I'll work out the room details tomorrow, on my day off.

Goldus follows Jared.

Flouncy opens the lock, revealing a dark hallway.

Those with Darkvision see:
There are several doors about 30 feet ahead.

Nothing. The door is locked. Flouncy will have to open it.

There are no traps that you can see, Flouncy. Aeden sees drops of blood here and there, probably centuries old.

Aeden, make a Perception check.
Tassadar, you don't see any traps.

With the stairwell clear, the party lights torches and goes down into the dark.

At the bottom, they find themselves in a 15' by 15' room with a single door in the center of the opposite wall.

I never left. Just busy on my mid-week day off.

I'm sure he does. :D

About five minutes of work leaves the staircase mostly free of debris.

You find no obvious traps. But you do see some piles of loose stones that could cause problems.

Until Chromantic Durgeon <3 returns to the game, I'll "bot" Goldus.

There are plenty of sticks available.

1-30: Yes, 31-100: No
1d100 ⇒ 55

No, it doesn't.

There are no light sources. Those without Darkvision will have to use torches.

The rest of the party follows.

Tasslefoot is calm.

Tassadar: Nothing has been by here recently.
Flouncy: You find spiral stone stairs descending into the ground, moderately choked by rubble and debris ( Broken Terrain ).

So, after several more hours of following the trail, the party comes to a large clearing, at the center of which are the ruins of a moderately-sized castle.

Should be ready by Monday.

A multi-level dungeon/ruin.

Yeah. We'll pick up again in a few hours, after I get to work.

And, plastic blades can break.

... So that I can start going through sword-fighting exercises. Because using a real sword will get you some strange looks from the police. And, being a GM takes up much of my time.

I don't cosplay, unless it's as a Security Guard with a pissed-off expression. I work in the RPG department, running the same game I've been running for the past several years.

After Sunday. Saturday and Sunday I'm volunteering for Tekko, an anime convention here in Pittsburgh.

:D Something like that.

Well then, Goldus will just fall into an extra-dimensional time-stopped space until Chromantic shows up again. So, now we've got a classic (more or less) four character party. A fighter ( Ranger ), a Rogue, a Cleric, and a Wizard ( Magus ). We'll get things moving along shortly.

Chromantic may no longer be interested in playing.

Now that Flouncy has brought notice to the ring, does anyone want to use Detect Magic?

Detect Magic:
The ring's bonus is of the Abjuration School

Spellcraft DC 16:
The ring is a +1 Ring of Protection

Goldus - Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

:D :D :D

There's a monster hereabouts that likes to eat posts.

Everyone roll Perception.

DC 20:
A ring on one of Goldus' fingers bears the Holy Symbol of Aurora Starshine.

Getting close the the end of the current assignment.

We'll wait and see what Goldus and Aeden have to say.

Mort's running a PbP, trying to finish up Strange Aeons.

Goldus, one of your fingers feels a little more heavy.

Goldus, the ring you placed on Dexter isn't there, nor is it in the general area.

Tasslefoot sniffs the meat, then begins batting at it as if it were a toy.

Tassadar - Many bears have toxic levels of Vitamin A in their liver.

Round 2

Jared swings his quarterstaff at the bear, hitting.
Flouncy shoots his crossbow at the bear, missing.
Aeden examines Dexter.
Goldus casts Cloud Mind at bear. The bear is staggered.
The Black Bear moves towards Tasslefoot.
Tassadar swings his Glaive at the bear, missing.
Tasslefoot bites at the bear, missing. Swipes a claw at the bear, hitting. Swipes a second claw at the bear, hitting. The bear falls and is dying.

Aeden:
Dexter is dead. His throat has been ripped out.

Bear - Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Aeden - Once you reach Dexter, make a DC 10 Heal check.

Round 1

Jared swings his quarterstaff at the bear, missing.
Flouncy loads his crossbow.
Aeden shoots a Fire Bolt at the bear, missing.
Dexter swings his sledgehammer at the bear, hitting solidly.
Goldus shoots an Energy Ray at the bear, missing.
The bear claws at Dexter, hitting. It claws again, hitting savagely, and bites, hitting. Dexter falls.
Tassasdar swings his glaive at the bear, missing.
Tasslefoot bites the bear, grabbing it. He rakes the bear with two hind claws, hitting both times.

Post your round 2 actions.

So, then, round 1 will be move and load. Round 2 will be shooting?

Question for Flouncy. Do you always travel with a loaded crossbow?

I forgot to add Dexter's +10 initiative bonus. It is 13.

Dexter swings sledgehammer at bear. Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22, Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
