Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Next turn, if everyone delays, Tal can dismiss the fog, and we can see the map again and take our actions. Of course, if you manage to see the goblins before that, feel free to attack if desired.

Feedback - This is a really bad way to run obscuring mist for PBF. It's really good for face to face, but we're going to have to do a lot of "wait on the GM to answer player 1's questions" with the incomplete information about where stuff is. Instead of having the player be able to post completely what they do and the rest of us react accordingly.
Right now Tal is wandering forward to find a hob - but if she wanders into the spellcaster instead, she could yell out before the next person in initiative comes up.
DM's game, DM's rules and I'm cool with it. It's going to slow the game to a crawl every time it comes up though.
Anyone have a good solution?

Zelligar the Mystic |

I agree it is a concern.
I would suggest not using Obscuring Mist and fog spells (at least until we all have Goz masks). That's my preferred option. But Tal'ariel seems to have that as one of her best defensive options (fully banned from using, say, Vanish) so maybe see if she is willing to rebuild that aspect?
Or there's being patient, but a slow pace can kill a PbP.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Sorry for causing the slowdown - this isn't something Tal'ariel will do that often. It was a response to a particular situation with the newly arrived archers. I'll avoid using it in the future unless I think it's absolutely necessary.
As I suggested, everyone should just move where they want to this round. Next round Tal dismisses the fog and everyone else gets to take their turn with normal visibility.
I think a map update showing where the party members are would be useful.

I normally wouldn't run it like this, except you obscured *all* the enemies at once.
Still, your opinion has been noted, and I might change my way of doing it in the future.
For now, here's a map detailing what you can all see:
Map.
Is anyone in a position they think is wrong?

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Tal'ariel moved 6 squares south of her current position on the map.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

How far are we from town? Might help in the decision of where to go next.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Are you open to an application from us for the Slumbering Tsar game you're recruiting? I'm interested but totally understand if you want fresh blood.

Yes, you're completely free to apply. I won't make you being in this game affect your chances either way.

Bran O'Dimm |

Just to confirm I have no issue with Infernal Healing, though Bran has had some bad Cheliax related memories.

Zelligar the Mystic |

Zelligar's issue with Infernal Healing is a result of the spell's origins, and the role of Asmodeus in the setting and the lore. He doesn't think using the spell is prudent or wise. He doesn't care about it being "evil".
He is more than happy to use healing on anybody else who is injured. He has spells, channeling, and wand.
Also, should note: he can prepare any cleric spell in an open slot 1/day as a standard action (Magical Epiphany feat). He leaves one of his highest-level slots open for this purpose. So if there is any 1st or 2nd level spell you think would be useful for a plan, he can prepare it, and I am happy to take suggestions. Zone of Truth for interrogating our prisoner?

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

More than happy to accept healing! Though she's not about to give up her wand altogether.
Zone of Truth could work, though I think the real trick is persuading the leader to talk at all. I'm guessing Yulai is the charismatic one among us?

Yulai Sakura |

Diplomacy +10 if you want to ask questions backed by the dice, but I'll be out of pocket tomorrow doing toddler birthday things so feel free to do it without me if he wakes up and I'm not around.

Bran O'Dimm |

Just going to mention, I will be slow going this long weekend.
I'll definitely be up to date though, but I have family commitments first and foremost.
Have a good one!

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Okay, there's now a Loot Table linked to my profile.
@Ierox, is there any additional loot we're able to scrounge from the dead hobgoblins or the camp?

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Thanks! The Loot Table is updated with various items. Let me know if there's anything I missed.

Bran O'Dimm |

A sticky situation and I apologize for putting us into a prisoner problem right off the bat.
@Tal: Can the loot table be set to viewable with the link? If not I can request access otherwise.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Whoops! I think I fixed the link. Should now be viewable and editable.

Bran O'Dimm |

Yep it works!
Also I may take a bunch of arrows, I forgot to buy mundane ones.
Don't tell anyone

Yulai Sakura |

It's as much my fault as yours for playing the class with the loosely defined RP requirement. At least half the reason I like chosen one is not having to be a turbocharged authority on morality as a paladin.
Anyways, turn over goblin to authorities, move along.

Zelligar the Mystic |

I think paladins and their RP constraints are generally an asset to the kind of stories I like to be a part of. While Zelligar himself is not particularly virtuous, he'll try to avoid doing anything that would endanger Yulai's standing, and he won't pull the "have the paladin leave the room" BS.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Okay, loot management time. Who wants the Kukri +1 we got from the hobgoblin leader? Or should we try to sell it / transfer enchantment? I'm not sure who in the party has great use of it.
Anyone else want a Masterwork Composite Longbow before they go? I'm guessing not, but thought I'd ask.
I propose we keep most of the wine for now, maybe store it in our room, unless we find something worth buying in exchange.
Everything else is pretty mundane loot.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

It's just +1 Str. I imagine you have better.
*Edit* - assuming we sell everything except the "hundreds of arrows" (which we can just keep to avoid tracking arrows in the future), it's 3,933.5 gold to spend.
@Red DM of Doom - is there any service we can purchase to advantageously transfer enchantment from the kukris to other masterwork weapons? Or do we need to just sell the weapons?

Iris Farthingstone |

I propose that we sell the cheaper wine, for which we can receive a fair price, and keep the more expensive wine either for our own consumption or for sale in a more affluent market.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Forgot about the cheap wine. New total is 4,133.5. Everyone gets 688.91 to spend. This doesn't include the 1,000 line of credit, which I think should go into a communal fund to detect invisible creatures.
Question--can Isawa cast Glitterdust? If so, maybe we don't need the detect invisibility.

Zelligar the Mystic |

Glitterdust isn't a very large area, you have to know where to target it. That's why Zelligar was thinking of a scroll of each (for Isawa or Tal'ariel to use). First spot the caster, then make him visible.
Invisibility Purge is the other option. Five minutes of a 25' radius of Invisibility suppression around Zelligar.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

We can do Glitterdust x2, See Invisibility x2, Invisibility Purge x1. That's 975 gp and gives us a lot of flexibility in terms of who's casting what. If there's a helpful 1st level spell someone knows of, we can buy that with the last 25 gp. If we end up not using some of the arcane scrolls, Tal'ariel can buy one of each from the group and add them to her spellbook when we hit level 6.

Bran O'Dimm |

I agree with the invisibility issue as well. I can't contribute much to any UMD, so just point me to the target and we are good to go.

Yulai Sakura |

Yulai can help smooth the way on selling things by being polite, comfortable, and competent with weapons, but she's not a merchant. So someone else would have to haggle if it came to that. She'd know more about the bow than the knives.

Tal'ariel Rhuidon |

Reminder to anyone who needs it, please add 688.91 gold to your inventory. The way I track loot, once a distribution is made, I will start a new loot sheet. Which means responsibility for tracking the already-distributed loot turns to you.
