Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

I see your point, but it sounds like Raynaud, Seir and Brodin are at risk. Gilda can't heal and Belle is strained for spells.

Garrosh and Tony...
...taking on those goblins? I don't know.

If we were better positioned, we'd flank from the chasm and circling around behind them... But it could take a couple rounds to get behind.

Do you think the half-orc cleric would do another blast like that if Garrosh jumps across?

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Tony is wounded

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Yes. But 'tis a scratch.

My issue is that he cast a 5th level spell and that means he has, perhaps, one more from wisdom and one more from domain, and about 4 4th level spells. Ouch!

If we can get into melee with him, fine. We can deal with him. Otherwise it is up to Brodin to take him out with arrows all the while with a big fat target painted on his chest. I suspect there is a way to them to the southeast though. I saw a passageway that hooked back northwestward. If we do decide to proceed, I recommend headed southeast in a rush.

Note: Belle already has a Mage Armor up so ignore what I said about saving a first level spell for that.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

I don't think we can plausibly reach him without him taking at least one of us out with whatever is left in his arsenal. Between the limits of movement (we can't really use the Run Action) and his potential screens, no way...

Gotcha guys. Posted!

Yeah I thought about just breaking line of sight and getting channeled to fighting shale, but that'd still take a couple of turns and they might come and chuck grenades at us while we lick our wounds anyway. 7 hobs throwing Alchemists fire into a room where we are all cramped together will be lethal.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Okay, so, bringing this up again. Where are we retreating to?

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Also, Hands of Fate, is retraining on the table? 'cause, no offense to the original design of Tony, but there are some changes I'd like to make.
TT_TT

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

If you want to change Tony up, yeah, feel free. My rules for character creation are much stricter than the OGM, so please run your changes by me first.

Belle would love to retrain her useless Spell Disruption exploit.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

So, where are the retraining rules. I don't think I have ever read them. I'm happy to have people change up their characters a little.

I'll wait for Tony before posting Garrosh's actions.

Even though he does not have a full plate like Garrosh, just the fact the 'Predator' managed to jump over that chasm is impressive (I know because I was pondering it, and then realized I needed a 17 to cross it with a running start :P), so 'retraining' may not be exactly what will be needed after this :D

Yeah, I had this planned out for a few rounds before you even pondered it.

Hey! I just realized the GM is trying to kill us!

THIS IS RAPPAN ATHUK!!!

I'm just trying to kill you in the most fun and enjoyable ways...

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

But we want to have fun too!

Guess we will have to take down the Predator + Priest combo, and stop you from killing us. Sorry about that.

I expect an appropriate reward after our resounding victory.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

You mean like the counterfeit coins you used back in the city to buy healing potions from the priest? OOOOH he was pissed when he found that out....

Even taking down these two, I'll still try and kill you...You still haven't finished off Level 1 of Rappan Athuk proper...

Seir, did you head down the wrong passageway? 'cause you're on the other side of the archer wall from the exit passageway.

Should I see where Tony is on roll20? Because I see everyone else but not him even though Belle and Brodin are on the other side of a wall.

He didn't land in the space next to you. But, curiously, why do you think you should get an AoO?

I can't see where Tony is, but I think I can at least get everyone else from my position. Definitely can't see the priest so I don't think I can do spellcraft.

Channel Energy is a Burst effect. Burst effects don't penetrate walls, so Belle, Brodin and Gilda are SOL. Tony is out of range.

I really think Sier got confused and went up the wrong side of the wall.

I'm not sure of the angle/direction he came from but was just curious if he'd passed through any off Tony's threatened squares. If not, obviously no AoO.

If he landed outside Tony's range and then moved close, well...

Huh. Walls. Derp. :/
I don't suppose positive energy can travel through arrow slits? :P

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Tony, your action for this round was to withdraw away from him. His No Escape action is an immediate action...it doesn't happen on his turn, it happens as a response to your withdrawl.

He gets to go now :)

Gilda is bolting....she's at 3hp. Right now, after being told to withdraw and then seeing Belle go back, Brodin isn't sure what the hell to do...so he will probably return to see what happens.

Leaving work now. Will update with their turns later, probably Monday.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

I'm really sorry. I could have sworn that you posted go and that Tony took damage.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Though. I admit, I have been neglecting sleep.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Hehehe, no problem Tony. It's always confusing in PBP when the bad guys go out of turn.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Could you delete the post? Or strike-through it?
=P

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

unfortunately no....I can't edit your posts. and I can only edit mine within like 4 hours.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Okeydokes.

When you have time, can you post your character creation rules? Both so I can a) prepare a new Tony Tanner (assuming we survive this) and b) perhaps prepare a backup character.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Check the Campaign Info tab

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Well, I already see one issue; Unchained is banned and Tony's an Unchained Rogue.
XD

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

right, because 80% of the characters made here were made before me...

Activate the Spell: Activating a scroll requires reading the spell from the scroll. The character must be able to see and read the writing on the scroll. Activating a scroll spell requires no material components or focus. (The creator of the scroll provided these when scribing the scroll.) Note that some spells are effective only when cast on an item or items. In such a case, the scroll user must provide the item when activating the spell. Activating a scroll spell is subject to disruption just as casting a normally prepared spell would be. Using a scroll is like casting a spell for purposes of arcane spell failure chance.

The reason there is a spell failure roll while deafened is that you cannot hear yourself enunciate the words correctly. When activating a scroll, you are still speaking the words. There is still the chance to fail. Please make a roll.

Well, it never occurred to me that a scroll would suffer from things like armor penalties or deafness. I suppose you could rationalize the deafness thing, but armor? Does that mean if a Fighter does a UMD to read a scroll it will almost certainly fail if he is wearing armor? That just boggles me.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

According to the rules, yes. Probably because you still need to make the somnantic gestures, which is why there is an ASF chance in armor to begin with.
