Belle PBP |

"If only we had Magnus. He would have fried the lot with those burning hands of his. Anyone have any alchemist's fire? That might do the trick! Or I could summon an unseen servant to see it all to the side. But if this stuff is alive a fire would be better."

Agyen the Eternal |

Know: dungeoneering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
"That is green slime, a powerful acid capable of dissolving organic matter as well as metal. It's also very sticky, so be very careful. It was likely what killed these creatures.

Belle PBP |

"Is it alive? I mean, is it able to move or does it just sit there? And can it be burned?"

Garrosh Saurfang |

It seems these are 'remains' of green slime correct? Not A green slime, is it?
Garrosh looks around, trying to find what may have left those remains there.
Take 20 for a 29?

GM Hands of Fate |

Green slime is not a creature, it is a hazard, like poison ivy. One does not encounter "a poison ivy". Even a small bit is dangerous. Unlike other oozes, it is not mobile, other than the fact that it sometimes grows on the ceiling and drops on those who pass underneath. Cold, fire and sunlight will kill it.
Garrosh looks around and is unable to find what may have milled the creatures whose bones lie before you. He is fairly certain that the green slime is isolated to the one spot, and that it isn't on the ceiling.
Tony looks at the crowbar on the ground and is horrified to see at least half of it has been dissolved in the slime.

Garrosh Saurfang |

"I'm gonna assume there's nothing left on that pile Tony?" - Garrosh nods - "Shall we go on?"

GM Hands of Fate |

forgot something
As Garrosh slowly and carefully examines the room, he sees something glittering in the far corner, to the right of the door.

Garrosh Saurfang |

"Or maybe not just yet" - the half-orc smiles - "Maybe that corner deserves a check" - he winks at Tony.

GM Hands of Fate |

Guess I shoudl have just gone for it...sorry, a but under the weather, and swamped with work.
Convinced that the green slime is isolated to the other side of the room, Garrosh moves to the corner, and pokes through the bones, revealing a handful of copper coins, twenty-two in all.
Agyen and Belle scan the door and the surroundings for magical aurae, revealing none. Tony checks for traps, finding none. The door is unlocked and there is no noise from the other side of the door.
[/ooc]22 cp has been added to the loot sheet. Do you wish to go through the door, or backtrack and check the open passage behind you?[/ooc]

Garrosh Saurfang |

If no traps are found, then one of the meat shields should open the door ;) This time it'll be me to move things along.
Garrosh nods at the others, confirming they are ready, then pushes the door open to peer over to the next area.

GM Hands of Fate |

The hallway on the other side of the door is of worked stone, and extends to the limit of Reynaud's light source, dimly illuminating another door. Proceeding with caution, no traps, magical or otherwise are detected, the door is unlocked, and there are no sounds from the other side. Garrosh and Reynaud rush into the room, prepared for anything, with Brodin and Tony behind them. Agyen and Belle stay back in the hall.
The room is of worked stone. A staircase descends into darkness down a hallway to the northeast, while another rough opening gapes in the southwest corner. Similar to the whole in the other room, you would need to crawl through this hole, and it would be a squeeze for all of you. The horrid stench has returned, this time mingled with the smell of rodent waste.
In the center of the room is a wooden casket, that appears as if it once had ornate decorations on it, but they have all been removed. Two rotten red carpets lay on the floor, and a couple broken candleabras lay in the corners of the room.
Once Garrosh and Reynaud are sure there is nothing animate in the room, Belle and Agyen come forward to examine the items. They do not detect any magical aurae, and Tony does not detect any traps around or on the coffin.
If you would like to open the coffin, I will wait until everyone has had a chance to place their token where they want to.

![]() |

I can't seem to move myself. If I am able to get an unimpeded view of the casket from where I am I'll stay put, if not I'll step 5' forward inside the room. At the moment it's showing the door as blocking my view, but that may be just to show which way it opens.

Tony Tanner |

All set up map wise. And ready to go.
Tony laments his loss of Becky the Crowbar. She always knew how to let herself in.
Moving into the next room, and finding another suspicious coffin; Tony does his thing before finding a nice cozy position to take a pot shot from with his crossbow.
"So who wants to roll the dice on this one? Argyn, Did you get any reading from it?

Garrosh Saurfang |

I will open it, but will wait to know if Agyen is going to do some of his 'mojo' or not.

GM Hands of Fate |

From Tony's position, he can see down the stairs into what appears to be another room, most of which is littered with broken wooden furniture, but he can make out the edge of what looks like a table.
Brodin, you should be good. The door can be opened more if you want to stand in the door. I don' t know enough about psychics to DMPC. I'll take a look if I get time today and see what I can figure out if he doesn't post.

Agyen the Eternal |

"Unfortunately I lack sufficient psychic energy to perform another reading at this time."
I'm not out of psychic spells, but I am out of psychic energy for my racial reborn magic, which is where object reading comes from, and I've already used my regular psychometry skill unlock today.

GM Hands of Fate |

With only the assurance that the coffin is not trapped and ther eare no active magic aurae, Garrosh opens it, revealing....nothing.
Frustrated so far with the 'danger' of this place, yopu move toward the stairs. Tony takes point, and as he descends the stairs, he notices something odd about the third step from the bottom. Taking a closer look, it appears that the surface of the stair is intended to break away when a significant weight is placed upon it, most likely exposing the foot falling through it to some unpleasantness beneath. He calls out, "Watch the third step from the bottom, or you are in for some unpleasantness."
A familiar squeaking sound causes him to look up. The room is a shambles of broken furniture, but in the center stands a wooden table and a chair. A skeleton sits in the chair, it's entire surface crawling with red ants the size of your pinky finger. A ragged deck of cards sits in the center of the table.
The squeaking sound comes from the dire rats outside the far exit to the room. From Tony's vantage point, he can see two rats and what is obviously a wererat in hybrid form, dressed in leather armor and bearing a shortsword.

