Looks like we know now, since Bran can read the papers! It's Day 2. That gives us some time.

Any more questions for the bugbear? If we're going to go back to the bridge and try to free some prisoners, I recommend we finish off the bugbear. Too risky to enter another fight with him still alive.

I can agree with that, he's done some murder and we have been deputized by the law. I don't think Bran would have an issue with it after the current events (though he won't agree to torture or a painful death).

Zelligar is fine with killing the bugbear.
He thought maybe the town mage would want a chance to question him, but if it isn't feasible, then no problem. It's not like the bugbear surrendered in good faith (we knocked him out), nor did we gave our word he wouldn't be harmed.

He was at very low HP and didn't get any rest and is tied up; a CdG from Tal'ariel would do it. Zelligar will make sure to take the head with us so the enemy cannot use Speak With Dead on the corpse.


Iris is a vicious little thing, isn't she?

Speaking of Iris, did she pick up Debilitating Injury at 5th level? Isn't on the sheet, but it's a nice option to have.

Bran chokes the dragon out - at least, that's Zelligar's plan. That would be awesome.

While Bran's warrior pride might prefer to tackle the dragon without Bless, Enlarge, Fly, Resist Energy, and Barkskin, he's a smart enough man to welcome the assistance, I think.

Had we time to prep spells accordingly, Zelligar would also have Bull's Strength and Prayer.

Anyone have a way to get Bran invisible? One can always hope to CDG the dragon. (Sadly, my throwback wizard archetype means I straight up can't cast illusion/evocation spells, even from a scroll or wand.)

Dedicated Adversary is hard to beat, I think. A +2 to grapple the dragon will likely be quite important. Unless anything else gives a bigger bonus.

With Bless, Enlarge, and Rage, that could get you up to +19? And Bran can grapple on a charge due to his Constable archetype, for +21, though that would penalize his CMD for a round.
Don't know its CMD but that's pretty good.

We have only the one Fly spell, so I think our strategy has to depend on making Bran able to solo the dragon. We can't count on being able to flank or aid another, unless he can drag it down to the ground.

If we're lucky, maybe Iris can convince the dragon to fly to investigate, and then we intercept it while he's away from his allies. Or maybe he just flies away and we do our rescue. Or maybe Iris gets eaten as a snack. So many possibilities.


I'm in favor of the eating thing. It sounds like fun.

For our new members, if you're on the same initiative "step" as someone else, you act in order of posting within that step. So when we get to step 3, even though Dai beat Bran in initiative, whoever posts first still gets to act first, as you're on the same side. It's just to speed up combat a little bit.

Not much to do here, seems to be a little further than expected.
I suppose I can gain some height to get to a more even footing.

How high is the top of the bluff here and would I be able to stealthily make my way up? If not I can move like normal, perhaps I can draw it away from our nice cone of allies here.

I didn't think we would be lucky enough to have all of our Stealth checks beat its Perception. I guessed someone would roll low. At least we got it far away from its martial support.

I'm going to be on the road for the next couple of hours, hopefully this is a decent enough play. We're both too far to engage each other but someone has to move eventually... I hope.

3-D combat is a pain to run. The dragon is faster than you, but you are more maneuverable (and don't have to make Fly checks when you take damage or collide with something).

Hopefully it won't spend too much time on Flyby Attack strafing. But if it does, you can ready to move into its path to block its movement.


This is sort of what the cage looks like, for context.

Edit: Except of course it hasn't got those convenient hinges and the latch that allows for easy opening.


50ft. is plenty to clear the peak shown on the map, by the way.


Re: Dai - the bars are fit too close together for you to squeeze through. You'll have to break at least two bars to get out of there. Either way, you pretty much spent your turn's worth of actions already (draw hidden weapon + cut Lavinia's bonds + give her the dagger)

Re: Lavinia - Dai just cut the ropes that tie your wrists together. You can easily remove the gag by yourself. Let's call it a move action.

Raging Grappler Rage Power. Allows you to deal damage as through you succeeded a Grapple when you start the Grapple, and only on start. Its not really Constrict as you don't get it every time you succeed a check... because that would be obscene.

Oh boy, I need to Hover too on my coming turn unless I move us with a successful Grapple. I didn't think this far ahead; let the Hover Wars begin.
