp ea.)
Boline (10 gp)

Leaves 562 gp 9 sp.

This is a lot of money for mundane gear, so I would recommend that our archers pick up a lot of durable arrows (1 gp each, or 2 for cold iron) as they are reusable.

We might as well pick up 10 acid and 10 alchemist's fire (300 gp total).

That would leave us at 262 gp 9 sp for extra stuff.


Tents and bedding? Or sleeping outside?

I already have a bedroll for travel. If the party wants to get tents we can do that too (probably should get another pack mule at that point).

So, that makes four tents (Jared, Flouncy, Dexter, and Aeden) and three bedrolls (Jared, Dexter, and Flouncy) costing 40 Gp and 3 Sp. Leaving 222 Gp and 6 Sp

Is anybody good with a bow? Flouncy asks. We could buy a pretty nice one, maybe some arrows? I can shoot a bow, but not a big one. Hardly worth it for me.

I have no archery skills, but I have no objection to you getting a small shortbow. Most rogue damage comes from sneak attacks anyway, rather than the weapon's base damage.

That would be seventeen flasks of acid for 170 Gp, leaving 7 Gp and 6 Sp.

Sounds good. At 1st level, we're as likely to hurt ourselves as our enemies, but it's all good fun. Just chuck it before we close.

Flouncy has good dex, so he'll take a few.


Goldus has no BAB small size and Dex12 so probably not the best acid delivery mechanism, but he could take a couple. Cause he like... no damage at all.


True, but he has a +1 ranged bonus, which is decent for a first-level character. And don't forget splash effects.

If you need handle animal I could drop dungeoneering, but with 9 Cha I can just imagine how it's going to sound like.

Dungeoneering will be fine. I believe in making adventures around the PCs, not forcing the PCs to fit.

Hey John has Goldus completed his long rest at this point in the night?

If so his mental focus points would not be distributed and he would not be distributed and so he would have no focus powers and spell casting would require a DC20+ spell level concentration check.

I don’t mind either way I just need to know.


No. It is the fifth hour, you and Jared have been off for one. We can postpone the next day's leg until all spellcasters are ready.