Belle PBP |

"Looks like a swarm of ants. Doe anyone have a spell or something that can deal with a swarm now that Magnus is gone?"

![]() |

Brodin shrugs.
"I got some oil we can set alight, but nothing better. Wizards do have their uses occasionally."
He pulls out his bow, sights and looses in one smooth, fluid motion
aiming at the nearest rat
comp. longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
damage if hits: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Tony Tanner |

Tony raises his crossbow for a quick shot at the wererat. He drops the crossbow to the side and gets ready to draw daggers.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
DMG: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Well that's wide

Garrosh Saurfang |

"Nah, push forward" - Garrosh growls, moving forward to meet their opponents, bardiche at the ready - "Come get some!"
Clearly fishing for some AoOs ;)
Using Combat Expertise and Power Attack (AC22, +9 to hit and +10 to damage) in case there are any AOO and you want to roll them HoF :D
Position updated on Roll20.

GM Hands of Fate |

Brodin takes a step forward, skewering the closest rat, despite the shot being obscured by corners. Tony's shot strikes the wall, and the bolt breaks. Reynaud and Garrosh move into the room. The skeleton remains motionless, and the ants don't appear to be interested in you. The wererat screeches something out in an unknown language and runs off to the north. The dire rats start to pour into the room, two running for Garrosh and the other two toward Reynaud.
SURPRISE ROUND ORDER OF INITIATIVE

2) Garrosh, Tony, Reynaud, Brodin, in any order, full round actions

Belle PBP |

Belle is going to save her spells for healing. Instead she will use her short bow.
Ranged: +5/1d6-1 Shortbow;20x3;P vs. wererat
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 (cold iron)
ping.

GM Hands of Fate |

Wererat is not to be seen. It ran off to the north down the passage. However, that will hit one of the rats. But why the -1 damage? Cold iron doesn't reduce damage.
Garrosh AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21, Garrosh Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Garrosh AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12, Garrosh Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

GM Hands of Fate |

OK, now I need to look that up. I didn't think bow damage adjusted for low strength.
Oh wow, never new that. Been playing PF for like 6 years and never noticed that.

GM Hands of Fate |

One of Garrosh's opportunistic attacks completely obliterates one of the onrushing rats, but the second misses.

Belle PBP |

OK, now I need to look that up. I didn't think bow damage adjusted for low strength.
Oh wow, never new that. Been playing PF for like 6 years and never noticed that.
I could very well be wrong. I'm not even sure a 9 gives a -1 penalty. Perhaps I need to get be at 8 strength to get a penalty. Here is a good thread on it: bows and strength. I know crossbows do not inflict a strength penalty.

Tony Tanner |

Tony swings past Reynaud, running up the wall to jump over the rat he faces. Drawing his cold iron dagger.
Acrobatic: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Landing in position, he uses the weight of the fall to sink his daggers in deep.
Dagger: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 2 = 14 Its +2 for flank?
DMG: 1d4 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (3, 2) = 14

GM Hands of Fate |

Tony easily parkours his way around to flank the one rat and drives his dagger down, onto the rat's bone plated skull.

Garrosh Saurfang |

"Bah! Rats!" - Garrosh snorts, taking a step back, and swinging at the rat on him.
Bardiche: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

![]() |

Taking another step forward 5' step - hopefully I can get a good enough view of the rat furthest to my left, Brodin falls into his familiar rhythm of loose, fire, loose, fire.
Flurry of arrows against each of the 2 rats remaining
flurry of arrows vs. first rat: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
flurry of arrows vs. second rat: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
damage if hits, first rat: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
damage if hits, second rat: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Belle PBP |

"If the ants give us trouble, I say we lead them to the green stuff. These rats aren't going to last much longer."

GM Hands of Fate |

Garrosh and Brodin finish off the last two remaining rats. The ants begin to show interest in the corpses and blood, but do not seem to be interested in you. And the skeleton remains motionless.

Tony Tanner |

Tony sprints off to follow the Wererat quickly, in hopes that no alarms get raised. He uses his best foot work to cover up the sound of his running.
Using Fast Stealth to give chase to the wererat.
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25

GM Hands of Fate |

I'll give others a quick chance for actions before moving forward. Besides, I just got work handed to me...

Belle PBP |

"No one was injured, righ..."
She halts in mid-sentence as Tony bolts after the were rat.
"Well then. I think we should follow."

![]() |

I'll give others a quick chance for actions before moving forward. Besides, I just got work handed to me...
How dare work interfere with a game, lol. Your bosses should be ashamed of themselves.
Brodin nods.
"Agreed." he states tersely, then rushes after Tony and Belle.

Garrosh Saurfang |

"Lads are getting all worked up" - Garrosh grumbles, taking after the others - "You're going to ruin Tony's scouting"

GM Hands of Fate |

As Tony approaches the door out of the room the floor drops out from underneath him.
DC20 Reflex save or 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9 damage as he falls into a 20' pit.
Point of order, to speed things up in the future, do you want me to roll for saves of traps you do not notice?
